Review The Pasta Shelf - Kingston

Dave Steacy
Both of the pasta houses in Kingston are top notch and 100% authentic. We ended up at The pasta shelf tonight as my wife partly favors it so amore I guess :) pasta for two* roasted garlic sauce they're home made Italian loaf (they also have a garlic loaf we usually get) and the meatballs the wife has to have. *Tomatoes are my artistic touch and are from Sunharvest guys 🍅

What a treat this afternoon!! Donna and I met friends from Brockville today in Kingston (we came from Brighton) for lunch and we decided to try a new place (as Donna has seen advertised many times on CKWS TV) ... The Pasta Shelf ... One word: WOW! From the first bite I was hooked ... and so was Donna! I had Rigatoni with Sausage & Peppers - Rigatoni in a spicy arrabiatta sauce topped with hot Italian sausage, red & green peppers, smoked white cheddar & smoked mozzarella cheeses. The spice was JUST right ... veggies and noodles cooked PERFECT! Donna had the Rigatoni Parmigiana - Rigatoni in meat sauce with melted mozzarella & parmesan cheese topped with Italian meatballs (and she said the best meatballs EVER!) ... service (Hannah) was awesome and the owner came out to say high ... WORTH the drive!! Next time we're doing Pizza!!

I went there on Valentine's Day and my partner and I were helped by the kindest server named Emily. She perfectly matched our energy and made the long-wait (due to the Holiday) seem like no time at all, and made it a memorable experience. Food was delicious too!

Spent 17 dollars for a lasagna for two. The lasagna consisted of mainly noodles, with limited sauce, and forget ricotta. I always loved the downtown location when the restaurant was open, but I have to say I won't be travelling to get takeout from there again.

Great pasta meal and wonderful waitress by Hailey she even gave our little dog Charlie a treat. Will definitely be back next time we're in Kingston

My family and I went there earlier today. The food was great, and our server was quite nice. Would definitely recommend.

This is our go to every once in a while when we can't figure out what to make for supper. It's what you expect for a take out pasta place and the prices are good. Kids love it, of course.

Great Italian food prepared on site by Marco and crew at this West End Kingston staple. Try the grilled veggie foccacia. Leave the cannoli.

Cold and dirty restaurant in need of a deep clean and Reno. Get rid of the old East side Mario's signs used as decor. Food is either undercooked or over cooked. Mushy pasta, mediocre sauces. Expensive for what you get.

Tasteless. I have no idea how this place can still be in business, it serves up over priced blandness.

The food is just so incredibly bland, I make better stuff at home! Also, you would think the noodles were home made but they are just from a box, and made with far less care than you or I would give.

Save your money and go someplace else! I ordered about $200 worth of various items for a work function and everyone was disappointed. We have not ordered since.

Tasty Italian. My friends and I had to make a stop at Kingston for dinner and we intended to go somewhere across the street but it was fully booked! We then stumbled upon this place and it was a very pleasant place for some good pasta dish. I ordered the spaghetti meatballs and it was pretty tasty! The muscles appetizer had a fantastic sauce! Their pizza was very tasty too! Service overall was average but the waitress was nice to us. I would recommend this to a friend.

Quality of Service. I brought my family and had told them that this was a great restaurant based on the food provided by the Bath Road outlet. We were disappointed by the lack of quality service, lack of ambience - too noisy and the extremely small tables complicated by gigantic plates that crowded the entire table surface. The food was adequate and reasonably priced. We probably won't be back.

Very disappointing. Had heard great things from others but found the food to be too bland.
