Review Lone Star Texas Grill - Kingston

Average at best. Taco chips are great. Soft drinks are stale from the machine. Wings and chicken sandwich does not stand out in flavor or texture. Good thing is that they open late on weekends and holidays. Service is OK.

Had a wonderful time at Lone Star, we went here for a reunion. The place was clean, good ambiance, nice music, not loud that it wouldn’t let us hear ourselves, staff is super friendly, followed all covid protocols. And, we loved the food. We took our table server’s suggestion for couple of food items and drinks. There are many great items, good order choices (we ordered) can be chicken chimichanga, buffalo chicken fajitas, buffalo cauliflower and quesadilla platter, many sides.

The servers use "code names". The one that served my table goes by the name SANGRIA. She was very kind and polite. She gave us excellent suggestions regarding the drinks and the food. All we tried was DELIGHTFUL and as you can see in the pictures, very ABUNDANT. TWO THUMBS UP!

Let me start off by saying our server was wonderful given the circumstances. Her section was completely full and she was running for her life, still super pleasant and professional. My husband and I ordered a Caesar each and they were horrid. The Clamato wasn’t Clamato, the entire drink tasted like water with Tabasco. So either they’re watering down the clam or they need to get a better supplier. Our food arrived in a pretty timely manner my son had the kids steak fajitas which he enjoyed. My husband and daughter both got steak fajitas too which they were enjoying until my daughter bit into a piece of steak and there was hair cooked into it. My daughter informed our server and she was quick to remedy the situation asking her manager to remove it from the bill which they did. My other daughter and I split a nacho which was a mess. Glob of cheese in the middle, burnt chips on the outside with very minimal ingredients throughout and for 20$ the portion was laughable. Overall we won’t be back, not because of the service but because of the lack of care with food prep.

We had a lovely evening at Lone Star. We were planning to sit on their patio but it was closed due to the weather (which is understandable since it was raining). A hostess showed us to a table but, after she left, my partner and I decided we were going to move to a booth instead and we let her know we had changed tables to be more confortable. A couple of minutes later, another hostess showed up and she was clearly upset that we had moved to the (empty and clean) booth. She didn't even explain why she was upset, she just shrugged, turned around and left. We felt really uncomfortable after that but LUCKILY our server, "Sangria", showed up and she was amazing. Sangria's upbeat and approachable personality completely changed our mood. She was helpful, accommodating and overall had a great and genuine vibe. She apologized on behalf of the hostess and gave us excellent service throughout our visit. I had a Texas-sized lime margarita (yum!) and my partner had The Chelada. Lone Star is known for its Fajitas so we had the steak Fajitas and chicken quesadillas with a side of fries. The portions were abundant and the food was flavourful. It was my partner's first time there and thanks to our wonderful experience, it won't be the last.

Decent food here, what you would expect from a chain-type restaurant. It’s not going to blow you away. These nachos were ok, we paid extra for steak and there was maybe a small handful on there at most. The margarita however was quite good, peach flavoured, highly recommend.

The food was fantastic and we enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. The nachos and the sauce at the beginning was so tasty. The chicken wing was fabulous and the CURLY FRIES is badly recommended. Keep us the good quality guys.

The staff are very friendly! You get free nacho’s!!! The atmosphere is nice! That is the three stars this place deserves but… the food is not very good! This place would be a good place to drink and get nacho’s! I don’t understand how they say they have award winning fajitas because that is what my husband and I ordered and it tasted bland and the beef seemed off!?! The deep fried pickles tasted like salt!
