Review Green Leaf Vietnamese - Langford

Dave Kowalski
Enjoyable place for an excellent Vietnamese dinner. The green tea is excellent and went well with our meals. Starting with the lightly fried tofu in ginger sauce, we had vermicelli lemongrass chicken & sugarcane shrimp dinners. Both were very good but know that sugarcane shrimp is a processed shrimp mix. All good and friendly service. I recommend a visit.

A pretty good spot to enjoy Vietnamese food. The staff is super friendly and the price range of the food is very budget friendly. We ordered a special pho noodle soup and fried fish. Both were amazing. Make sure you pay a visit at the restaurant whenever you are in a mood to eat Vietnamese authentic food

One of the best Asian restaurant around langford area. I really enjoyed their dishes especially the chicken noodle soup. The staff is very polite, clean dining, reasonable prices. It is the best feeling to have a hot soup watching the rain.

Amazing Vietnamese 🇻🇳 foods served here! Do not hesitate to visit and bring some friends. They provide great service at a fair price.

The location was stunning! I like the look of the restaurant, the parking lot is spacious, the service was excellent and with just two of them serving they were able to maintain to serve in busy hours. The price, the amount if food they put on the table, the look.. Everything was excellent and in generous portion. No kidding!

Absolutely delicious! Food was fresh, hot and tasty! Everything came out quickly, and was really enjoyed! We started with the coconut prawns, then had the Wonton Noodle Soup, Special Pho and Ginger Chicken. We all enjoyed the Broth of the Wonton Noodle the most! Washrooms were clean, prices reasonable!

Second time doing takeout from here and both times food was delicious. Got the Viet sub, Rice/chicken and beef noodle this time. I recommend any dish that has chicken as they do it well. Also on the first attempt got a chicken pho with a spicy base (has to specifically ask as that combination wasn't listed on the menu) which was very tasty as well. Will definitely turn into a regular takeout spot for me

Best place in Langford for some comfort food. Hot soup, fresh salad, grilled chicken over rice noodle, you name it! Secret menu - get the spicy beef with pho noodle, surely rice impress! Papaya salad is awesome and the chicken vermicelli with shrimp or spring roll will satisfy. Portion is always so generous. Be prepared to get lost in good food

Green papaya salad and veggie spring rolls with vermicelli noodles. Excellent!! ❤️❤️❤️

The food here is excellent and well presented. The food came fast and the servers were pleasant. It was clean and quiet. Lots of parking and easy to find. A much higher meat-to-noodle ratio for the Pho and everything already came on the side without asking. The vermicelli dishes are delicious and the meat is excellent, all of it. Highly recommend.

Must try on my list. Very friendly to the customers and the pocket too and tables are sanitized at every usage. Welcome green tea, candy 😍 Food is filling but feels light on tummy. One crepe is a balanced food for anyone.

A nice little busy place for Pho or other Vietnamese food. The beef pho was great, but the best part is their house made chili oil. I even purchased a small container of it to take home and use, I placed it into a small mason jar for better storage. Absolutely will come back again.

Great takeout for a cozy night in. They have a wide selection, but the lemongrass vermicelli and the pho are my favorites. I also recommend the salad rolls and the avocado drink.
Paul Neiswender
Food is great, service is friendly. Only issue I have had is asking if certain dishes are gluten free and getting different answers depending on the servers. There have been enough times they have been incorrect that I only eat select dishes that I have already verified are gluten free through my own experiences.

THIS PLACE HAS YET TO DISAPPOINT (more than can be said about Sassy's in Victoria--caveat emptor...) FIRST OF ALL--MY APOLOGIES TO GLVB, FOR NOT HAVING POSTING A WELL-EARNED REVIEW SOONER! HERE GOES... SECONDLY--HAVE ENJOYED A # OF THE PHO'S, THE SALADS/ROLLS AS WELL AS A # OF THE GENEROUS MEALS-IN-A-BOWL...TO SAY THAT THE KITCHEN IN GREEN LEAF HITS A HOME RUN BALANCING PORTION SIZE, TASTE, PRESENTATION WITH PRICE IS TO UNDERSTATE THE VALUE OF GREEN LEAF'S HOSPITALITY, ESPECIALLY DURING BUSY TIMES, AND MORESO DURING COVID. THE STAFF CONSISTENTLY INDULGE US IN HAVING THE KITCHEN SET AN OCCASIONAL INGREDIENT OF A FAVOURITE APPETIZER 'ON THE SIDE'; CAN OFTEN BE A 50-50 PROPOSITION AS TO WHETHER WE END UP WITH LEFTOVERS BUT THE STAFF ARE ALWAYS SPOT-ON WITH A SMILE IN THEIR TIMING WITH HANDY TAKE-OUT CONTAINERS. "BRAVO!!" FOR A JOB THAT CONTINUES TO BE WELL DONE, ESPECIALLY DURING COVID...THAT & MANY MORE YEARS OF SUCCESS TO THE STAFF & MGMT OF GREEN LEAF! LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO WASTE ON VENUES THAT LOWER THE BAR (see caveat above...) THAT GREEN LEAF CONTINUES TO KEEP RAISED!

The food is ok but their service is absolute garbage on multiple occasions I put an order for pickup and when I get there to grab the order they claim that they never received my phone call or my order and insisted it was my mistake and I must have called the wrong restaurant. When i asked to speak to a manager or get a discount on my order the entire staff plays stupid like they don't understand what I'm saying. I do not recommend this place to anybody.

Big portions, tasty food.. friendly service.. well worth it! I’m a chef and that my go to spot for Pho... highly recommended

My cousin and I were in today around 6:30 at the Goldstream location. We were so excited to try the food and had never been here before. I have NEVER had such poor service from a waiter. She made no attempt to be friendly whatsoever. There were only a few tables full so she wasn't that busy. She came up to our table a few minutes after we sat down and just said "are you ready?". We asked if we could get drinks first, I asked for a coffee at which point she abruptly turned to leave without even asking my cousin if she wanted anything. We were both a little dumbfounded wondering what just happened. It took a bit to get her attention and when she came back I told her that what she did was pretty rude and received no apology. Anyways she gets my cousin an iced tea and we try to be friendly to her. She goes out to the patio to bus a table and makes a dirty, snotty face to the other guy working there and walks around to other tables with nothing but attitude to the other patrons. When it comes to take our order, I ask for the veggie salad rolls plus an extra order to go. My cousin asks for Pho which she's never had and wasn't sure how to order. The waitress doesn't offer any help at all just points on the menu and says this is what there is. She later brings me out spring rolls and basically throws it on the table and leaves. I ask her to come back because she brought me the wrong dish. She argued with me about what I ordered, takes it back to the kitchen angrily and we could hear her yelling about us in the kitchen. So we got up and left. Never got to try the food and really didn't want to at that point. So disappointed because I've heard great things. I'm still shocked at the service we received and will never go back. We ended up going to Sabhai Thai where the food and service was awesome.

So much fat on my meat on the #44, I couldn't even look at it - never mind eat it. The spring rolls are horrible. Salad rolls as appys were good though. Would not return.
Ben Mcculloch
This is literally the first time I have ever written a review because I'm pretty laid back but this one could not go ignored... Lost our order which is not a big deal but freezer burned spring rolls?? We got there 5 mins early and everything was cold and flavourless. My wife literally said "I have to admit this is the worst Vietnamese meal I've ever had".
Jeff Vermeulen
We ordered 3 dishes today and out of the 3, one had a massive hair in it and the other had a large piece of plastic in it. We weren't offered a refund, instead offered a new dish. I wasn't feeling up to having more hair or plastic tonight so I passed on the offer. The service has been going downhill over the last few months and I dont think We'll be returning.

Recently visited Green Leaf and had a wonderful experience. The food is exceptional, well presented and with generous helpings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will certainly return. Excellent!

Consistently delicious! I love this place. The caramelized shrimp are delicious and the spicy soups - yum! Always fresh and fast.

Some Mexican friends were visiting and I proposed them to try Vietnamese food. I never thought that this will end as a bad experience. We ordered and I was translating for my mom's friend. After receiving our meals, we asked for 2 forks, then somebody was feeling like having pop, afterwards we asked for limes. And one of the waitress' told me... Can you order everything at once? ... We were not playing any kind of game. we were not trying to upset her or anything like that. The price of a Pho bo vien regular size is 10.50 (before tax) and it doesn't included rare meat. It is not my first time eating Pho and I have to say that I've tried better and for a better price. One of my friends stood up for her fork and went for a glass of water. I'm really sorry but we didn't leave tip. Our bill was 50 dollars and we were willing to be treated just as any other customer. The restaurant wasn't busy so we don't know what was wrong with her...

We have been here many times since we like to support local business in Langford; however, today is the last time. We were here about three months ago, the service was not great and the Pho was ok. Today, we thought we would give it one more try. Slow is not the adjective I would describe their service, it's more like poor. Two tables that came in after us got served before us and another wait staff decided to clean a table instead of taking our order. There was a total of 4 tables (including us) in the restaurant, so not super busy. Both my boyfriend and I are decent cooks; however, we love to dine out at least once a week to a restaurant because we are willing to pay for a good meal, our food served and not having to clean up. We just left because we couldn't get service and there are better Pho restaurant in downtown Victoria. If you are looking for a self-serve restaurant, meaning you have to track a wait staff to make an order then this is the place for you. The Green Leaf Bistro has gone downhill.

A friend told me to get #24 but spicy and it was the best thing I've had in a real long time. Will definitely go back. Also basically had 3 meals out of it.

Delicious and well priced food is what has brought me back again and again :)

Bad service, mediocre food. The pho was pretty tasteless.

Re: Complaint My family frequently visits Goldstream Green Leaf and visited again on a Victoria Day long weekend. When our order came, there was one missing – vegi rice noodle soup. The waitress of small frame, who looks like in her early twentieth, insisted that she brought the right order as she had heard. My wife explained what we ordered was different from the foods served. We could have ordered (added) one more again and, of course, the server could have accepted another order again. What is worse then is the fact that she scoffed at my wife by saying “huh!” by turning her face in a very rude way. When we were checking out, my wife wanted to talk to the manager of the restaurant (she asked another server-cashier ) but the cashier, who looks like in his twenties, says the manager is busy cooking in the kitchen. My wife asked the server whether he saw the waitress was scoffing at my wife, and the server said yes he saw the waitress scoffing my wife. We wanted Green Leaf Bistro to take a specific and strict action on this matter. We became to know this excellent restaurant since my Vietnamese friend introduced it to us. We have live for 15 years in Victoria but this unbearably unpleasant thing was the first time ever and hope it will be the last. If nothing or small action should be taken, we are thinking making this a bigger issue with the help of other customers who had similar experiences and the relevant authorities let alone the local press including Times Colonist. From Want-to-visit again

The service is TERRIBLE
The food is ok but I’ll stick to my favourite Vietnamese in Edmonton and skip this place when I’m visiting Victoria a couple times a year

We decided to give this place a shot. Place was not very clean and the food was over priced for what you got. I had the shrimp and it was horrible, my partner had a beef dish and it was super greasy.
Won't be doing that again.

We have had good and bad experiences here. Food is good, pho is the best here. We will only come here when we are really wanting pho. Otherwise it’s not out first choice.
Kiki
Its not the most authentic Vietnamese food but it's decent. We had the spicy pho and lemon grass chicken with rice. I find the pho was relatively bland and had to add lots of hot sauce to it myself to make it spicier and more flavorful. We were disappointed with the lemon grass chicken as the marinade was mostly soy sauce and completely overpowered the lemon grass you can hardly taste it.

○snobby service / where are the smiles at? / never ever seen this type of rude, unprofessional, b*tchy service in my life - the young girl rolled her eyes when we asked nicely for the bill - (that's how you acknowledge Customers? I paid to eat noodle soup, not hair soup! That's disgusting! Foods were below average Vietnamese foods but service had too much attitude. Shame on you!

Decent Vietnamese food for Langford.
Partner really enjoyed the pho. Satisfying on a chilly evening. There's a small section of vegetarian options (unfortunately no pho) so ordered the vegetable vermicelli with spring rolls that were a rather mushy minced texture. Will try the salad rolls next time...
friendly helpful service. Very busy especially with takeout.
Update** visited again to try new dishes and the meal was good. Ordered the grilled pork vermicelli and meat was cooked perfectly with a nice smoky flamed flavour (they seem to do meat well), and the tofu and veggies with egg noodles is a vegetarian dish that I'd recommend (although second time I ordered it, it was heavier on the soy sauce...). Again, restaurant was bustling on a Sunday evening with people coming and going. Restaurant itself may not seem all that busy but lots of orders are pick-up so service is steady - if you need a server just flag someone down. Keep in mind it's a family run business. Space could do with a little touch-up and tlc including fixing up the huge under-utilized deck out front that would be great for customers to enjoy. We found service to be okay and price-to-portion very reasonable.
Note* Westshore menu bit different than downtown location

Green Leaf Bistro provided an adequate dining experience with fairly standard quality pho. They do something somewhat unique by having a dried garlicy garnish that I found to be an interesting variation. The pho broth and noodle quality were average, the provided thai basil and bean sprouts were nice and fresh. While the experience was not incredibly memorable, I cannot fault them on anything in particular. I would return but am unlikely to go out of my way to do so. Probably the same goes for whether I'd recommend the place to friends - other Vietnamese restaurants would likely have a higher priority on my list. I would be interested in trying other food here someday though.

My go-to for Vietnamese food anywhere... I always go for the rice plates and they're tasty. Quality meat in comparison to anywhere else and it's render and cooked perfectly. My only complaint is the spring rolls I normally like to get at other joints for an appy. The are minced something and the texture is terrible. I reccomend green leaf but not the spring rolls

Had to move the other day. New place didn't have a stove yet. Decided to try this place on the whim of a friend. Might have to delete my 'Noodlebox Review'. I got take out again, (I know, never do that the first time at a new eatery), and the food was wonderful! Fresh, flavourful, colourful and believe it or not, there was even some nice presentation going on inside the styro clamshell! If you want fast, tasty, healthy food instead of shit take out go here.
Only whine factor is no website, only FB and you can't read the photo of the menu, Its 2016, everyone has an app, and they don't even have a way to pre-order for take out. Tsk tsk.

Good food. Friendly service i went with a big group and the servers were patient and friendly with us. Everyone enjoyed their food. If you're in the area and are wanting vietnamese food, try this place.

Was our first time ordering from this place, thought we would try something different. Then I found out that the menu at the Langford place was not the same as the one on this website according to the lady that answered the phone. I wanted to order spring rolls, rare beef pho and caramalized shrimp on rice. Even after confirming my order and making sure that she had the rare beef pho on the list, what we received was: spring rolls, salad rolls, and caramalized shrimp. No one bothered to take our name and number for the order, they didn't say what time it would be ready, and didn't give us an itemized receipt when we picked it up. I don't know where the mix up was... hubby went to pick up and there was confusion about which order was ours... got home and found out there was no pho in the bag(!). I said that I wondered if it was a language barrier and hubby said no, her English was fine. Food was not bad but won't be bothering to order from them again...

Second time here and have nothing bad to say about this place. Good service. Fast. Friendly. And the food is great too. Decent prices. Our go to place for Viet

KITCHEN STAFF UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR
My wife and I are Green Leaf regular customers and we often come to your restaurant for the food and friendly server. Just as we enjoy our dinner today, we can hear a male voice yelling at one of the kitchen staff. This is unprofessional and rudely behavior in our opinion. Please have the decency to allow your customer to finish their meal and leave the restaurant before you start your quarrel. If you value your business, you need to treat your staff and customer respectfully.

I love Green Leaf. One of the best restaurants on the Westshore for sure! All of their food is good. Service is nice and quick too. Definitely one of our weekly go-to's!

Horrible service!. I was looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately I had the WORST server I've ever come across. She was making face and rolling her eyes as she walked away from tables. She then came and asked "what do u want?"...so my company ordered a drink and the server then turned around and left without even waiting for me to order my drink. When we told her we thought this was inappropriate she then got even worse and brought us out the wrong food and when we told her it was not the right order, she said and I quote " no, I'm pretty sure you ordered this"....r u serious...she then grabbed our plate and yelled in the kitchen so everyone could hear. We decided we'd better take our business else where. I'm very disappointed, and saddened that such a young pretty lady behaved this way. She should be fired!!!

Try # 50!!!. Just had the #50 - Thai seafood bowl style - lots of seafood, huge prawns and the broth is amazing! The portions are huge so next time we will get a second bowl and share just one soup. Good service and great value, we will be back.

Love Green Leaf!. I have been to both Green Leaf Bistros (downtown and Langford) and they have both been good! I go to the Langford one more often however.

The food: I have never had any problems with the food! The pho is flavorful, hot and comes with lots of fresh garnishes. I have tried a couple different things from the menu and my favorite are the green papaya salad, the pork patty and spring roll vermicelli bowl and the pho ga. My husband and I went once and he wasn't very hungry so he ordered the grilled quail. The server was so friendly and said "just to let you know they aren't very big so please be aware of that". She was right, they weren't very big (being that they are quail it makes sense!) but it was the perfect small appetizer size that my hubby was looking for. Really nice of her to warn him though. Expectations that aren't met can often lead to dissatisfaction. I've also ordered take out pho from here and they package everything up separately and it is still hot when you get home!

The service: The service is pretty good. Nothing spectacular (other than as mentioned above) but it is fast!

The decor: I like the decor of the Langford one better than downtown. It is spacious, cozy, lots of parking out front and even has a patio for the sunny days!

So Good!. Their chicken pho is fantastic, with wonderfully cooked meat. Flavourful and completely different than their beef broth. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great pho and rice plates. Popular joint. Meat is cooked perfectly. Tasty tasty. Try a side of the grilled pork mmmm

Great spot. Great place to sit and eat and for take out. Our family loves it.

Amazing. It is the most amazing pho I have had very tasty

Very, very disappointing :(. I'm really sad to have such a bad review of this place as I love Vietnamese and this place is super close to my work. We ordered Salad Rolls, Spring Rolls and Lemongrass Beef. I will say the presentation was nice, but that's about it. The spring rolls were filled with a mushy mixture, it was impossible to tell what was inside and the sauce served with it was from the bottle Thai chilli sauce, not the usual homemade nuoc cham sauce I am accustomed to. The salad rolls looked beautiful but lacked any flavor whatsoever. There was no cucumber, no cilantro, basil or mint inside and one single piece of julienned carrot in each roll. The lemongrass beef was the worst. The meat was covered in a sauce that was clearly thickened with cornstarch, it had the consistency of sweet and sour sauce or any other heavily sauced dish you would find in a Chinese restaurant. I ate one bite of everything, my Husband didn't bother eating anything. I think it was pretty obvious that we didn't like the food but our server made no attempt to offer something else. Not that it would have mattered, I think we saw enough to know that this was not what we wanted.
Never again!!
Hbis
I'm just saying, you're going to love this restaurant!. Friendly welcoming greeting, warm happy atmosphere, great menu offerings, delicious food, excellent service ... Perfect!

Don't know when I will be back.... Bin here many times and loved the food and service when it first opened. I get that restaurants promote themselves with big servings and great service. But with little service, loud music that doesn't fit the restaurant, and price/quantity changes doesn't make me all to eager to go back...
Pandapaws11
Fresh and Tasty. I'm a regular customer here. I come for lunch or dinner at least twice a week. I'm very confused by some of the reviews on this site.I've had most of the soups and many of the other dishes on the menu. I have never had a bad meal or poor service even when the restaurant was nearly full. Its busy because the food is fresh and tasty. No its not spicy. If you like it spicy (as i do) there is chilli oil and hot sauce at every table and with the soup for take out. Thai food is spicy. The traditional Vietnamese restaurants I have been to in the US and Europe have not been spicy. Fresh and flavorful yes, but not spicy. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. I have never had poor service. Try Green Leaf for yourself. I think you'll like it.
Great Food!. The food is always consistently delicious. We go at least once every two weeks and have never been disappointed. Highly highly recommend as one of our most favorite.

Not great. worst pho place I've been to on Vancouver island. definately not worth trying

Very neat little restaurant. The food was really good! Some of the best pho We have ever had. We ordered the spicy beef and #18 (pho). We loved it.

But??? Hoping the service will be better than last night! Please hire someone who can speak English!!!

Warning Vegetarians - These guys lie!. I hate to be another guy on the internet complaining, but I consider this to be a major issue. I've been to this place 4-5 times in the past. Every time I went, I confirmed with the server that the hot and sour soup I was ordering off the VEGETARIAN menu was made with a vegetable base. Each and every time the server was keen to convince me that the soup base was indeed vegetarian. This was witnessed by my vegetarian and non-vegetarian friends who were with me. Every time the server assured me it was vegetarian, something about the way she said it seemed a bit dodgy and the soup always tasted a bit funky. It was pretty good to be honest, but it didn't seem to be vegetarian.

Today I pushed the issue a bit more and she finally admitted that it was made with either chicken or beef base depending on the day. I was furious and asked to speak to the manager. He was quite hesitant to deal with me until I continued to push. He said the menu explains everything, but there is no mention of beef/chicken broth in the soups.

The undisclosed meat issue (especially fish sauce) is common with Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese and other Eastern ethnic foods. I know to look out for it. The problem is that I clearly asked our server on several occasions and she chose to lie to my face on each and every occasion. I'm also certain that this was not a language issue. She knew exactly what I was asking.

In short, I hope no one dies on their floor because they chose to lie about the ingredients of what they are serving. Shame on these people. I wont be going back.

You must try. I have eaten here several times and the food has been exceptional and the staff very friendly and helpful. Vietnamese food is not as rich and creamy as Thia but it contains fresh vegetable and very subtle hints of Asia. The meal always comes with a bottomless pot of complementary jasmine tea that is very soothing. If you have not tried this restaurant it is very reasonably priced and a must on any list
Catherinejakob
Green Leaf. Hey, i'm extremely surprised by some of these reviews, aggressive and jealous other restaurant owners? The Green leaf food is fresh and good. Vietnamese food is not usually spicy if you don't spice it yourself. The broth is served bland because there's everything on the table to make it tasty. I eat vietnamese food since years, i have been to countless vietnamese restaurants, and Vietnam, and i have nothing to say about the food, service or anything else for the Green leaf. Yes it's adapted to North American customers, and? Do you think the Chinese food you eat in these awful restaurants around town is authentic? or even in the Thai ones? You still follow the trends and go, no? I am a huge fan of Pho VI in town, and the Green leaf is a good second on my list when we don't want to leave the Westshore but still eat our favorite food. So angry customers, beat it and go eat at McDonald.
Mary Komarnisky
Non spicy asian food lovers. I gave Vietnamese food a try when they took over the Goldstream Ave location. I found out being a spicy asian food lover that their menu offerings which I'd tried were totally bland with little enticement in the flavour dept. People that like bland foods will probably enjoy this. Unfortunately, its not quite my cup of tea. I still may though give it another shot and inquire this time for something "spicy", or just add some of my own chili to it.
Bon Appetite.
Karley
Not authentic.... The food was like the McDonald's of Vietnamese... Good if that's what you are into. The service was so-so but found it a bit off putting to have one of the staff or owners barefoot children hanging out at our table half the time -we are parents so we were understanding, but at the same time we were trying to enjoy a date. The prices are good and the portions are huge. Good bargain, just not super authentic or flavourful.
Thomas
Just dinner there with my friends tonight again. Great foods but poor services. Not too happy with one of the waitress there.

The worst Vietnamese food I've had. Horrible Service. Not much good to say about this place. Don't waste your money.
Foodseed
Finally a decent Vietnamese restaurant in the Westshore! Must admit, the service needs work here, their servers are too young and require training. However, food is very good and the price is reflective of a Vietnamese place. I found the pho very tasty, even better than pho vy and pho hua in town. Their noodle was fresh and broth delicious. I hope they will work on their service and stay!

Excellent Food. We have been to this restaurant multiple times & have taken friends and family there as well everyone has thoroughly enjoyed everything we have had, from appetizers, salads, soups and vermicelli dinners. We must warn you the volume is much more than you expect and if is very filling. If you are going to order the appetizer crepe it is a full meal all of its own for many.
Everyone was very helpful with explaining items on the menu. Excellent food and service would suggest people try it and form their own opinion.
Mark Hamilton
I quite enjoyed my meal with friends. The service was good, we sat outside on the deck, the menus is extensive, the food well prepared and presented.
Foodlover
Does not like it. The worst hot and sour soup I have ever tasted, large chunks of tomatoes and canned pineapple in tepid unflavorful broth that was not spicy at all.The service was terrible with loud loud music and the owners children running around wild touching all the chopsticks
Kla
Welcome, Green Leaf! Amazing flavour, healthy, fresh...! Yum!. I ordered salad rolls with shrimp and an order of vermicelli salad combo, number 43, I think, and though a BIG eater, I could not finish the ample takeout portion. My young daughters stole one of my salad rolls to share, and they normally won't touch them unless I make them fresh. Our family will DEFINITELY be going back, I am a new fan, and cannot wait to try the phone, and some other dishes from the varied menu :-) PS Dont have a bill? TRY ASKING for one. Staff is very nice, be patient!! Wish they had dessert to go, like creme caramel ...mmm!

Sept 2016 update: still AWESOME!! Still hopeful they make desserts one day.

Really Liked It. We tried the new Westshore location for the first time this evening and really enjoyed the food. We had the following menu items:
#1 Fresh Salad Rolls with Pork & Shrimp
- These were amazingly fresh and tasty, and came with a great peanut sauce.
#21 Pho (Beef Noodle Soup) with Rare Beef & Meatballs
- The broth was excellent and spice, oyster &/or soy sauce can be added to taste. It is also served with a heaping side of fresh veggies, lime, chilies and Thai basil which can be added as desired.
#34 Udon Noodles with Shredded Pork, Grilled Chicken & Coconut Milk
- This was a huge meal, and was very tasty. The coconut is a cream sauce for the udon noodles and is served with bean sprouts and pickled veggies as well.
Overall, the food was extremely good, and was a very reasonably priced for the large portion sizes (only $30 for an appetizer and 2 mains after tip, and we had leftovers for lunch the next day.) We will definitely be back to try more of their menu soon!

Green Leaf Bistro has two locations: one in Langford and one in Downtown. I think this location is relatively new since I do not actually remember it being there when I worked nearby Metchosin last year. After finding this place, I was glad to know that I did not have to venture out all the way to Downtown Victoria (20 minutes drive from work) to get some pho. However… this only applies to pho cravings before 9pm. Pho cravings after 9pm meant going to Pho Boi in Downtown. I ordered my favourite Rare Beef and Beef Balls Noodle Soup (Large: $10.50) . I totally regretted ordering this size because the bowl was huge and there was a ton of noodles inside! There was also an abundance of meat and onions as well. The broth was very light and not too oily, which was good. I do think it was lacking a bit of flavour and relied on MSG to flavour. I shared an order of the Cha Gio ($5.95).
