Review Gueng Korean Restaurant - Kelowna

Great authentic Korean food. Had a combo with 2 types of fried chicken that were delicious. Friendly staff. My wife had the bibimbap and it was very good. That would include some Japanese sushi and buckwheat noodles. I would definitely go back as it is reasonable and flavourful.

By far, the best Korean food in Kelowna. After trying it, my wife and I made it a mission to sample several other Korean restaurants around town, and this is simply the best. The location isn't the best, but if you can look past that, you won't find a better meal in this category IMO. Owners are so kind and warm and hospitable, the complete package!

Good korean food, friendly staff/owners. Good experience overall.

Nice mom and pop shop, friendly service and pretty good Korean food for the price. Parking can be hard to come by in the area. Decore is really nice inside, clean and spacious. Washrooms are clean and well attended, 10/10 safe for dumps.

Considering Kelowna has only one other Korean Restaurant in town (that I currently know of) Geung is the best place to go to! It's family-run, and such a calm environment. I had always wanted to try real Korean food and was not in any way disappointed! The food is great and the owners are nice. Prices can be a bit steep but are worth it. I only wish more people knew about it!

Amazing restaurant. The staff were amazingly kind and the food was really delicious. Great kpop songs playing in the restaurant that makes the mood happy. I recommend trying the fried chicken dumplings and the bbq beef ribs. I ate there everyday during my stay in Kelowna. 대박!

Big fan of Korean food. Been eating here for 3 years, Ricky and the fam are awesome. Hotstone Bibimbap is delicious, the beef bulgogi stew is 100% the best unicorn soup. Do one of the combos for a Korean tapas experience where they send out several small versions of classic dishes. Best Korean food in Kelowna hands down.

Great homestyle Korean food, well prepared, friendly family-friendly establishment, great service... My wife and I almost always get the Bibinbap here, we just had it again earlier this evening, it's some of the best we've ever had, including in South Korea... Highly recommended :)

Good food, those two words don't do it justice. The soup had an amazing depth of flavor. Rice was cooked very well soft and bouncy. Nice friendly quiet staff. Will be back

Nice staff. Slow to cook. Great food. I've had the spicy rice cake, kimchi fried rice, spicy beef soup, blackberry wine, bimbap, black bean noodle. All great popular good from the dramas I watch.

We decided to have an early (5:30 pm) dinner at Gueng. Upon arriving, we were greated by friendly staff and we were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered the Bibimbap, rice cake dish and cold buckwheat noodle dish. The Bibimbap and buckwheat noodles were very good. The rice cake dish was very sweet and the rice cakes were thin. Included in the dish was something that looked like small flat sheets of tofu but it tastes more break-like. Overall, the food is good but I think it is over-priced. That being said, the prices probably reflect the scarce number of Korean restaurants around.

My family and I travel to Kelowna from Calgary every summer and a big reason for always returning is this restaurant. Gueng offers a wide variety of authentic dishes, I especially like the gamja tang/hae jung guk. The owners are very friendly and they make it taste like the best in Korea which is also worth the trip for a good feed.

I have only eaten a handful of times in a Korean restaurant & I must say I really like the food here! Happy with my Kimchi Stew!

Delicious! When I noticed Koreans eating in this Korean resto, i take that as a good sign and true enough all the dishes we ordered were yummy! Service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely eat again at this family-run restaurant next time we visit Kelowna again!

Terrific! Flavorful and authentic Korean food - outside of the lower mainland. A must for any foodie. I ate the BEST kimchi fried rice in my life. True story.

Wonderful food & kind owner. You can try not only Korean food but also western food...
We can taste all kind of Korean western dishes including sushi, Bulgogi-marinated Korean beef with veggies.

It takes lots of time and effort to make Korean dishes.
They are healthy food.
You can even read the ingredients in English.
Moreover the owners are very kind.
You can feel yourself at home.

Buffet Course One. Fantastic, quirky Korean buffet in one of Kelowna's most run down neighbourhoods. The owners are quite friendly and helpful and the buffet is quite varied and unique. I particularly enjoyed a stir fried pork dish with paprika and peanut. Delicious.

A intriguing change from the usual.. This was my second visit to this interesting restaurant; the first being very close to the opening date. While the food was good on the first visit it was certainly improved on my second, in both flavour and freshness. The owners appear to be making a concerted effort to produce a quality product. I particularly like that they added fresh fruit for dessert and labelled the items with a little more information for the guest who is unfamiliar with Korean cuisine. My main concern regarding the food is that too many of the items have just a touch too much of sweet element to them instead of a savory or spicy piquancy which ends up being a little tiresome to one's palate.
The cost of the adult dinner buffet is closer to $20 than the $10-15 stated and this might be a little on the high side for the ambience of the interior and the less-than-desirable location. While Gueng is unlikely to become a regular haunt for my companion and I, we certainly will be back. If you too are looking for a change from the usual give this spot a try.

Looking for dinner close to our motel, we decided on a Korean restaurant down the street. The place was fairly empty on a Sunday night. One of our party is Korean, so he helped with the ordering. We had bulgogi, spicy pork, seafood pancake, kimchi stew and spicy rice cake. I thought most of the food was good. My friend commented that the kimchi was sour for his taste (and mine as well). The spicy pork was really good. I thought the spicy rice cake was more like rice penne pasta with a sweet and spicy sauce. The service was good and we got complimentary vanilla ice cream for dessert. Green tea with rice Bulgogi and chapchae Kimchi stew Spicy rice cake Seafood pancake
