Was recommended through others. Unbelievable over the top food experience. Didn't know our server was part owner until we were leaving. Very professional, courteous and friendly. Her service was spot on. Then we found out her husband was the chef. If I could give another star for the flavors and quality of his cooking I would. We will definitely be repeat customers. If your looking for a family owned restaurant serving some of the best comfort food. This is your place.

Super homey feeling at this popular diner. The food just tastes and feels warm and the portions are very generous at cheap prices. The ham in particular is superb compared to other places as it is much thicker, I almost couldn't believe it. Definitely a go to for some comfort food.

My kids absolurely rave about this place so I was looking forward to trying it out and it was so very disappointing. The food is honestly great but the service was really quite terrible. We were there for well over an hour waiting for food, coffee refills were not offered, even water took an excessively long time to arrive. It honestly wouldn't have mattered that it was such a long wait and that service was not exactly friendly except we started noticing that people seated after us were ordering, getting their food and enjoying their breakfast while we were still waiting with no explanation as to why it was taking so long. I'm thinking you may need to be a regular to get friendliness or reasonably good service but after such an experience we definitely won't be back.

Overall a good experience. Service was good. Calamari was a tad overcooked to me, but my husband liked it. I got the baked sole in lemon butter and it was very very good! My husband got the chicken parmesan sandwich and liked it very much as well. Not a super great location for parties of 4 or more, as their bigger tables are limited.

It was a surprise to us to be visiting Carmelinda's Restaurant for the first time given we live only 5-10 minutes away. It must have happened because there must be at least a dozen other restaurants next door and across the street to choose from. Nonetheless, there were a half dozen couples and families enjoying themselves when we arrived at Carmelinda's around 5 pm. Our server was readily available and efficient.
We chose from the specials menu and split a popcorn shrimp appetizer. For my main course, I had cod in a tasty lemony sauce. There were two cod fillets on my plate as well as a roast potato and carrots so I felt I had a very generous meal.
One disappointment was in the beer selection. There were about a half dozen of bottled main brands and no draught, craft or local brands.
While bright and colorful, my companion's salad looked tired and wilted because of the browned lettuce.

Definitely my favorite family restaurant. The food is always delicious, portions are more than generous and I have never been disappointed. There's a wait for the food once ordered but that's because it's made fresh to order and comes out hot and fresh. Love bringing new people to try out the menu. Great staff and great atmosphere. This family restaurant is my absolute favourite place for breakfast in Kingston. Very welcoming servers, great with kids and give them a visit a couple times and they’ll remember you! Fantastic local food.

Went for Brunch on Sunday. The eggs Benedict were very nice. Eggs poached just right and pea-meal bacon delicious. The blueberry waffle however was a disappointment. It was mostly covered with a blueberry pie filling type topping which rendered the waffle below mushy and inedible. I ate the edge and left the toppings. Service was good.

Food was great as always , but unfortunately the service was not ! The waitress never came back to see how was the food or If we needed another drink, as obviously they could tell there was only our table and another at the time and I was making. It very obviously I was wanting another !
