Great and friendly service. Nice ambience. And super cool when a train goes by! Duck taco were tasty. The hunter bison stew was very hearty and filling.
Excellent!!!!. My wife and I ate dinner there on Saturday night during the ice carving festival. Beautiful old station building that adds so much character to your meal. It has a lot of the original structure to it, as well as lots of neat items to look at from when it was a functioning station.
You can have a nice building but is the food any good. I had a bison burger and my wife had the prime rib. Both were really great and I would order both again.
The best part, you get all this for half the price of a meal at the Chateau.
Good Food, Good Atmosphere, Friendly Staff. We dined at the Lake Louise Station twice the week after Christmas. The food was very good and a relatively good value compared to the overpriced institutional fare a the Chateau Lake Louise. Service at the station was attentive, well-timed, and informal.
The dining room atmosphere in the lounge of this old railroad station with a crackling fire in the fireplace was warm and cozy on a cold snowy night. High-backed Mission-style arm chairs surrounding the square hardwood dining tables provided a semi-private enclosed feeling. One drawback: the volume of the ambient background music was a bit high, while its genre was selected to meet the personal tastes of the staff.
Our party enjoyed the B.C. trout, seafood curry, N.Y. strip steak, and prime rib. Food arrived warm and nicely presented within 15 minutes. Root vegetables, all too prevalent in the winter, were a bit undercooked. But the main entrees were tasty, hot, and well prepared. The restaurant offers value-priced nightly specials including curries and pasta dishes.
The wine list is very limited, modestly priced, and almost exclusively Okanagan sourced. They offer only a few selections by-the-glass. While B.C. produces some truly fine white wine, its red wines pale in comparison to those from warmer climates. The Station would do well to offer a more "global" wine selection.
Overall we were pleased enough with the food, service, and comfort of this locally owned and operated establishment to return again later in the week for another good meal.
Outstanding.. Great location. Great food. It's an all-time favorite. The cosy atmosphere with the fireplace makes it a great destination for special occasions. Very comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
Great!. Salmon and chicken was good. Strawberry rhubarb pie was off the charts! Great service from Dale and a couple trains rolled by as well.
Traveller. Fantastic Fish & Chips! They serve halibut! My partner had the Prime Rib - perfectly cooked. The service was wonderful.
Great ambiance. I would highly recommend this place to travelers.
Lake Louise Station Restaurant which is a hidden gem, tucked away and seasonal! We were quite lucky to get a table as we didn’t even make any reservations!... I knew I wanted to warm up with a spicy Virgin Caesar and it was delicious! Once we ordered our meals, a plate of bread and bugger came out. The bread was really fresh, with a subtle sweetness to it...The soup of the day was their Cream of Asparagus and it was very delightful!...For the entree, we both decided to have their Turkey dinner which was huge as it came with slices of turkey meat with gravy, seasonal vegetables, stuffing, and some potatoes. With it was some cranberry sauce and coleslaw. It was delicious and I ate everything up!
