Review Shawarma El Mina - Kingston

Firstly I would like to say, This place never disappoints. Today they forgot my hummus and my garlic sauce. I phoned the restaurant to let them know, not really expecting much, considering we are just a couple of days after a storm. The man who answered the phone was so kind told me he was going to send someone back with both sauces, they most certainly did LOL and then some. I don’t know if you can tell but these are not the normal sizes that you get with a small Shawarma. I am grateful for their kindness. Thank you so much for coming back and giving me a couple of days worth of delicious munching. Much love and light.

Good food, a little pricey but no qualms there because it’s good quality. Sauces are balanced and don’t overpower other flavours. The shawarma was well put together and didn’t dismantle while eating. Portions were sizeable and the owners feel like warm people. Overall, it makes for a perfect mom n pop shop.

We came for lunch and got the falafel and the chicken shawarma wraps - both were great! They were stuffed really full, so great value for the price. Staff were also very friendly in greeting us and while preparing our order, would definitely come back!

My Family ordered take out. Chicken shawarma and falafel platters. They were delicious. Every part of the meal flavourful. Plenty of food, our 19 year son was full and we had enough for lunch the next day. I don’t write reviews but this was a must!

Had the chicken shawarma large platter here. Price - 18.50~ after tax. Taste wise - 3/5. Great customer service and good quantity for a large shawarma. Got the potatoes, rice, chicken, hummus, garlic sauce and some veggies in a big box. Definitely recommended.

Best shawarma I have ever eaten! And I have eaten a lot of shawarma! Me and my wife love this place. Great service. Family owned. Wonderful people!

Amazing flavour, huge portions, very affordable. We LOVED the kafta and chicken kebabs. Hummus, garlic hummus were a real highlight. We will definitely be going back!

Had the chicken shawarma platter and I must say, the portions are gigantic which is great because the prices are minor in comparison. I must say though that the chicken was dry and needed to be smothered in garlic sauce to compensate for the dryness. The potatoes were rather cold as well and I did not receive a pita with my meal (even though it was advertised that you get a pita with a platter). Over all I would say it was good for the west end, and you must be doing something right as the lines are very long at times. Today I waited 40+ minutes and lastnight I tried to go but would have ended up waiting 2 hrs (most likely) and was especially worse when there at options for huge meals (4 pitas for families) and there's only one man working and creating the dishes. More staff would be a wonderful change and you would be able to push people through at a quicker rate. Also, offering things to people waiting would benefit as well- I love Ali Babas because they offer you tea while you wait! I know I would be happy with a tea while I was waiting. I give the garlic sauce an A+!

Pretty good, just like other posters, it's nice to have a decent shawarma place in kingston. Good Friday, place was packed and the staff did they best job they could considering how busy it was. Food was excellent, my wife and kids ordered 5 shawarma mixed plates, portions were huge and great price. $85 for all 5 of us to eat and a couple of us brought food home. The only reason this wasn't a 5 star review was because the beef part of our mixed plates was donair meat. It wasn't a bad thing by any means but would be better with a beef stick turning too. All in all, this is a great little spot and yes, it doesn't look like the nicest place but the service, the food and the prices make you not care. Especially when you remember, this is just a brand new family owned place that has just opened. I know my wife and kids and I will be back soon. Oh ok..... 5 stars it is.😉

We just tried this place out for the first time and were impressed with the food quality, service but holy smokes... the platter is massive! We have good appetites and have hardly eaten a quarter of each. So definitely great value for your money but we will be sharing one platter next time.

This is some of the BEST middle eastern food I've ever had! The ingredients are fresh and the portions are a great size. The staff is very friendly and the price is worth it. I usually get the chicken kebab wrap and the chicken skewers are grilled right in front of me. The only thing that could be improved would be the falafel. It's a little dry! But I'm now a repeat customer for sure! GO!

First time visiting this restaurant, it was A-1, delicious. Really nice owner and staff. Had the Donair, Chicken Shawarma and the lemon garlic potatoes with spicy garlic sauce, you will never eat fries again! No wonder this place has such good reviews, they deserve it.

The only reason that this place has the rating it does is because the food is so good. The service is absolutely awful. Not only did our takeout order take forty minutes longer than originally quoted but they also forgot our garlic sauce, gave us our pitas in the original store package but she also shorted my change (only by .75 but still). If you're looking for good food, this is the place. Just don't have plans after because you'll never know how long it will take.

Walked in there to witness huge platters being prepared. I ordered a large chicken shawarma and I was NOT disappointed. The largest shawarma I've ever eaten, tender and juicy, with tons of garlic sauce over the potatoes! Truly authentic food, was waiting for a restaurant like this in Kingston! It is worth the wait.

Wow, the staff and the food were amazing! Last week I was in for the first time and could not have been more impressed with the selection and service. I work at Kingston Paint and Decorating and we all decided to have a special going away lunch for one of our colleagues. Well worth the drive from mid-town to the west end.

We love this place! It is nice to finally have a place in Kingston where you can purchase a quality swarma. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and you will keep coming back for more. Keep up the great customer service!

AWESOME! So happy to have found this place! Food was great - delicious and the portions were crazy! My husband and I split one platter and still brought some home! Sauces were awesome and tasted delicious! Highly recommend!!!!

Food is soooo good! Pretty much inhaled it. You should probably get extra garlic sauce! To die for. It's a bit slow as it's run by just 2 guys but so worth the wait.

Your shawarma is the tits!! Definitely the best in Kingston! Garlic sauce is to die for. Great meat too :) unbelievable amount of food foe the price!

The staff are very friendly and the food is amazing! If it was more consistent with the hours of operation it would be an easy 5 stars....but it's rolling the dice half the time to drive there to find out if it's open

Shawarma El Mina has rapidly become one of my favourite places to eat in the west end. Amazing flavours, a great atmosphere, and fantastic staff make it a definite go to!

Great food generous serving sizes, as good as it gets in Kingston for Lebanese food. I have had only great service from the guys, If you want quick service & crappy food go next door to the pizza pizza.

Don't eat here. If you do, it'll become your favourite restaurant. The food is soooooo tasty and so fresh! This place is a secret gem in Kingston's West-End!
