Review Go Italian - Kingston

Presentation was good, servers were nice but the food sub-par. Alfredo sauce was weak and disappointing, no garlic and the sauce was actually sweet. For the price point we expected better.

Nice restaurant with ample parking. Food is very reasonably priced and the quality exceeds its price tag. Serving size is generous (but not large). Service was very professional and welcoming. We will repeat as it was our first time there. Looking forward trialing other cheesecakes as the cinnamon bun one was absolutely great.

Found this restaurant while driving on the 401, we were all in the mood for Italian and the reviews were good so why not. We were a group of 9, we were accommodated with no hesitation. Service was excellent, and the food was simply delicious. Simple Italian food. The braised beef ravioli was well worth the stop. Keep up the good work.

They were very accommodating, super friendly. The restaurant is super clean, bathrooms, even got to see into the kitchen and it was super clean. They know what they're doing and I highly recommend it.

Acceptable for a neighborhood restaurant when you don't want to cook, but also don't want to go downtown. The food is good, but not great. Prices are fair. Staff are friendly. Lots of takeout options and usually ready fairly quickly.

very good, ordered a take and bake lasagna, for a family dinner. Everyone was very impressed (it almost compared to my moms homemade lasagna, which nobody can beat), as the pasta was fresh, and the cheese was extraordinary! Overall 10/10! Would love to try their pizza next visit as the cheese is sooo good!

It's a lovely atmosphere with absolutely delicious food. I ordered a shrimp & sun-dried tomato pesto pasta and it had a wonderful creamy sauce and a good balance of flavours. We had the arancini to start and I highly recommend it!

I didnt realize they had dine in and a liquor license to boot! They even had Crown Royal!! Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The chicken parmesan with fettuccine was excellent. Great portions (had leftovers for lunch next day)and good value. Definitely will go back

First time and last time customer. I ordered the cheese tortellini and was so disappointed. $20 for a small over cooked uncheesed disgusting meal. Would not recommend.

I had the pleasure of modelling for Go Italian Restaurant today and BOY OH BOY am I ever glad I said yes. I've wanted to taste their food for quite some time now and am SO IMPRESSED with their menu and quality. I had the opportunity to sample more than one dish and everything was SO DELICIOUS I am already planning my next take-out or date night. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The new owners have really stepped up their game!

The appetizers, entrees and dessert were delicious. We had the mussels, charcuterie, risotto followed by the seafood portofino. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We will indeed be back again soon!

Terrible experience. I waited an hour and a half for me food which was supposed to be 30-45 minutes. The wait was unnecessary they should have kept it. 90% soup and 10% pasta. What a disgrace. Waste of time. Money and resources. Would not recommend this to a skunk looking for garbage

Too Cold. First visit to this restaurant. The food was quite enjoyable and service was very good. The only problem we had was that it was cold in the restaurant. We originally sat at a seat by the window and the waitress said if we got cool to turn up the thermostat right beside us. Well turning the temperature up did not help, there was a bad draft coming in. Not sure where it was coming from as the door was not open! We requested to move tables and they were happy to move us. The next table was directly in front the entrance, we froze every time the door opened. We may go back but only in warmer weather.

Very disappointing. Extremely disappointed. In the middle of my meal with my daughter on our dinner date we were asked to move tables because someone else wanted our table. We got stuck at a table against the wall. I've never been so offended in my entire life. After all that the person didn't even end up taking the table. Why was that that person entitled to our table?! Then, comes to dessert and asked if we wanted it to go. I was dumbfounded, I've never been asked that before, at a dine in restaurant. I've never felt so unwelcomed, anywhere, ever. Was it because I was there with my young child? Who knows?! Not my idea of how you run a business. You won't be seeing my family or friends again.

Either unorganized or just disrespectful. My husband and two young daughters were standing right at the counter patiently waiting for a table and not one person working there bothered to look up or acknowledge us.
After waiting for 10 min a lady said a table was coming up and they gave it to someone else.
It's too bad because their food is fabulous.
We went to Carmelinda's and had a great dinner.

Great all around. Nice cozy place with delicious comfort food. Not too fancy but just what I like. I Had the Amalfi balsamic chicken sandwich with coastal salad and it was yummy. My husband had the linguini carbonara and it was delicious too. The staff were friendly and the food came out with in 10 to 15 minutes. Great place and we will come back for sure.

Best Italian Neighbourhood Eatery in Kingston. "Come as you are" with family, friends, schoolmates, co-workers, or clients to enjoy delicious fine Italian fare in the best relaxed, cozy neighbourhood eatery in Kingston. You can also enjoy their delicious "take and bake", "hot ready to eat" or catered fare at home, school, sporting venues, parties, or private functions.
Service is attentive, warm, and friendly just like the family who owns and runs it. The ambiance is just right for any occasion - perfectly lit, clean, organized, and decor is comfortable and pleasing to the eye. Photos of Italy personally taken on a family trip to Italy by the owners adorn the walls to give it an authentic feel.
And speaking of authentic - their hot Italian sausage, tiramisu cake, and salads are the best anywhere - this coming from a well travelled food lover. My top 12 favourites are 1) ALL their salads 2) hot Italian sausage 3) tiramisu cake 4) risotto balls 5) spinach and artichoke dip 6) Amalfi balsamic chicken sandwich 7) veal Marsala 8) Robbina vodka penne 9) linguini carbonara 10) thin crust pizza 11) mussels 12) minestrone soup. In no order. Well everything is delicious and very reasonably priced so its hard to decide. Regular visits are a must and if you are from out of town, what a great place to stop for a little rest and some great food. 10++++

Great food and service!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Excellent food and service. Everytime we come here, we are greeted with a warmth that makes us feel like part of the family that runs it. Great spot for get togethers with family and friends.

Not good. Called for pick-up, quoted 30 min, got there and was told would be another 30 min, went home and went back, the order was still hanging at the pass forgotten, was asked to pay first then stood around 15 minutes. And the manager was there the whole time. Lost my business. Was a busy night but that was customer service at its worst.

Tiny Portions, bad food. Nothing good about this place, folks.

Portion size was pathetic. Presentation was laughable, and the service was brutal. My wife picked up the order I had made, and they missed one of the main dishes. I had to go back to pick it up later, and they had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to upgrade my order by adding cheese to my garlic bread for $0.75. No apology or anything.

I spoke with the owner after returning home where opened the take-out dishes. I didn't know how to react - laugh or cry? The owner said the portion sizes where bigger than East Size Mario!>!???! What? I had the chicken parm at East Sides last month and I couldn't finish it. The Go Italian dish could be finished by my 2 year old. An appetizer at best.

0 out of 10.

Great gf food. The food was awesome. The place was a little small but just enough to be cozy. The staff was attentive and warm. The only real complaint was the food came so fast we could not have a deep conversation.

Good food and fun. We brought two of our boys to celebrate to our 35th at Go Italian and had a great time. I had the Seafood Portofino, Nancy the Chicken Marsala and the boys had the lasagna. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the relaxed atmosphere. Thanks Katharine and Alex for your hospitality.

Take N Bake a Weekly Tradition. I recently purchased the large pan of Cheese Cannelloni for a quick dinner with my family. I bought the freshly made pasta that is popped into oven for 40 -50 minutes. After a few bites my fussy teens asked if there was a lot because they were going to eat seconds and thirds; music to my ears. The sauce was divine and the mozzarella, that was spread on top, did not need topping up at home with additional cheese. The price was great and so was the staff. I am definitely going back, probably once a week! Thanks for opening in the West End.
