Review Peter's Place - Kingston

I have NOTHING bad to say about this restaurant. Saw a sign in the window that said they do Eggs Benedict so we HAD to try it. It was the ABSOLUTE BEST I have ever had. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, the price was great! What a great find of a clean, beautiful restaurant. Next time we are in Kingston, Ontario we plan to go EVERY DAY!!!!! AMAZING!

Service and food were great! Price was a bit on the high side. Breakfast for two for about $50 I think is a bit much. This was just for two coffees and two meals, no extras. In fairness, if you don't eat that much one serving can be easily split into two. Would still definitely come back next time.

A great diner close to our hotel. We had a large group and the waitresses did a great job managing. Our food arrived quickly and was good. The kids menu is not posted but they will do a kids pancake if asked.

I attended Peter's place yesterday with my partner for a nice brunch and unfortunately it was less than subpar! We ordered the special of the day which was eggs Benny. When it was brought to the table both of our hash browns were cold. That was resolved. I ordered a small chocolate milk that I was charged $5.75 for. Which seems absolutely absurd! I guess I was charged for a large chocolate milk which should have been $5. All in all with two specials at $13 each a small chocolate milk and one coffee it cost us $39 to dine there! I followed up with the business this morning to make sure that the costs that we were charged were correct and they said they were because of inflation. I just wanted to let others know my experience. And as an FYI Peter's place is/was one of my most favorite breakfast nooks in Kingston! Sadly, was very disappointed with our last experience and I guess I'm going to have to look for a new one now.

Updated review: After three years posting my initial review (below), and I still love this place. I stopped in for breakfast this A.M. and it hasn't changed a bit. Delicious breakfast that leaves you very full, and the staff are still just as friendly and welcoming as ever. It takes me through a time trip in the mid-90s when my parents would take us out to these classic breakfast spots. Guys, if I ever win the lotto, you will never have to worry about going out of business because I'd be making sure this place remains a traditional staple in Kingston. Original review: A must stop breakfast/lunch spot for anyone looking for a great downtown experience. The staff are friendly, attendant, professional, yet make you feel like you've known them for years. The atmosphere can't be matched. Get the cheese omelette and bring an appetite.

Server was very friendly and polite. But the food was over priced sausages were mushy eggs over cooked small chocolate milk over 5 bucks!! To bad they use to be very good!! Will never go back!!!

Very disappointed, was told it was the best but not so. Small portions for premium prices.food was nothing special. I would recommend to find some other restaurants that are more reasonable ..

One of my favorite breakfast places downtown. They are generous with their portions, and it is really cheap. Service was fast and attentive. Definitely will go back.

Simple great greasy breakfast with quick service that is very reasonable. There is not much more to say than that. Good for what it is meant to be.

Yes, this is Kingston's best breakfast joint. Peter's Place is one of those local gems that does exactly what you want it to do. I hope it never changes. It isn't fancy (beige is pretty much the predominant note), there aren't a lot of options but you just get a proper breakfast at a decent price. What else do you need? Unlike the people who run Morrison's, the staff aren't miserable, and in particular the short-order cook is a great guy with a very dry sense of humour. And he can cook eggs exactly how you want them. Great.

More than meets the eye. The basic breakfast is great but the hidden gem is the steak. I find the flavor much better than most steak houses. Steak and eggs, on a bun or as a main are all great. All the staff are friendly too.

Love the fast service and the always seems to be a ready table. Great smoothie/fruit juice and the no fuss attitude. The emphasis is not on the decor but in the plate.

Amazing Food. I have been a regular here since it opened. Everything on the menu is excellent. Service is friendly and fast. There is a reason why this place is always full of people: inexpensive, fresh, hot, delicious food. The best diner in Kingston!

Cheap & Simple breakfast. Simple breakfast menu. Great bacon and orange juice, but I've had better eggs at other diners. Generous pancake portions and super fluffy. Watch out, it's packed on saturday mornings and you will most likely have to wait for a table.

Exactly what a classic diner should be. Simple menu, impeccable service and perfectly executed food.

Classic food with a twist. We went for breakfast, I had the feta and tomato omelette, which was surprisingly good and rarely found on most menus at most diners. They also had a yogurt and berry smoothie which was also surprisingly good. Coffee was also great, served with 18% cream!
Looking forward to sampling their lunch and dinner items in the near future!
Service was fast and friendly. Price was reasonable.
