Review Sprout Bread - Kelowna

Had a delightful experience at this coffee shop in Kelowna! The sandwiches and coffee were top-notch—I visited twice during my trip. It's a fantastic spot for breakfast or a quick bite. The place's design is appealing, and the service adds to the overall positive vibe. Highly recommend for a satisfying and enjoyable visit.

As a local, this is a must-visit place on your visit to Kelowna. The atmosphere is lovely and their patio is quaint on a sunny day. Great coffee and even better sourdough and pastries. All-time favorite is their table loaf (I use this for sandwiches) and their cheddar green onion scones. Today, we met friends here for brunch. I was blown away by the oatmeal with rhubarb compote. We also ordered the butcher sand which and soup. I recommend the butcher, among all sandwiches! As for parking: there is paid street parking and a paid lot next to the bakery.

Ok the pics on Google don't do this place justice. I thought I was just going to a regular old bakery. Not so. These folks are legit crafting their bread with meticulous precision and passion, as well as making amazing sandwiches with sides like in-house ketchup and great coffee. All this in a huge warehouse-like space with high ceilings. There's a second floor, ground floor and patio area outside so tons of space.

Seemed to be very popular even when there were wildfires clogging up the air. The staff were friendly. There is plenty of seats. Real airy and nice touch that they have an open kitchen that you can peer into from sitting above them. Their food and coffee options were tasty.

I loved this cafe/restaurant and would definitely come back when I visit Kelowna in the future. The place is quite spacious and they bake their own bread in the kitchen behind the counter. Everything that we tried was fresh, delicious, seemed like it was made with local ingredients. We tried two sandwiches, the Gardner and the Ploughmen. My personal favourite was the Ploughmen but the Gardener was also pretty tasty. We also got the crème brûlée donut as a dessert and I also grabbed an americano to wash down all the food. I loved everything that we’ve tried and the lineup was definitely worth the wait! Check this place out if you’re ever in the city

My favorite brunch spot in Kelowna. I love the rustic atmosphere and the quality of everything is top notch. The coffee here was delicious! We got a cappuccino and an iced latte. The crispy potatoes are a must-try. We ordered it with a side of cheese custard - yum! For sandwiches, we got the Montreal Smoked Meat & The Ploughman. Loved the Ploughman, it was sweet and savory. The smoked meat sandwich we found a little dry. Be careful with the toast, it scratched the roof of mouth a bit 😂 We tried a friends’ Salted Rye Cookie and it was so fudgey and decadent. A must-visit spot.

Always great food, relaxed atmosphere, and delicious drinks. Prices very reasonable and fair. Seating outdoors, indoors on main level, and upstairs. We go out of our way to come here every time we come into town. Great morning spot with family, friends or alone! Love their Iced Chai tea, Avocado toast and yogurt/granola bowl! Find it in the back alley way.

My friend and I walked to this location hoping to get some coffee and bread for our lunch today. Some reviews said that the sandwiches were lots of bread but not much meat or innards so we decided to take the bread home instead. We walked in and enjoyed the atmosphere inside. It looked like a great place to do some work or have a meeting. In fact, I did spot a group of people upstairs having a business meeting! They even have a kids table with small chairs up front for the kiddos. Something that confused us a tad was that there is another coffee shop beside this place that also serves coffee… so there’s two coffee shops side by side… why? We don’t know. It’s called sprout x slowside. After some inspection, it looked like slowside had some automatic pour over machines while sprout had espresso machines for the coffee. My friend said that most people don’t really know much about pour over coffee or order it for that matter. Most people get lattes and stuff from coffee shops… and if they do order pour overs, they want a barista to do it, not a machine. Where is the personality of the coffee if it is done by a machine! And those machines are expensive! Servers were often walking back and forth between shops which seemed a bit strange and unorganized. Also it looked like both shops had different baked goods at their counters. Also they had 2 coffee grinders. Are they grinding two different types of beans? Anyways, we ordered a flat white, a cappuccino and a rye bread from the lady at the till. She was very friendly and was quick to serve us! We got our bread from the counter and waited for our coffee to go. We waited for quite a while for the coffee .. maybe around 8 mins. It’s a good thing that there were lots of things to look at in the shop like plants, coffee beans, the bakers in the back who knead the dough. I would say that they are on the ‘slowside’ (pun intended) when it comes to making coffee. Eventually we did get our coffee and it tasted pretty good! I had the flat white and it wasn’t too bitter and it was definitely a smooth beverage. When we got to our air bnb we were excited to try the bread!! We got out the 2 serrated knives in the kitchen and one of the knives could not cut it so we had to try the other knife. It took a lot of patience and some strength to really cut this bread as the crust is really thicc! We had to really let the blade go back and forth quite a few times to cut some slices. Sadly my friend didn’t have the best of luck and cut it unevenly and could not toast it well on the frying pan for his open face sandwich. All in all though, the bread was delicious. The inside is moist and complex in flavour and the crust isn’t too hard to bite as it has a good chew.. after a while though, my jaw was a bit sore from the workout. UPDATE: It has been a few hours after eating the bread and drinking the coffee and we both have noticed that we are a bit gassy!! Is it from this place? It’s still a mystery.. Now would I would go back to this place for coffee and/or baked goods? Heck yes! I would even enjoy studying or reading here!

Sprout is a really cool coffee shop and bakery in a great location. The coffee is fantastic and prices are very fair. The sandwich I had there (The Butcher) was honestly one of the best I’ve had in my life. I could eat one every day if I could. The atmosphere is also great - there is a ton of space and it makes a great place to go and work for a few hours.

Regular sourdough toast with cream cheese, Chocolate croissant and coffee are the best way to start your day! The layout of this cafe makes it a happy place. Keep the amazing work you’ve been doing.

The breakfast was good. They had a few vegetarian options. The upstairs looks classic and cozy. would definitely go back to this place. Price is reasonable. The coffee was fantastic. I only gave them 4 stars because the service wasn't that good. I asked for a dip they said they don't have any. I asked for honey for my coffee they said they don't have any. I asked for napkins they told me I can go get some inside 😂 Sooooooooooooooo not the best service. But the atmosphere is so friendly and positive that makes up for the poor service. They have some scones and cookies on the counter that look irresistible. I fall for them every time. I'm a plant person and they have some cute plants inside that makes the vibe even better. Overall I love this place 💕

Super cute and hip cafe. Sat on the patio and upstairs and had a nice time. The barista made a nice coffee. Love all the vegan food options. Also, bought some delicious sourdough bread for home and it was wonderful! Would definitely come back!

Cute and quite popular local coffee shop. Upstairs area is less crowded than the downstairs area. There is a patio (dog friendly). The almond croissant I ordered was not too sweet and just right. It's almost always sold out if you get there later during the day. The location is very close to Prospera Place and Waterfront Park.

Sprout Bread is hands down the best coffee ☕️ shop in Kelowna! It’s honestly my favourite spot in town. The amount of love, pride and care they take in making their breads🍞🥖, pastries 🥐 and weekend features 🧇🍽 is unreal as they are all excellent and taste phenomenal! Love everything about this place and it’s sister shop, slow side. I appreciate the little details and creativity behind Sprout and Slowside. They’ve done an amazing job! In my opinion, they deserve more than 5 stars and if I could rate them higher, I would. You are never disappointed at anything since they’re just awesome and their foods and drinks highly speak volume. The baristas and hosts are also super nice and friendly. Totally recommend this place if you’re looking for a place for a coffee meeting, catching up or even working from your laptop since their space is huge and very well put together. Thank you again for everything you guys do. See you soon again! 💯👏
