This restaurant had good service, solid food, and a nice atmosphere. The decor is pretty nice with the little details. The chairs are quite cool with the wooden carvings on it. I think this place would be good for large groups. Service here was good. They came to fill our water and was easy to flag down when we wanted to pay.
We tried the seafood pancake (medium), dol sot bibimbap, and the spicy beef soup. The pancake came first and was a pretty good size. The top was nice and crisp, but the bottom was a little bit oily (but kind of expected with seafood pancakes). The pancake had green onions, squid, and imitation crab. I was expecting a bit more different seafood, but it still was yummy. The spicy beef soup came with rice and was a pretty good portion;especially considering there were noodles in it as well. It wasn't too spicy and had a good amount of flavour. The dol sot bibimbap was pretty much solid. Only thing I would have liked was maybe to have the stone bowl a bit hotter to crisp up the rice more. The side dishes were the potatoes and kimchi. A little disappointed that there was only two, where I'm used to 3-5. But they were still good. Overall, a solid meal for a good price and would come back if I was craving Korean food.
Came with a couple of friends to celebrate a birthday. Ordered a seafood fried udon. The dish was extremely delicious. The spice was just right and the seafood appetizing. Tried the california rolls- though not out of the world, I would not judge the restaurant on just a sushi roll. One of chicken dishes was equally awesome, though I happen to have forgotten the name (The one in the photos, I guess)
Had a wonderful experience on the whole
Chopped scallop roll $3.. Cheap and good!!!
The Best korean restaurant in Kelowna. SS Korean restaurant is best place to eat authentic Korean food.
Their portions are generous and full of flavor, worth every penny. They also have the freshest sushi. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Inexpensive mix of authentic Korean dishes, both modern and traditional. Great service. Delicious meals. Even good for families.
Some of the best Korean food I've had in Canada.. I love that they have the metal chopsticks that are used everywhere in Korea. I find many Korean restaurants have small menus and high salt levels in North America. Not here big menu and I felt the food was salted properly. I can order all of my favourite dishes from the time I lived in Korea. You can get Korean drinks Cass, OB Lager and Soju which is a bonus. Also they have Sushi.
I've enjoyed bibim bap, gimbap, mandu and kimchi Jjigae. The last one I couldn't find on the menu but when I asked they gladly made for me.
The authenticity of the food, chopsticks, drinks all win me over to this place. If it had a norebong it would be perfect.
Now I'm craving it and it's closed maybe I'll go for kimchi bokkeumbap for breakfast.
This is a tale of a tasty dish.... Since our first visit in the summer netted an average meal we've been a bit slow to return. This visit also netted some average food and some surprisingly tasty food. The bulgogi was typical, perhaps even sweeter than usual and although it was tasty it was a little lacklustre. The prawn and veg dumpling would have been great if the veg had a little bit of cooking or seasoning before stuffing the dumpling. Kudos, though, for making them in-house. Our final dish this visit was a cold noodle/broth combination with a small amount of meat and hard-boiled egg served with a delicious, mild'ish Korean hot sauce, reminiscent of house-made barbeque sauce. You wouldn't expect this to be delicious and our server was surprised that we ordered it asking if we've had this dish before or travelled in Korea. It didn't look like anything special but after a couple of bites both my companion and I quite liked it. Apparently this dish is popular on hot days in Korea and I can see returning this summer for this noodle dish. As other reviewers have noted the service is absent once your food arrives...this may be cultural and you may need to flag down your server or go to the back if you need anything. Personally I think Soban and Gueng may edge out SS in terms of Korean food and it's not a restaurant known for it's service or ambiance, but we'll certainly be back for noodles sometime soon.
Better than we thought!. We were suspicious since it says "Korean food and Sushi," but we were wrong!!! we ordered chicken Bulcogi, bi-bim-bah, and chapche(potato noodle) they were good! especially bi-bim-bah was sooo good! it was in a stone bowl, and had raw egg yolk. we hoped the bowl was hotter than it was(didnt sizzle at all), but i guess it was a safety reason. service was a little slow, but we definitely will go back to have some more food!
Decent. Good flavours, service was okay.
Our server didn't speak much english but she was friendly and recommended a few good dishes. i agree with another review here that we didn't see our server again once the food was dropped off, our teacups were empty. And we had to wave her over [which i think is rude doing =[] but was really thirsty! Meal was a bit pricey but overall good for Kelowna. I've definitely had better but I hope their restaurant does well so I'm here to support! Only real critique I have is that the pickled ginger tasted and smelt like dirty socks, like it was wrapped in a dirty wet towel before service! Had to spit it out,our crunchy roll was good though. hahah. Anyhow, give it a try, I'd recommend it if you like spicy!!!

Very clean looking place. Neat chairs. Cool looking menu.
Good atmosphere. Kpop playing when I was there.
Great tasting food.
If you aren't skilled with chopsticks they have cutlery.
Very polite and friendly staff
We had the table BBQ and was blown away by its authenticity. If you're looking for real Korean food, this is the place. ππΌ

Love this restaurant! Love their spicy soups! Love the people in this restaurant! It comes off as sort of a mom-and-pop kind of restaurant, which is great by me, but they also serve the best Korean food I've tasted in a while. Now, truth be told, it's the first and only I've tried here in Kelowna so I may be a little biased but, by the gods, it is amazing. The restaurant's ambience is so chill and you get to relax, have a good time, good talk, it's an awesome atmosphere in which to eat. I would most definitely eat there every single day for the rest of my life. Plus they speak Korean, which helps with the process of learning and practicing if you ever need it. Anywho! Fun time, fun place, amazing food! Oh yeah, and if you don't like spicy stuff, they also serve amazing non-spicy everythings. I love them so... Oh! And did I mention that they have table BBQ? They're that good~
This place actually has pretty decent and quite authentic Korean food! I've been to multiple Korean restaurant in Kelowna and this one so far stands out as my favourite. The pork-bone soup is excellent, and so is the beef bone soup. The bi-bim-bap is also quite excellent. Keep it up. don't Americanize it.
Very very reasonable price with amazing food. It's in heart of Kelowna downtown just beside the park. We ate 7 people and bill was only $80. Highly recommended and a big high five. Definitely will come next time πππ
Location: downtown Kelowna block away from the water. Street parking outside. Decor is very basic and could use a refresh. Never a big fan when menu items are printed on paper and taped to the wall. This is not bbq at your table of you're looking for that. Menu pricing is ok. Not sure why the bbq option is $28 per person and minimum of 2 people. Why not just list it as $46?? Service is average.
The best authentic Korean restaurant you'll find in Kelowna for a reasonable price. Great flavours and plenty of options in the menu. My only disappointment was the lack of variety in the side dishes.
Really good food, great service, very authentic. I think some people overlook it but definitely worth giving it a shot if you're craving Korean food!
Wanted to try something new. Offered a wide variety of dishes with rice or noodles. Also offers many traditional Korean soups. Quite good, I would recommend giving this restaurant a try.
I absolutely love this place, each time I go it only gets better and better. Once again I am extremely impressed with their food quality. I will attach pictures later to this review
Good bibimbap, gimbap, and cold noodle soup! Service seemed a little inexperienced when we went, but they were efficient and flexible despite us being the only customers seated outside (we had our dog with us).
The waiters were a little reserved, and made the atmosphere feel a little awkward, but the food itself was plentiful and really good. The prices were a little on the expensive side, but I would go again.
