Absolutely amazing service!! The owner was so kind and hospitable. I would definitely come back for the Tabouleh salad and garlic dip. However, there are a few better Persian restaurants that I have personally tried. Nonetheless, the service is the reason this is rated high!

Really enjoyed this Persian/middle eastern restaurant! The kebab barg was juicy and the rice fluffy. The garlic potatoes were very delicious as well!

Don't listen to any reviews that says this is authentic food. The rice was fine. The chicken tastes boiled or something you would buy that is prepackaged from a grocery store. The garlic tastes more like mayo, just like how other reviewers mentioned. Very disappointed. I would not recommend. Packaging similar to a school cafeteria.

Nice place with tasty food ! The team is super nice and welcoming. Nice sport in Kingston for halal food :) we took the family BBQ pack and it was super filling for a family of 3 adults and 2 teenagers.

I didn't receive the right items. Also the chicken wasn't cooked. I called Ali Baba Kabab restaurant and they told me it si not their problem. This is the second time that I order Deluxe Sultani and I don't receive the items they put in the website

Wow. Delicious. Ordered takeout on a Saturday night (and it said they were busy on Google Maps) and still received my food promptly. The food was absolutely beautiful, delicious and fresh as can be. Got the falafel plate and it was presented so beautifully, not to mention they were the best I’ve had in Kingston. The garlic potatoes were roasted and seasoned to perfection - I loved how the garlic sauce was tasty but not overly garlicky. The falafel plate combo with a couple of pitas could easily feed 2 people. I haven’t found takeout that was this fresh, delicious, beautifully presented AND packed with value in ages. Highly recommend!

All dishes freshly cooked, healthy salads, the most delicious rice I have ever eaten, fresh hummus - best cuisine at reasonable prices. I would like such a restaurant in our hometown in Germany, I would be a regular guest.

Great little restaurant in the downtown kingston area. Food was fantastic and the owner made a vegetarian friendly dish for me to enjoy.Their garlic potatoes are heavenly, as is their Baba ghanoush. The tea is also a must try! Their service was impeccable(we got a free dessert, too!), I will definitely be coming back.

Amazing place for students looking for a fresh, tasty bite to eat. This has saved my diet, and my grades on time pressed days. It would be great for my wallet if I didn't go so often. Cannot recommend more for eating out or getting take-out!

Every Saturday after waking up, I go right to Alibaba for an authentic Persian lunch. Friendly staff and owners greet you warmly and serve you with tea first. Alibaba tea. Have you heard about it, but haven't tried it? You should go there to taste Persian rose water in the tea. Not long after I am ordered, while I am still finishing my tea, my food is ready on the table. All the foods are great. Alibaba chicken, Alibaba shish kabobs. All of them. The environment is perfect. Price is reasonable. I have had lunch and dinner with my friends here and they started coming back to this restauran.

Staff was AWESOME. No complaints there. Food was okay. Lentil soup was awesome. Lamb shank decent. Rice delicious. Hummus delicious. Chicken from chicken shawarma HIGHLY resembles the canned chicken breast from Costco and kind of (ah sorry) smelled like tuna. Tasted like bland chicken. Not saying it is, but if it isn't, they could use it and someone like myself would have a hard time telling the difference. Im curious how you prep the chicken for shawarma and as a shawarma lover I would at least appreciate it going on the grill for those crispy bits.

Every time I go back, I remember why this is one of my favourite restaurants in Kingston. The food is delicious and the staff are incredibly friendly and nice! They have huge portion sizes at a reasonable price that is student budget-friendly! They also do a phenomenal job catering for club events!

I was in Kingston for a training and was recommended this place by a few locals. I picked up the food from here twice during my stay for dinner. The chicken and beef both were excellent and fresh, although I got the feeling that the salad was a bit stale. Overall a good experience. I recommend that the staff be a bit friendlier since I did not find them particularly helpful.

This is my favourite place in Kingston for Middle Eastern food! I came here for dinner with my friend and the service was quick, friendly, and went above and beyond (my friend and I received a free soup and dessert!). They are also very accommodating for dietary needs, with many vegetarian options available. Highly recommend, and I will be back for sure!

Ali Baba Kabab is a restaurant you must experience. It is a small, family business run by Ala, who is often seen welcoming and chatting up guests. Him and his staff create a very warm and friendly environment, which is amplified by the beautiful decor of the place. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by staff that bring you the complimentary delicious signature ali baba tea with your menus. <br/>The food is all home made in the kitchen, including all the dips, kebabs and their signature, delicious garlic potatoes. I really enjoyed their falafel as an appetizer, and highly recommend the dips and salads platter to get you started and acquainted with the variety of appetizers they offer (baba ganoush, hummus, garlic dip, dolma, garlic potatoes, and falafel), all for around $10! My go-to main dishes are the juicy, savoury kebabs, including the shish kebab, which is grilled and seasoned filet minon. I recommend the deluxe sultani to have a taste of both the alibaba kebab (chicken breast) and the shish kebab. All the kebabs come with a side of soup or salad, and I recommend the lentil soup! They also serve shwarma plates and an assortment of wraps that are equally delicious.<br/>If you are in a hurry, they do take out or delivery of the exact same menu that is for dine-ins.<br/>The one thing about Ali Baba is that you always leave with a smile and a (very!!!) full belly after! :)

Food is freshly served and delicious. Service is attentive and quick. One of our regular haunts. We especially enjoyed the Ali Baba chicken salad, and felafel plate. Excellent value.

This place has super friendly staff and awesome tea! I bought a few sets of the tea to gift this Christmas! My family will be in love. I am so happy that I found this amazing gem in the heart of Kingston. It's a go to place for amazing food, service, and study session. The decor is stunning with a gorgeous orange ambiance. Also, I can't get enough of the on the grill items. They are so tasty, fresh and home made. And don't get me started on the garlic potatoes, they are to die for..... if I started, you would never get me to stop talking about how delicious they are.

I have been a royal customer at Ali Baba for a very long time. Any meal is excellent there! Their food is healthy and made from scratch. kebabs are so juicy and cooked to perfection. Their portions are very large, I always end up taking leftovers home. It is a must to try in Kingston !!

The food was great. I got the Deluxe Sultani which consisted of the Alibaba chicken and the Kabab Koobideh. The beef kabab was very tender and flavorful. However, chicken was a bit dry. <br/><br/>The service was attentive - but the food took so long to come out. I went for an early dinner so the place was empty, but it still took 35-40 minutes for the food to come out.

Awesome!. There aren't alot of Mediterranean food places in Kingston but have to say that Ali Baba's is the best! Amazing service and food regardless if you get takeout or dine in. Mass amounts of food which will keep you happy for days and the food is so fresh that you never feel guilty eating if you finish off the whole plate in on sitting. Great food and the owner's a gem too! Humble and great international food in the downtown core. Cant go wrong here !

This is one of my favourite places in Kingston. The food is amazing and so cheap. You get a LOT of food for a great price. I recommend the platters, a little bit of everything. Their garlic dip is out of this world.

Lost a bet but won great food!. I am not one for online reviews, but I never knew AliBaba existed until my friend Christina suggested we lunch there prior to our drive home. Not every place can create a good kabab, so I worried. I now know this place is great, and I want to draw attention to it.I made a bet that I lost with my friend about this place, but with the good food I also won!<br/>Thank goodness Kingston is showing more diversity of the foods. Coming from Montreal, we have a vast variety of foods to try and we are huge fans of the kabab after living in the middle east for a year. I was unsure of a small town restaurant living up to the legacy of our favorite places...such as Yas and LA Khaima Cuisine Nomade, and our latest kabab place Antep.<br/>ALIBABA SURE AS HELL HIT THE SPOT! Don't miss the most tender shish kabab yet! Go to AliBaba in Kingston! You will have no regrets.<br/>My only question is for the next time my family is eating at AliBaba, should we get those amazing shish kabab or try something else? Good food!. I have been to Ali Baba many times. The price is affordable for students, I normally spend $10-$15/dish. The food quality is very large, I always have leftover to take home. Almost all dishes are served with complimentary salads. I really like the Ali baba chicken, highly recommended if you haven't tried it. The chicken is tender and flavourful. <br/>I have also tried their falafel wrap, it is cheap and tasty. If you don't have a lot of time to sit down and eat lunch, the best option is to get a falafel wrap with garlic potatoes. The two dishes cost less than $10 and keep you full for the entire afternoon.

Over priced food and rude staff. The staff were very rude and demeaning. Food was OK but eating experience was not enjoyable. The staff members at the front did not know how to work the computers and were rude when they made a mistake. This is also the only kebab/shawarma place that charges for adding pickles or garlic sauce to your meal. The staff need an attitude adjustment and a reality check. Be warned 2 salads with wilted lettuce and beef costs $40! Check out Mr. Donair on division, the prices are amazing unbeatable, the are just a small place but they NEVER charge extra when you ask for garlic or pickles not to mention the kind and welcoming staff. And food is amazing!!!

Amazing food. I went to Ali Baba for the first time since I recently moved to kingston, I ordered alibab chicken, the food was amazing, the chicken was tender and full of flavour. Highly recommended if you haven't tried their food. I will definitely go back.

Great food and great people!. I am out in Inverary and choose to have this food before any other option...it is the best! Always fresh and tasty, the food has been great each time we have been in restaurant or have taken out to friends. So far, we have shared this food with about 22 people and only rave reviews were heard! The staff are friendly and do their best to make you feel like family...they genuinely seem happy to see you. I recommend this restaurant for any time you crave a new taste a cut above many!

Fresh and Tasty Food. We went to visit a friends over the weekend in Kingston, and we got invited to this restaurant and the food was sooo testy and server was very helpful.

Really Good Food. Walked in here with my roommate when downtown and not in the mood for curry, decided to try this place out. Food tasted good and fresh, with surprisingly good presentation, good use of colour. The falafels here are absolutely fantastic, and I normally aren't that big of a falafel fan. Would definitely recommend.

Ottawa boys visit Kingston. We used a search engine to come across the Urbanspoon to find a sandwich place. Someplace that was revered by the locals in Kingston. We happened upon the Ali Baba Kabab restaurant. Now the name said it all. <br/>They serve magic infused custom made herbal tea. The tea was sweet and very nice to drink. <br/><br/>Now to the nitty gritty. We were provided a sample of pita and garlic. Now this was a very good garlic sauce. Not overpowering, quite smooth like a premium 20 year old scotch. The garlic sauce is homemade and delivers a suttle yet very tasting sauce.<br/>The Sultani combination plate was quite tasty. The chicken was cooked just right and was mixed with various spices including saffron. Its the restaurants signature spices. The Kabab Koobideh was moist, spiced ground beef. It was quite refreshing to have, compared to some of the other places that overcook the beef. All plates came with a very hot rice mix and salad. <br/>Service was great as we arrived in the afternoon before dinner. The atmosphere was quaint and very appeasing. Clean and tidy restaurant.<br/>The menu needs some work and rearranging, but the food was quite exceptional to us. Sure you could go to McD's, but for the same price as a burger combination plate (give or take $2), I would almost always choose home made food here at Ali Baba Kabab. <br/>We frequent different food places all the time. We found this place to be very good.

Not bad. If you are craving some Middle Eastern / Iranian / Afghani style food, this is a decent option. Definitely not the best I've had, but for downtown Kingston this is suffice.<br/><br/>I would avoid the shawarma (which is too bad b/c I typically love shawerma). What I think they are much better at are their more Iranian dishes. I had a lamb shank which was fall off the bone good. The King Fish special was also good. The lentil soup and rice are also solid.

A great cafe alternative in Kingston. We have been to this small cafe twice now and have had very nice and inexpensive meals both times. The owners are friendly and the food fresh. The falafels are not at all greasy and the pitas have a generous portions of meat. It is a small cafe so if it gets busy the service will be a little slower. Nevertheless, you will be provided with free tea and we even received samples of the falafels. This cafe is well worth a visit if you want something different in Kingston.

My favorite dish is the Chicken Sultani and the garlic dipping sauce is absolutely fabulous! The food is always fresh and well-prepared and the staff are very friendly. You should better try McDonalds instead. Firstly I must mention to you that my friends and I, we like trying new cuisines & flavours, we go out for food at least twice a month and we usually don't pay over 20$ per person. I must also declare to you that we don't have strange willing on food. <br/><br/>We decided to go to this restaurant as we wanted to eat traditional Iranian cuisine. We reached the place at about 15:00 and our server was not friendly at all had an unpleasant looking on everyone all the time.The menu has no certain specialty, four kinds of kabebs similar the one to each other with no main difference. I don't think that any of the dishes made in the real-time...the temperature of the food was good but I am sure they used microwave oven. The quality was just ok but nothing unusual, special or exciting. The quantity on each dish was unpleasantly moderate.<br/><br/>In a few words...you should better try McDonalds on the main road...opposite the restaurant. That bad!!

HORRIBLE. I went to ali baba over the weekend and it was horrible, not only was the service very slow, the food was so stale, i had come home after and threw up , consider what kinda of food hazard there restaurant had, i would recommend not to dine there.

Ate there a few times & ordered take out tonight. In house, not bad, not great - take out was awful!!!! I think the cooks need a trip home to learn how Mid East food should be prepared & taste. Seriously offended tonight & would have preferred not to eat!!!

Complimentary tea was lovely!. Loved the tea, food was surprisingly non-greasy, not overly salty or overly garlicky. Lentil soup was good, as were the potatoes, hummus and pita. The prices mostly reflect the food you're getting. <br/><br/>To the staff/management: please be more careful to refill the water/offer water. And do not forget/confuse orders, we were offered a salad we didn't ask for, my mother's order never arrived (falafel plate - though we didn't need it in the end as she wasn't that hungry) and the dolma appetizer was brought after our main dishes had arrived...which was quite useless. <br/><br/>Service was a little slow, but understandable (there was a help wanted sign outside).<br/><br/>Also, the table found on the left hand side (in the window from outside) suffers from a chilly draft whenever anyone opens the door...this is quite uncomfortable, I would avoid it on cool nights - unless you want to dine with a jacket on.

Good food, not enough spice. The food was good and fresh; I had a falafel sandwich and it was tasty and not at all greasy, but not quite spicy enough for me (I'll ask for extra spice next time). Very reasonably priced too. The restaurant itself looked welcoming, friendly, and unpretentious - I might stay and eat in next time instead of getting take out.

Try the lentil soup!. This was my first visit to Ali Baba's (after living in the middle east for many years) and I have to say the lentil soup was better than any I'd tried while I was living abroad. Perfectly seasoned with a slight spicy heat. The falafel was crunchy and had zingy tahini sauce drizzled on top. My main - the chicken shwarma platter had a gorgeous garlic dip and hummous, salad, rice and was topped with juicy sliced chicken breast. It came with pita bread which was at first really warm and soft, but later turned hard. That would be my only complaint - that they make softer bread for dipping. All in all a really satisfying lunch. Definitely worth a try!

Food quality is outstanding! There is something for everyone: the vegan, vegetarian, and the meat lovers. Prices are reasonable given their large (and filling) portion sizes. Their lentil soup is legendary! Great service, too. My server this evening was Matt and he's been awesome!

Fresh and delicious. I have ordered from Ali baba about 5 times already, and everytime, the food is non greasy, fresh and absolutely delicious with its mix of middle-eastern and Iranian flavours! You taste it once, and you are hooked. Highly recommended! And the prices are very reasonable, especially for students like myslef.
