well we came here for the first time today based on some good things i heard about it. i am sad to say we were not impressed with the food. service was good, but we were the only ones there also. the chicken parmesan i ordered was very small and so thin it curled on the edges. the penne pasta(said spaghetti on menu) was harder than del dente and very dry with the limited sauce it was tossed in. garlic toast was just grilled white sandwich bread with some garlic seasoning. we noticed one of the cooks run to giant tiger and come back with what looked like a can of something with tomato's or tomato sauce in it. could of been for my chicken parm, but cant say for sure. my wifes burger was well done and hard on the edges. it was not appealing and tasted bland. her tossed salad was ok but did have some rusty pieces in it. now we were there before the normal dinner hour, but it seemed like they were not prepared to serve as the lasagna i originally wanted would not be ready for an hour or so. overall i rate it 2 out of 5 stars and probably wont be back.

Disappointing Food -Several times over. When she first opened The Village Bistro we frequented several times a week. Food was flavourful & owner had lots of great ideas. Over the next few months we experienced wrong take out orders, burnt hamburgs & watched as the Friday night waitress talked only to the regular bar patrons . This while another customer had to bring his teapot to the bar so she would pay attention to him. Friends waited for over 20 minutes on a Friday night for beer refill due to inattentive waitress, then left with take-out burnt hamburgs. We recently decided to gave it another chance but were sorely disappointed. The caesar salad was very bland, no cheese, 1 small piece chopped bacon, a few onions. We had asked for dressing on side but yet again was put directly in/onto salad. A caesar salad with no protein (except for little bacon), bland dressing & no cheese was $11. We also ordered a hamburger which was dry, no longer any flavour & was burnt:( We will not ever be returning, we have given them enough chances!

The Village Bistro is located in a sad looking strip mall in a residential area off of Fischer-Hallman Road, but don't let that discourage you. The interior is nicely decorated and inviting. The Village Bistro was actually packed with locals enjoying their evening meal as we walked in. There was live music playing in the background provided by the acoustic sounds of Paul Schultz. The owner, Keri sat us down and explained that it was a bad night as her kitchen was flooded but it was business as usual. Our waitress came over right away to take our drink orders
