We celebrated the Father's Day yesterday. Food was amazing, best naan we have ever had. Spice level was perfect. Authentic cuisine. Recommend highly to visit this restaurant. Thanks to all Servers including Manager for their great customer service.

I feel a greater effort could be placed into the appearance and cleanliness of the restaurant. The food was average. Mushrooms were delicious but the chicken was sweet.

Thank you for the amazing service. We ordered mix vegetable curry, roti, dal and rice. Balanced spices, right quantity and comforting food. I felt like I'm eating homemade food. Senior Management is willing to take constructive feedback, I appreciate that. Thank you to the chef and Pranab for the amazing chat.

ALERT!!! Read before u visit... don't be fooled by the reviews... Original??? Come on needs a name change for sure.. may be Curry duplicate.. worst food I have had ever.. Yellow color power everywhere. All Rice pulavs + biryanis + gravies was colored and with just salt... no other spices or taste or flavor.. Ask for spicy u will get a cup of chilli powder added in there.. Curry quantity is way too less. Owner gives suggestions to order more curries as a sales tactics.. Too costly!!! Not even worth any money!!

Indian food is blend of spices, but this was nothing close to it! It was bland and had absolutely no flavor to it. It was expensive and not worth it, it also took alot of waiting! It was just some turmeric rice and when we asked for spicy they mixed it with chilly powder, The gravies were also mixed with turmeric powder and chilli powder, it had no flavor at all. Our hands were stained because of the turmeric powder. We were very disappointed with this experience!!!

We visited the hotel with large group of people and with small kids. When we asked for table inside they told table was reserved. So we took patio, but we had a uninvited guest as cat and it came and seated in one of the chair where we had kids and kids were frightened. Coming to food, We ordered Naan, gravy and chicken briyani, naan was not cooked properly and when we asked for replacement for naan, waiter said no oven is repair, so we cannot give replacement naan. if the tandoori stove is repair then I don't know how will they serve food for upcoming guest who had table reserved🤔 Coming to briyani, it was just rice mixed in chicken with food color and salt, if you know what a briyani is then definitely I wouldn't recommend this. Gravy, Lamb vindaloo is just cooked with red chilli no other taste I can feel. Friends ordered pulav, is just mixed of food color with basmati rice, which didn't had jeera even. Only food that was good is tandoori chicken. Rest all the food which we ordered was really bad. Quantity of gravies is also too less and that didn't had much taste even, also price is too high.

I tried Shrimp Madras. Chef thought it is just chilli and shrimp. Taste is very worst. Dont try that.

We just moved to Kingston and we’re looking for some good Indian food. We did not find it here. Despite the bad reviews we gave it a shot and were so disappointed. The Aloo Gobi was a salt bomb and the Samosas were greasy and had no Indian spice!! We ordered garlic naan but found no garlic. Time to try the next restaurant!

Just great, and very reasonably priced too! The folks there are nice, and I can tell that the food is always prepared fresh by the taste. The paneer is also definitely made in house- I kid you not, it's better than a good mozzarella (never thought I'd say that, but it's just that good).

Terrible and disappointing food.. not just Indian food. Very poor attitude of staff. Simply avoid and go to Tim Hortons for a much better meal. Looks like the chef lost his tongue for flavors

Always Great. I have eaten here dozens of times. It is always fresh and delicious. Service is very attentive. A true pleasure to eat here.

I ordered the butter chicken and I have to say I was pretty dissapointed with what I receieved. The butter chicken was sweet (flavoured with sugar and cocunut?) and lacked flavour.. The chicken was very bland tasting. Also, it wasnt cheap for the portion size I received.. Would not repeat

Delicious!! best Indian restaurant in Kingston hands down!!
Gee
Love the place. My wife and I have tried all of the Indian restaurants in town but 90% of the time end up back at the Darbar. Also whenever we have friends from out of town & especially the UK (curry lovers) we always head there. The Dansak is the best in town, the Naan is great, the Darbar rice is my favorite and always washed down with a few beers! Good, friendly service and easy to park outside. Also still reasonably priced

Lunch and Supper visits. Ashok and Mafuz run this place with a wizard chef in the kitchen. They serve first class Indian fare from Mulligatawny soup to pakora through Biryanis and curries where all ingredients are lavish and well cooked. My wife and I eat there all the time as its's our favourite Indian Restaurant in Kingston and we normally get a super three course meal for about $40 - we have cokes to drink and Mango ice cream for dessert, soup or pakora, papadom and garlic nan bread and smashing beef or chicken or shrimp curry (madras is very hot) but the plain curry is fine and tasty without burning one to death. They supply a chillie sauce of special Punjabi origin for pumping up the heat factor! Absolutely the best Indian restaurant in Kingston and anywhere between Montreal and Toronto, in our opinion!

Excellent food and great service. We've been coming here for years and have always been happy with everything.

First try. I was disappointed with my first visit to Darbar for takeout. The price was good, less then $35 for two meat dishes, appetizer, rice and naan but the food lacking. The chicken Korma was insipid looking and very bland. The palao rice is suppose to have "whole cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaves and be garnished with fried onion" mine had one cardamom seed and tasted like plain white rice. The one shinning star was the beef vindaloo, spicy and with plenty of meat.

Best indian food in kingston. Have eaten at Darbar several times, and at the other Indian places in Kingston. Darbar is definitely the best Indian food in town. Service and atmosphere is quite good and the prices are better than the other places.
Good location, good prices, great food !!

Nice atmosphere. Great service. The vindaloo is brutally spicy but good. A bit pricy for supper.

Best Indian in town!

Good Indian. Don't know why the rating in Urbanspoon is so low - pretty good indian. Food here was very spicy - I can normally order the Madras and be alright however it was almost too spicy for me and the Vindaloo was out of this world spicy.

Better and cheaper than most other options in Kingston.
