My boyfriend and I decided to try this place after reading the amazing reviews and wow were the reviews right on point! The chicken fajita and Midnight Special were unbelievably flavourful, fresh and we're made with quality ingredients! The spices were amazing and the soups were made to order, not just warmed up in a microwave. The owner was very friendly and helpful and made very good recommendations. Don't let the exterior fool you! Everyone must try this place and we guarantee you will be hooked! We will definitely be regulars now!!!
Great little place. The ingredients are fresh, portions are a decent size and the price is right.
The burrito ranchero is really good and so is the midnight special.
I'll definitely be going back.
Great lunch. I like the midnight special and the ranchero burritos. Jose the owner is always friendly and remembers the regulars.
Amazing. I've been here about 7 times now, and all of his food never ceases to amaze me.
I've never had a better burrito, and his other food is also excellent.
10/10
Yum. We have been ordering from El Asador for over 6 years. Never disappointed with the taste, freshness or portion size. The owner/chef is always pleasant and remembers me and my address between orders. (sometimes 6 months later). We have introduced many of our friends and family to this taste delight in downtown Kingston
Quick and great place to get a good lunch or dinner. Don't let the front scare you off. The owner is a great guy who makes a good meal.
Kingston's best Mexican. When I went to El Asador I ordered the Bean Burrito, with a side of guacamole ($8 on a 12" tortilla).
Being a vegetarian and frequently ordering Bean Burritos at various restaurants I was amazed at the amount of flavour the chef managed to pack into those beans. The texture was varied and the beans tasted very fresh. The guacamole was mild and smooth - a perfect complement to the flavour of the beans.
All of the ingredients were served at their prime - the tortilla was moist and pliable, the lettuce still had its crunch, and the cheese was the perfect amount so it felt neither overpowering nor missing, from the burrito. I would have ordered a second wrap in a heartbeat, if the chef hadn't been so generous with his servings the first time around - for 8$ it satisfied my hunger and more.
Truly one of the greatest restaurants I've run across in my 4 years in Kingston, and a 'cant-miss-it' if you enjoy mexican cuisine.
Take out only but great food especially late night after a night on the town. The cook is a former chef at Curry Original and his menu is Indian meets Mexican. Imagine beef madras in a wrap and you'll get the idea. Great, cheap, flavorful food.
