Review Quizno's Jita - Kitchener

Was looking for a traditional Sunday lunch while I was staying in Waterloo good old roast beef with Yorkshire pudding it’s been a while since love had. Service was good polite staff and friendly your asked if you want to sit in or outside l would have gone outside but they haven’t put up parasols so stayed in. Roast beef was tender served with veggies and mashed potato with mushrooms on top and onion gravy was surprised to see that they had put peppers and celery in for the veg it was very good. For me I would have preferred horse radish but all in all a very enjoyable lunch. Look forward to going back when I’m in the area again.

Ordered the sheppard's pie through skip the dishes. First time trying this restaurant after reading some of the positive reviews. I don't usually have high expectations for an online food delivery but seriously.. the presentation looked like someone had eaten what was actually my sheppard's pie and proceeded to vomit the whole thing out into the container. The oil and grease was overflowing and the whole thing was soaking wet. Really awful flavour. the whole thing tasted like greasy water. It was unedible and I ended up having to toss out the pie after only a few small bites as I was getting nauseous eating it. I ended up throwing up and had really bad stomach pain afterwards. This food is a health hazard and I probably would have ended up in a hospital if I had finished that. Approx. $20 before taxes for this mess, honestly you'd have more luck with the frozen sheppard pies at Walmart or Sobeys. We also found a small piece of hair in our gravy. So all in all, we truly appreciate the amount of care and hard work that this lovely and wonderful team of chefs have put into preparing our dinner this evening as whoever cooked this pie should not be anywhere near a kitchen, and maybe a career change would be a good idea for them too.

Oh man, there's nothing I can say about this place that hasn't been said already. This restaurant has always been one of my go to places, between the beer selections and menu choices, you can't go wrong. This past Friday I ordered fish and chips for our family of four, which includes some picky eaters. There was a short wait at pickup time, which was OK because I had a great conversation with other customers waiting for their orders. I had ordered four, two piece meals and the portion sizes did not disappoint, the pieces of fish were quite large and there was a ton of chips. The fish was not greasy, the batter was light and crispy and so tasty. And what they couldn't finish at dinner, they finished for breakfast the next day. This was another great meal from this place and is why I keep coming back. I am so glad the Whale and Ale was not another casualty of the pandemic, keep up the great work everyone!

My family and I were in town recently, and we wanted to grab some dinner before heading back to the GTA. We decided on this pub as it was ranked as one of Kitchener's top 3 pubs. This pub was absolutely excellent, it checked all the boxes! It has decor that is typical of any pub, but the food and service was top notch. I can't remember the name of our server, but she was such a delight! She was frequently checking in on us to see if we needed our drinks topped up, and if the food was to our liking. Well the food was delicious and the beer was great too! I noticed halfway through my beer, that there was a crack in the glass. I wasn't upset by this, as this sort of thing happens and can be easily overlooked. I mentioned it to our server, and she took the beer off the bill! She didn't need to do that, but it was definitely a nice surprise! We are a family of 4, and we ate for only $115 (not including tip). Reasonably priced food is definitely a bonus here. Bravo Whale & Ale, we will be back!

First time comming here, I had the Banger with fries and a French Onion Soup. I really enjoyed it and the portions were quite large. It was not busy at all when we were there.

The beer could have been a little bit colder but other than that it was great. My schnitzel lunch was absolutely delicious and filling!
