Review Old King Bistro - Kitchener

Nice fresh food, excellent service. Our server was happy and looked like she loved her job and was proud of what she was doing and the resto. The owner came out a couple of times to check that everything was ok.

My favourite breakfast place! The food is really on point and the owners are super friendly. Also enjoy the whole experience.

I love this place! It's small and cosy, local family owned, very well priced and most importantly, absolutely delicious. The owners/staff are beyond friendly and so sweet. The picture is the King's Florentine Benedict (HOMEMADE BUTTERMILK BISCUITS? YES PLEASE)!

Looks can be deceiving... I was almost fooled by the appearance of the Old King Bistro but am so glad I went in. It was very clean and cozy, with lovely jazz music playing. Service was prompt and personable. Our food was exactly what I needed- fluffy French toast with homemade berry sauce and real (!!!) maple syrup, perfect eggs, yummy ham and fluffy but crispy potatoes with fresh avocado on the side. Very affordable for the quality. It seems like a family business with a lot of care put into the details. If I was local to Kitchener, I’d be a regular. I can’t recommend Old King Bistro enough!

My first visit to the Old King Bistro this morning in a party of four. I was tempted by the Chicken & Waffles with Sriracha maple syrup, and it was very tasty. I nice delayed kick on the front of my tongue from the syrup. The chicken was lightly breaded and very juicy. I was a bit disappointed with the Belgian waffle; it was overly crispy, so didn't absorb the syrup well, and it broke into smaller bits when I cut it with my knife. Still, the overall presentation was nice and it was flavourful. There was a tasteful stream of soft jazz music playing in the background and the staff were both friendly and attentive. A great discovery and definitely worth visiting again!

Quiet little place with decent food and affordable prices. Service was on the slow side.

I had the squires rations, aka breakfast poutine, and it was delicious. Kind of like a breakfast skillet, but with hollandaise sauce. The woman who served us was super nice and attentive. Would definitely go back here again.

A really nice and cozy place for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Tried their chicken on waffles and was quite happy with the taste. It comes with a sriracha maple syrup sauce which has a nice kick to it. Will be visiting again next weekend probably.

Nice people, good service, variety of food offerings. I'm not giving a 5 star review because our eggs were over cooked and the English muffin seemed a bit stale. We will go back and give it another try though. Edited to add second review for our experience today: The eggs were perfectly cooked this time. The service was still great. This time the chicken and waffles were the only disappointment. The chicken was a very flat piece that was stringy, tough to cut and was somehow full of water (like water ran out of it...not chicken juices, water). There was also very little sriracha syrup drizzled over so the waffles were bland. They were apologetic and stated the chicken I was served was not typically what would come with that dish (it would have been better to tell me they do not have chicken and waffles available than serve a dish that was substandard). I was offered a replacement meal but the rest of the table would have been done their meals before I was able to get a new order up. We will go back for a third time but might have to just stick to the basics.

after returning back to canada after 2 years away, I ordered breakfast from old king bistro, and what a taste of home!! excellent food, with very big portions- you definitely get your moneys worth but most importantly it tastes really great lot's of great menu options Definitely recommend!

Delicious menu, well priced, made & served with a real love for food. Love the coffee! A really nice Medium Breakfast Blend, that's a custom roast, smooth & bitterless. Top items are the Kings Benedict (BEST Hollandaise sauce in KW!) & the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. If you like the basics, have the breakfast special :)

Great breakfast and at a price that doesn't make your jaw drop. 2 adults and 1 child (who ordered an adult size meal) costed us less than $30, everything tasted great, and we did not have to wait long at all for our food. Will be returning, hopefully tomorrow for breakfast again ����

Picked up a meal to go yesterday and golfed it down in less than 5 minutes. SO delicious and definitely left me craving more! I will be coming back to eat in at the restaurant. Gorgeous updating done and beautiful atmosphere! 10/10 would recommend!

we go often for a quick breakfast spot love the wifi as well my old Jamaica hang out bathrooms still remind me of some real fun nights out!!! food is great and early $5 breakfast special works for me!!!

I arranged breakfast for 36 family members the morning after a family wedding. Old King Bistro was very accommodating to my needs. The food came out fast and was excellent! When I plan any event in the future, whether it is at their restaurant or catered, I will certainly consider them!

I've loved our food (still eating actually and had to review right away!) great variety and everything is homemade in house! Homemade burger is fantastic too! Very polite and courteous staff, eager to see you happy � (Best butternut squash soup I've ever had!)
