Solid pub food fare as well as great bar selection. Nice casual atmosphere with better than expected food choices. Selection of the normal pub fare, but with some added twists to keep things interesting when you are looking for a change. Friendly welcoming staff with large portions at reasonable prices for the area.

Quite impressed. We initially thought top of Bear Mountain, another "pretty" patio pub... all ambience no substance, I mean how good can the food be? Ordered the Cashew-Chickpea Burger on a brioche bun and it was quite good, served with a generous side salad - a great deal for $13. Hubs enjoyed the Angus Cheeseburger with onion ring topping. Later on we ordered takeout: the Chicken Caesar Wrap ($14) which the hubs thoroughly enjoyed and nachos for me, wrapped in a big box with 3 huge soup containers full of sour cream, salsa and gauc. Portion size was okay, albeit pricey for $20. Right amount of cheese-to-chip ratio and toppings that included jalapeños, olives, fresh tomatoes and red onion... someone knew what they were doing (take note Darcy's!). Be warned they don't pick up their phone during busy hours. And patio gets packed in peak season, esp weekends. Grab n go takeout for a hike at Lone Tree or Upper Thetis. Or find somewhere quiet on the resort grounds and take in the surroundings (there's a notso-secret trail to Mt Finlayson... only 25 min to the top!)
Overall, a great place to visit for pub grub in a part of town with not many restaurant options.

I like that there's a sushi place and a bar together. The sushi was delicious and not too expensive. They had live music when we were there and it was really good!
One of my favourite spots to eat. Away from the busyness of in town, and a relaxing atmosphere. I like the patio more than the inside. Sushi is delicious here. I haven't had a bad meal yet!
User reviews. Jacks Place won my tastes buds. Last two dinners in the last month at Jack's (haven't gone there in 2 years) were fantastic. New ownership shows. Food is great, and portion size is impressive!
Pros/Cons. Good burgers and excellent pizza. The only downside is that you can't really customize the pizza; there are only a few pizzas they make and the wait staff act like it would take an act of god to add/change any of the toppings. Try the Hawaiian pizza, it's the best Hawaiian I've had on the island.
Called Wednesday to arrange a reservation for 9 people for Saturday night. The girl apologized and said her manager would not allow reservations for any time after 6:00, however she said to show up and she was sure we would get a table within 15 minutes. Show up Saturday night and we are asked if we have a reservation???? uh no, we were told you didn't take them for tonite? Sure enough though...they have us seated with drinks within 5 minutes. Super service, great food, awesome patio. Never disappointed with the service or the food here.

Lunch/Dinner at Jack's Place. Went there for lunch one day and it was pretty good, so decided to go back for dinner another day. For lunch my wife likes her healthy salads and they had a decent selection. Her salad came fresh and tasty. My cajun fish was actually pretty decent. When we came back for dinner, my wife ordered the same cajun fish dish i had for lunch previously and I had a steak with shrimp. We started with a healthy salad (there were some strawberries, walnuts and feta also on it). The salad was very good. My wife really enjoyed her fish and I enjoyed my steak. My steak was a good cut and was cooked perfectly. The only thing that would have made it truly memorable, was if the cook would have only sprinkled some Montreal Steak spice on the steak while it was cooking. Cooks need to realise that a steak's true flavour is enhanced by the seasoning that comes from a good steak spice. If he/she would have used a steak spice to bring out the flavours of the steak, the steak would have been perfect. I can't believe how many cooks over look this simple (and cheap) step when cooking steak. The desert we had was also good from what I remember. I think it was chocolate cake. Overall, we enjoyed our evening. The service was decent for a busy Friday night. I hope they add a few more tasty and healthy salads and main dishes to the menu. We will go back!

Dinner@Jacks Place. Nothing but good to say!! A Sports bar atmosphere with ample screens. The servers were very friendly and quite attentive. foo was not slow to arrive.
We had the 10oz steak and prawns, came with a salad or seafood chowder. We chose the chowder. Without a doubt 1 of the best I have ever had!! The Steak was done to my perfection, served with Garlic mashed potatoes and fresh veggies, which were, carrots, broccoli and baby spinach leaf.Veggies were cooked right as well. a little firm, not crunchy, but not mushy or too soft either. Dessert, which was included was a brownie with whip cream, ice cream and chocolate sauce. I would definitely recommend Jacks Place

One of my Favorite places! Great pub food, but at a high quality standard. Also an attached sushi Restaurant! Something for everyone to enjoy! Beautiful patio, great atmosphere inside. I would reccomend it 100%
Great food and service. We went here tonight, ate out on the warm patio and had great food, cheap drinks ($5 beer and $6 wine) and good service! The sushi platter with crispy spicy California roll, dynamite roll and edamame was a deal at $16 and then we added on a dozen wings - fast service and the server asked to turn down the music before we asked (was loud!) It was nice to feel we had great value for what we received - difficult to find these days!

Great restaurant. I went to Jack's Place for my birthday with a group of friends and had the best time. We were seated quickly and the staff was super friendly. The food was also very good and came quickly to our table after we had ordered it. Loved the live music too! Will definitely be coming back!

Jacks and Kuma. My Husband, kiddo and I go here often! Which is nice.. Because most places dislike children and we are very cautious of any noise we make. It's comfortable. You can dress up, you can dress down.. Jacks is a nice restaurant to go with family or friends. The menu is great, the food is great (never had a bad meal yet). The only maybe small problem may be they don't have enough wait staff so maybe on a really busy night they may not see you within 5 minutes but literally only had that happen once. Every other time food is fantastic, and waitress' are friendly!!

Good Food and Service. I was here on a business trip and we ended up at Jack's one evening. The service was prompt, efficient, and done with a smile even though they were particularly busy (the hockey game was on). I has the Beef Dip and it was amazing. Lots of beef and with onions and cheese it was heavenly! The dip was flavourful and complimented the sandwich well. My compatriots had a steak sandwich (done perfectly to order), fish and chips (a generous serving size) and another Beef Dip. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food and we had a great evening. Would recommend this establishment to anyone I know.......
Amazing Food!. I live at Bear Mountain, since new owners have taken over Nov 1st, I was curious as to see there new menu! Ive ate there 5 times in the last 2 weeks, I had a meat pizza, this is a meal for 2, it was huge. The hamburger was homemade, It was so good, I went there last Sat cause the special was 3 homemade sliders with fries for $10. The Mac & Cheese was awesome. & I tried the chilli. The place was packed on Friday at 8 pm, so I sat at the bar. After chatting with the bartender, telling him I was in a NHL pool, he said they were going to get the NHL package, Jacks is my new favorite hangout!

Jacks is amaIng during the summer when you can sit outside onthe patio. And actually even during the rest of the year it's not so bad. It's comfortable, has great service, and delicious options on the menu...not to mention some of the parties that I've enjoyed there.
Good tasting comfort food, relaxing atmosphere.. Pub style food with a fantastic outside terrace. One of my favorite dishes is the golden bear beef dip with shaved roast beef, spanish onions, cheddar cheese, and onion and garlice jus. The succulent roast beef is both tender and juicy. Although they are a bit pricey ($15 for beef dip and salad), their beef dip is better quality, and better tasting than any pub I have been to in Victoria. Their vegetables are fresh and the atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable.
The tacos and fajitas were both good but the sides (cheese, sour cream, salsa, guacamole) were served in such small containers that there was really only enough for one serving.
Food was good, as well as the atmosphere. Only complaint is the table tops, the first table we sat on it felt like it was not cleaned properly as it was sticky. We asked our server and changed table, the next one had the same problem. Apparently, their wooden tables need some upgrades as the stain is getting sticky and it feels like they are not clean. Hopefully, they can take care of it soon. On the other hand, loved the menu, so much variety and everyone from our group was happy and excited to order their food. The food was delicious too, would definitely come back for the food!

We had lunch here. I ordered a power bowl with tuna (which was very yummy) and a warm brownie (which also was yummy). My husband had lemon pepper wings, which were a little bit on the burn side as well as chicken mini burgers (burgers were good but fries were mostly dry). Waitress was really nice and helpful.
It is an ok place in my opinion. After 3 pm you can have sushi but we were earlier so I couldn’t order it, so no opinion about that.
Might return but mostly just because a friend lives nearby and it is a central place to meet.
We stayed at Westin and came for dinner 2 days in a row. It’s convenient and good value. Restaurant is clean and all the staff are providing high standard service. Food is pretty good and in large portions given the price.
Food, atmosphere and service were good if I had only was negative it would be that my dinner which was the Terriaki Noodle and Vegetables dinner with chicken had way too much liquid in it and caused the liquid to splash all over my good clothes when I tried to eat it, so I was going to take it home and unfortunately forgot it on the table and it was left behind. That was quite upsetting as it was almost the whole meal and it cost like at least 23 dollars for it. ☹
This should have been a five-star rating. My pizza was simply amazing. The flavors were spot on. The crust alone I'll try to come back for. However, my wife was not impressed with her chicken wrap. She passed on to me that it was the worst wrap she had ever had anywhere. After her second mouthful, I knew she wasn't thrilled. The chicken was very dry. The wrap had too much lettuce. There were no flavors. The tortilla wrap itself just crumbled all over due to it being extremely dry, too. She left most of it and concentrated on her fries. The manager is very friendly and professional. The service was also very good. The place is very clean too. Now I have to convince my wife to give it another try so I can have some amazing pizza again.
Review number two, back for a work xmas party. The meal was amazing, so was the service, so this 3 is now a 5. My wife enjoyed her sushi. I ordered a pizza to go.
We were surprised that it was so quiet when we went for lunch a few weeks ago and it immediately made us feel a bit nervous- like we had stepped into a place we weren’t supposed to. But that was soon changed with the exceptionally warm and friendly service as well as the quality/portion/value of the food. It goes well beyond one’s expectations as far as golf club restaurants go and I would have no qualms about visiting this place again. Great quesadillas and crispy fresh calamari. The steak sandwich kicked butt too.
First time there, and late at arriving after they closed the kitchen. Was friendly greeted by who appeared to be the manager and told theyd happily take a food order even with the kitchen closing early! Food was great and quite delicious and no rush to leave after eating!

Great food for an ok price the pastas, pizzas, and most of everything on the menu is really good. Great service and great atmosphere good place to watch sports and get some great food for an ok price.
The staff were friendly both on the phone and in person. Both times I took food to go and it was ready exactly when they said it would be, plus they got the customizations right the first time. Portion size was good and food quality was as well. In my opinion the salmon was a bit dry (overcooked) and the steamed veggies a little overcooked too. But other than that perfect, and the power bowl with chicken was fabulous. Decent prices, especially compared to other options in the area.

We showed up a little later in the evening and we we're a bit surprised to be honest how great everything was. We ordered 4 apps to share and the food arrived quickly, hot and well seasoned. Service was pretty good too!
Only complaint would be the temperature of the room. It was a cold night and the door to outside was wide open. We ended up moving right next to the cozy fire.
We always enjoy coming up to Bear Mountain. Came here with our kids the other night and had a great meal. Everyone was happy. The staff were great, food tasty and a great atmosphere!
Awesome service, great patio and delicious food! Would highly recommend if you are in the bear mountain area. We got the golfers platter and the two of us were very full afterwards! All the food our friends got also looked delicious(see photos)
Has a pretty good menu with a variety of different styles of food from typical pub food, to pizza, to sushi. Tried several items and all were pleasant. There's not a lot of choices to eat at Bear Mountain, but this is a decent option for most.
The Chicken & Prawn Linguine was served steaming hot & absolutely delectable! I would definately highly recommend this establishment to anyone. The service was professional, courteous & we received our fresh meals so incredibly fast. My husband was pleasantly surprised by how delicious his homemade hamburger & tossed salad were given the previous poor reviews? Well done Jack's !!! As we'll definately be returning ...
Jack's place is usually one of the best places to eat in Langford.
My last visit to Jack's was not the case.
I'm never a harsh critic, but I would like to say hopefully it is better next time.
My halibut burger was over cooked but I ate it anyway.
My bosses steak was over cooked to his likings. I went back to the kitchen, and he ended up eating his dinner alone because everyone else had already eaten by the time his proper dinner had been presented.
He was very pleased with plate #2 good job.
