Review The Works Craft Burgers & Beer - Kingston

We tried the works in Kingston. The burgers are good and lots of fries. The prices are average to high. The service was good and the drinks are big. The service was good a bit of wait but it was within the acceptable range. The place is nine and has nice street view . I wasn’t a big fan of the fries I think they didn’t change to oil for a while . I recommend this place .

This place used to be great. I used to love coming here when I had the money. But the last two years have been horrible experience after horrible experience. Raw burgers were one thing but this last pickup order we made had moldy buns. Absolutely disgusting. Do not eat here. There are some amazing other burger joints that are worth your time.

Had rad burgers at The Works! 🍔 3 of us left full and happy there were 2 servers working and they worked together very well both were super sweet and always making sure we had everything we needed while we were there I had the new knock your plants off burger with plant based cheese 🌱🧀 Also these guys use the impossible burger which imo defeats the beyond by miles. (Kilometers here).

It has a great food and I love it. But today I was travelling with two kids from Toronto to Ottawa and I stopped by to have lunch. A woman came from the kitchen with no patience and asked me to read the paper in front of the the door and told me they are closing. I read and it’s was written “closed from 2 to 4”. It was 13:55 and the restaurant was full of clients. Ok, I don’t want to make anyone gets late but I’d appreciate more education when advising you are closing. We should be polite with everyone. Disappointed. She talked to me so rude… An advice: treat each person as unique, no matter who. I felt so bad… like a pigeon, and I loved the place 🙁

My husband and I ordered dinner for our anniversary, I got the son of a beach (picture attached) it came with I swear a can of sun dried tomato's (all the red pieces in the photo are tomato), NO sun of a beach sauce and not ripe very hard old avocado as they were so brown, AND hardly any feta?? I also got my husbands bun and he got mine, His burger had the same very hard very brown avocado and a poutine with granules in it almost like dirt? I don't know if they make there own fries and didn't clean the potato's but I even took a bite and was chewing very hard granules. The meal wasn't edible and by the time skip the dishes agreed to a refund it was too late to order anything else. So disappointed as the quality keeps going down hill, we used to get the works often but lately something is always wrong and this evening will be our last.

I've been dying to try the works forever. I finally did tonight and I have to say I'm extremely underwhelmed. I got the Sk8r Boy. There's hardly any peanut butter, the burger is way over cooked, only 2 small pieces of bacon one slice of cheese and regular unseasoned fries. This was not worth $26.

Horrible service! My husband and I went for lunch today at 1pm with our 9 month old baby. The waitress was annoyed we had a baby and sat us away from the other diners. She talked about how my baby was a liability if someone tripped over the highchair. 14 minutes after we were seated, we were still not asked about drinks... there were 2 other tables which both had their food already. We decided to leave to get service else where. When we left, she had been talking to one of the tables for over 6 minutes. I remember why I haven't visited this location in many years!!

We arrived at 730. Ordered very simple meals (3 burgers and 1 kids Kraft dinner) and it took over 1 hour. We watched a multitude of take out orders get priority. It takes 5 minutes to make kraft dinner. But my 2 year old was so done by the time it came, it was such a waste. Normally we wouldn't stop here for food but we were close by leaving a swimming activity and everyone was ready for di new. It seems that it took 2 seconds to charge us $100 and get take out containers though. The food was good but the experience was horrendous.

Having looked through the comments, me and my friend decided to go there but it was a big disappointment for both of us. I don't think this place is as good as it has been praised in the comments. Reasons are as following:
- We wanted the patty medium cooked but it was partly burned, and highly dry. I definetely did not enjoy it.
- I got a man-o-cave burger, and the bacon was so dry that it felt like nibbling a paper.
- Caramelized onion and the cheese were the only good things in my burger.
- Fries were bland, too. Overcooked and greasy.
If it wasn't a "gourmet" place, I'd be partly okay with the burger but in this situation you can absolutely get a way better burger for 20 bucks. Or just simply go to the Mc Donald's instead.

This place is amazing. The hubby and I try to go once a month for date lunch! We are always trying something new. as they have so many awesome Items to try.I love the onrion ring tower and the 7th heven spinage dip! They also have the best frys in town!

This is a great gourmet burger joint. It's a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. There is an incredible variety of burgers here and it's a lively atmosphere too.

I agree with quite a few of the reviews the burger itself is bland, now if you could smuggle in a burger patty from, say, Burger King and add toppings from the works, then you'd. Be on to a memorable taste experience.

Great burgers at The Works! I think the Kingston location is definitely better than the Toronto one. The service was quick, food was great and prices were pretty reasonable.

Proudly Canadian. 100% Beef. People Pleaser. These three words truly describe The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro... it offers a relaxed and funky dining experience with elaborate and handcrafted creations.

Good burgers, lots of custom options, great environment. The burgers are fantastic here, It is absolutely on another level when compared to your fast food restaurants. Patties are think and juicy, greens are fresh and crispy and the options to customize your burger are endless. My first time here I had to take a couple of extra minutes to go through the menu, I understand that the restaurant offers a variety to options, but sometimes this can slow down a newbie like myself. The service is fast, considering I went on Saturday and it was packed! Would definitely come back for another tasty burger!

Amazing Burgers. Great Staff that are so friendly and very welcoming.
Love visiting the works they never run out of selection of burgers to choose from.

Great place, but only occasionally. This place has the greatest selection of burgers (and burger patties, wow!) and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. it's kinda pricey though, but definitely worth it if you wanna treat yourself.

Insane(ly good). The interior with the big pipes, fences, brick walls, and more really caught me off guard the first time i visited the works, and I was curious to what kind of food i would find there. But it turned out to be great, I would consider it one of my favourites now. The fronts burger on a chicken breast is the best ever!

So many choices!. My girlfriend and I met up with her uncle and cousins for a casual dinner as they were passing through town on a Saturday night.
We had a group of six, but had to be split into a group of 4 and one of 2. We felt it a tad odd that the quartet got their meals about 5 minutes earlier than the pair.
As I assume most often are, we felt somewhat inundated by the breadth of the menu choices. We eventually settled on the triathlete's reward turkey burger and a peanut butter and bacon cheeseburger.
My girlfriend enjoyed her burger, and was impressed as turkey burgers can often be tough to prepare, but she felt the intensity of the chipotle sauce should have earned it a "spiciness warning" in the menu.
While the whole product came together nicely, I found the actual beef in my burger was just a tad lacking in quality. I think that, while they have more options at The Works, Harper's down the street has a better overall product.

Absolutely fantastic. Fantastic burgers. Onion rings to die for. Cold beer and great service. It does not get any better!

My burger costs what???. Four people- 1 ostrich burger, 1 buffalo burger, two double cheese burgers, 1 margarita, 2 large milkshakes, 1 pop and 2 desserts- almost $160 yikes- albeit the food was good and the service was excellent after waiting almost an hour to get in, we got a window seat and were stared at by pedestrians as we ate. Loud music, hard to have a conversation.
Lou67lou
Food great. Music way too loud!!

I am impressed. They really make a decent burger!

Great burgers. Went here for the first time today and was very impressed ! Everything we ordered was delicious, my burger had wild mushrooms, brie cheese and crispy bacon, SOOOO good!! My husband order the "Sweet Ride" which had caramelized onions, ripe pears and brie cheese, it was excellent as well. The kids burgers are just the right size and also very tasty. Overall we really enjoyed our experience, our waitress was FANTASTIC and yes the wait for a burger is about 20 mins which is not unreasonable when you consider they are cooked fresh to order. We will definitely be going back to check out some of the other unique offerings.

Holy yum. Ordered the Sexy Burger, and oh my it was absolutely delicious, although I wouldn't order it again because it was RIDICULOUSLY drippy. I love the assortment of toppings they have, but y'know, it is a bit pricy for a burger. I still can't wait to go back. It's great that they give you different patty options too. Maybe I'll try the mushroom patty one day.

Really not sure why the rest of the reviews are so positive. At its foundation this burger place fails because the meat is bland - truly bland. Yes the choice of burgers and toppings is astounding but also a bit too much. Concentrating on toppings and ignoring the meat is not acceptable in a burger joint. MB rating 5.

Good Food...Horrible service. The works is often espoused as a hidden gem of northern ontario which it definitely lives up to in terms of food quality. My first visit however was less than amazing made so by an EXTREME wait over 3 times the original wait time given upon arrival, apparently of no concern to the staff. Subsequently when a table finally became available it took another 10 minutes for someone to even attempt to clear it which they then proceeded to do at the most leisurely pace imaginable in full view of my party and I. When we were finally seated (nearly 2 hours) since we had arrived, it took another 30 min for our food to come (bearing in mind they are only burgers for gods sake!) the orders were mixed up with the wrong sides and toppings specifically told to be NOT included were in fact present, clearly they have compiled a menu far too complicated for them to fulfill it effectively. Once we had been seated and sorted out the food it was quite fantastic, one of the best burgers i have ever had but don't plan on going when you get hungry, plan to go an hour or so before you think you will be hungry and then order the opposite of what you really want and everything should work out great for you :-)

Wonderful!. Although it took a while for us to be seated , it was worth the wait! The service was exceptional and the food was great! Large portions and cooked perfectly !

Awesome!!. We stopped by on our way to Toronto. The food was A1 and the service was exceptionnal. We were even able to get service in French, wich is very impressive outside of Québec.

This was definitely one of the best moment of our week-end.

The menu is a multi-step mess, with a seemingly unending choice yet still so difficult to find something palatable. My nacho burger was a truly three-dimensional offering, stacked pompously and exceedingly difficult to manage. The burger is interesting, and perhaps well-conceived, with fresh and unexpected ingredients.
Glutton For Gastronomy
All in all, the food was way over-priced and mediocre. I wouldn’t come here for a regular burger but with their “everything but the kitchen sink” gimmick and kooky titles, it makes it an enjoyable experience from time to time.

Wow! Talk about choice... as Jo detailed, the amazing number of selections were almost overwhelming except for the organization of the menu. In fact, it was a topic for conversation as the six of us discovered some of the unique combinations and shared them around the table. This really got the juices flowing as several times I changed my mind about which
