Just finished eating what I had ordered from here, to sum it up the portions are a decent size for what your paying for and the food is good quality. My only complaint for this order is that the tempura we had ordered was overcooked, the shrimp was very tough and chewy and I can't tell if it is the batter they use or the dipping sauce but there was a very strong cinnamon/brown sugar taste to it which isn't all that bad. (I myself don't like cinnamon but my spouse really enjoyed it) All together though, it was a very filling meal.

Very quiet and cozy place to sit down and have sushi! I had the pleasure of having the lunch special with the teriyaki salmon. It was delicious and well portioned... I'm stuffed and I had to get it to go! Decently priced for two people. I'd definitely go back for more!

The chicken udon soup is by far the best I have ever tasted and all of the other menu items I have tried are excellent as well. The service is prompt, efficient, and friendly. The booths along the one wall are small and the seat backs are vertical but that doesn't matter because you will spend your whole meal leaning over the amazing smelling and tasting food they bring you. The tables are just fine. The prices are reasonable and I enjoy this dining experience very much.

Our favourite sushi place - and one of our favourites overall (was my choice for my birthday dinner). Excellent prices. Staff is very nice, no complaints! Would recommend to anyone. Also, the rolls are nice and small which we prefer.

I have been coming here since I was little when my Mom would bring us for Maki and Tempura :) Always amazing, fresh, and full of flavour. Service has always been top-notch. Cold drinks. You must give them a try, I guarantee you will be back many times! ❤️

This place is not fancy by any stretch of the imagination, however the food is good. I used to work very close to here and I was so happy it was so close, I would go a couple times a week. The chefs are friendly and the regular staff are very good. I would give this five stars except I have had not so great service from their temporary staff who seem to rotate through there quite often.
We live on the other end of town, but still make a point of going here.

Special props to the patient and professional waitress who was very collected when dealing with a rude aggressive woman regarding a "coupon", who demanded things, threatened a bad review and yet proceeded to order. Shame on the grown woman who was beyond rude, yet hooray to the kind young waitress who remained respectable and rose above such disgraceful behavior.
One of my husband and my fav places to go, will absolutely go again and again!

A Japanese chef who adds unexpected flavors to every day Japanese food. The dipping sauce for the great assortment of tempura has this hint of cinnamon, wow! We had the Bento or lunch box and for a reasonable price you are served a filling tasteful fare.

As much as the portion sizes were more than generous, the quality of the food was not there. My wife ordered a beef udon soup, but received a very odd-looking, rather unappealing chicken udon instead. Our rolls tasted of either Chinese five spice or cinnamon, we still can't put our finger on what it was. The only saving grace was our salmon sashimi, which, let's face it, is fairly hard to do poorly. I can easily name three sushi restaurants in Kelowna that I would recommend over Nagano.

Service was friendly and attentive. The decor is cute with little booths separated by wood walls, to make it feel more private. The food was good, but nothing really special. <br/><br/>We tried the negitoro roll, spicy chopped scallop roll, salmon sashimi, and ika nigiri. The sashimi tasted fresh and was a fairly good size. There were a few small bones, but not in all the pieces. Negitoro roll was pretty solid and had good flavour. I liked the spicy sauce for the chopped scallop, but it lacked in scallop. I really wish they had more scallop and I would have been happier with it. The ika nigiri was OK. A bit chewier than some places but was still good.

Good service!. I loved the server, I think her name was Stephanie. She was very delightful and did everything we asked, and was prompt and polite. The food was awesome too, and my friend had the bubble tea and said it was great. I would definitely go again! Try to get Stephanie as your waitress! She is awesome.

Kamikaje roll is excellent! We love going to Nagano. They always serve us really quickly and the quality is always great! I live the casual/homey feel. The service has been consistently great for us as well. We started going with a Smart Betty coupon, but now it's one of our fave restaurants.

Good Food and Service. I at ate three sushi places while in British Columbia on vacation and this was definitely the best. We were helped right away upon entering the store and the staff were very gracious. They also have excellent vegetarian sushi.

Changed.... Hadn't been here in a while- interior is totally changed! Painted over all the graffiti booths and walls with writing on them. Definitely a change for the better. Overall great experience. Staff was polite and service was quick, despite it being fairly busy on a Friday night. Will be back again to try a few more of their 'specialty rolls'. Still have the best spicy mayo in town!

All around thumbs up!. With all of the sushi joints in Kelowna, I've always left Nagano's consistently happy. Tasty (and fresh!) sushi, good prices, and speedy service- there's not a lot more that I could ask for!

Not so good. I ordered sashimi at Nagano's the other day and it was pretty bad, the tuna had a greyish color to it and it tasted like it came out of the freezer. The salmon was even worse it had a terrible texture, almost rubber, gross!. You would think for the price you paid for the food it should have been ten times better. I asked for extra ginger and wasabi and didn't get it, plus what they did give me had little or no flavour. Well Nagano's you convinced me not to come back

Much Improved!. Since the new owner has taken over, it's been great each time. Have ordered a variety of items off the menu. Not much for korean fare (only beef bibimbab really), but the sushi is decent, priced fairly competitive for the downtown market, and is usually fast. I would DEFINITELY recommend making a reso though on busy downtown nights (like when there's an event at prospera), otherwise good luck getting service/a table. Try some of their specialty rolls- they're the best (jewelry, ellis, or chicken run roll). Dynamite roll is 1 of a kind and SO big.

Great Service and Food. Wow, did not expect to get both in this place when looking at it from the outside. The tempura is fantastic. The young guy who was working the front was very attentive and friendly. Very clean :-)<br/>We will be back.

Mediocre Food. I ordered the Bento Box B Dinner for delivery. <br/>Here are my thoughts:<br/><br/>The miso soup is watery - no flavour, barely any onions or tofu bits. <br/>The glass noodles (I don't even know what they were called as they weren't a part of the box on the menu) were very vinegary, which was okay for the first few bites, but I couldn't finish them. <br/>The tempura was creative (had apple!) but the prawns were tiny and the rest of it was just... no flavour and mushy - I realize that takeout sits for a bit, but I've had takeout tempura before that was loads better. The sauce didn't taste like classic tempura sauce; rather, it just tasted like brown sugar water - way sweet. <br/>Gyoza was just gross... <br/>The Cali Rolls tasted like convenience store rolls. <br/>Teriyaki Beef was the only redeeming part of this meal. <br/><br/>I really wanted to like this place, as it delivers and I'm lazy sometimes. But it just wasn't happening.

Great Sushi!. Nagano's is my favourite place to go for sushi. Since I'm a vegetarian, I normally order the kamikazee roll and it is amazing. Can't speak for the rest of the menu as I've only tried that and the yam roll (great as well). The chefs are always very friendly and the sushi is always great for me.

Service not to die for.. I live nearby and its the only Sushi place for blocks, so I've been a few times, they are fantasitc for takeout, however the food gets a bit price if your ordering for 2 people ($45 for 4 rolls?!?!) <br/><br/>The one and only time I went to eat in with my wife we experienced terrible service to the point where we just walked out and didn't order anything. The server ignored us for 15 minutes, did not say hi, did not give us menues, did not clear a table, and there was only one other person in the place. <br/><br/>Food is great. <br/>Service is killing the business.

Spicy Tuna!!. I LOVE their spicy tuna roll. Best one I've come across in a long time. Everything else I've had there has been stellar as well. The guy who does the rolls is so nice as well..

Hmmm..... So, I have an allergy to mayo and avocado... so I called to ask if there's mayo in their spicy tuna - FAILED! confusion on the other end of the phone... silence... then I said... <br/><br/>Q: What's in your spicy tuna roll and sauce?<br/>A: oh... tuna??? FAIL #2<br/><br/>Terribly hungry, I just ordered the regular tuna roll... well, it was a huge disappointment - tuna not so fresh.. light brown... not pink at all, and the roll is almost as tiny as my pinkie finger.

Unassuming look, but great sushi!. I've been going to Nagano Sushi for years, originally because it opened close to where I work. As it turns out, the food is on par with much of what I find in Vancouver - high praise.<br/><br/>Get a booth and check out the grafitti.
