Finally I've found a decent Vietnamese restaurant in Kelowna! Excellent vermicelli and pho and the fish sauce is spot on! The staff is super nice and friendly. I highly recommend. Make sure you check the hours before heading out there. See you soon ladies!
Been my fav for 4.5 years now great food friendly staff good price
My fave restaurant in Kelowna. #30 for the win.
The best Phở
Try chicken curry with rice
Love LOVE this place! Not only is the food fantastic, but the staff is so friendly and always smiling.
Absolutely love this place. I would eat their spicy lemongrass pho everyday if I could !! And the staff are amazing :)
Tuyệt zời ông mặt chời !!!!
This is our go to for awesome food in downtown Kelowna. Food is always awesome, service fantastic. Our 3 year old daughter loves the noodles!
UN PHO GET A BOWL, PHO K YA!
The food is great if you're looking for a Vietnamese restaurant in Kelowna. The price for the food given is a bit over price, but it's authentic Vietnamese food. The pho has good broth but not enough meat, just noodles. The vermicelli is good with spring rolls. Also the deep fried bananas with ice cream is really good dessert. Lastly the iced coffee isn't too bad.
Very good! We had the spring rolls, my husband had pho #37 he enjoyed it. He is coming around and liking cilantro more and more each day. This disappoints me as I hate cilantro. My stir fry was very good
Came here just to try the deep fried banana with ice cream. A piece of heaven that! A wonderful place with cozy lights. I fell head over heels with this dish!
We only tried vermicelli bowls so hard to give it a true rating without trying the Pho.
But the vermicelli bowls were just ok. Nothing wrong with them but didn't stand out at all. Spring rolls were ok, grilled pork had good flavor but was a bit chewy/gristly.
I'd eat here again but I'd also try other Vietnamese places looking for something amazing in Kelowna.
One of my favorite restaurant! people are very friendly and Pho, salad roll and spring roll are amazing!! Food comes out very quick as well!
My husband and I tried the frist time today. The food was greet. The store was tiny, but everything tasted really well. I like that spicy fred tofu sth sth (forgot the name...). We ordered different noodles and we were both satisfied!
Best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. Go there weekly for my noodle fix. Suggest, however, you skip the beef skewer with rice noodle bowl as it is very chewy. Staff is extremely nice and enjoy what they doing. Great restaurant experience.
Great Pho....when you can get it?!?!
I really like this place but what are the restaurant hours?!?! I've walked or driven over there countless times when they "should" be open according to their hours. Only to find them closed. Very annoying.
Best Pho in the Okanagan!. We decided to have something soupy on a cold Sunday afternoon and went to Pho Soc Trang. They had a small sandwhich board outside advertising the special of the day which was the Bun Rieu.
My friend and I ordered the Bun Rieu and it was quite different from the regular Pho as it has a more tomato like soup base with different ingredients. I found it very savoury and satisfying!
The service was also top notch as the girls came by a few times refilling our waters and asking if everything was alright. Will definitely go there again!
Best Pho in town! Great service with friendly staff. They have very good food. If I'm craving spicy noodles or tasty soup I come here.
Wow, I'm visiting from Calgary and had 72, bun with pork and spring roll, and omg the pork was the BEST pork ever!! Tastie and moist. Really good! And our kids loved it too. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
#36. Every time. The serve.... #36. Every time.
The servers are always so happy and fun!
The food was amazing. The curry chicken and spicy lemongrass pho are both truly fantastic. The service was excellent and fast. I would Highly recommend pho soc trang.
That was delicious!!!! Wait staff were attentive and very informative. Portions were bang on for a family of four to be full with three dishes ordered. Would we come back here? OH YA!!!
Great choice for vietnamese, never dissapoints.
Yum! Definitely the best Vietnamese in Kelowna. Great service and delicious food... Can't ask for much more even though the decor is a bit dated. But don't judge a book by it's cover!
I love this place! The waitress was extremely friendly, helpful, and happy. Don't be dismayed by the dated decor. The food was so good and massive portions! When they say hot, they mean hot! A level 4 on my dish was very spicy but super good! Also I'd highly recommend the iced coffee and the honey chrysanthemum tea! I will be back!
Great food. Its on the 2nd floor, the view is not great but the food and the service are excellent !
Best pho in town. The girls that work here are a hoot. Always a great meal!
Excellent food- Excellent service. We eat here at least once a week. This restaurant is great.
After leaving Vancouver to move to Kelowna, I was searching for a good Pho place... now I have found it.
I highly recommend it.
Oh my.... Finally! We found a Vietnamese place in Kelowna that lives up to our standards!
My Pho was absolutely delicious and with all the proper side fixings. My wife's vermicelli was generous in portion size, and had much more noodles in the bowl than lettuce (unlike some other places we've eaten at in this city). She's very particular about her vermicelli, and said she'd come back here without hesitation. Our appetizers or spring rolls and salad rolls were delicious, with the spring roll dipping sauce having a fresh-made element to it.
As for service, I have a certain expectation of service and I do not tip unless it is met. That night, I tipped without hesitation!
Decor is nothing flattering, but I got to a restaurant for the food, not the ambiance.
I HIGHLY recommend this place. It's now on my favourites list, and we will certainly be back!
First time to this particular Vietnamese place and it was delicious. Food was delicious, servers were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Although the prices on the menu were misleading and we paid more than what we initially thought we had to - a shock that slightly dampened the whole experience.
No pretense needed here. This was my first Vietnamese food experience. Friendly personable service was provided by Lisa. Ordered the salad rolls with prawn and pork, which came with a satay dipping sauce, and the #17 Pho Rare Beef noodle soup supplied with bean sprouts and basil and i requested a spicy additive also. Both dishes were full of fresh well prepared ingredients and had well balanced tasty flavour. With a large serve of the Pho this would have fed 2 people quite comfortably. As it was I took the remainder of the meal home to enjoy for lunch today. Including tax and a generous tip the bill was $25. No drinks ordered though. Still good value for a meal for two people. I will be going back here and will be recommending it to anyone wanting good food and good service.
Yummy and friendly. Very friendly service and yummy (if not authentic) Vietnamese food. As a vegetarian I found three choices plus a number of seafood dishes. Unfortunately there was no vegetarian pho choice, which was disappointing. I had the veggie and tofu rice noodle dish and found that everything was cooked just right - the broccoli especially was very good. My husband had the beef pho and thought it was very tasty. We'd definitely go back!
So delicious, and our waitress was so amazing! They stayed open a little later then normal so we could eat. So friendly, so fantastic! Well be eating here often. :)
Love. Great little restaurant. Staff is super nice. My favorite is the fried rice noodle tofu dish.. and I'm not even vegetarian nor do I usually eat tofu. The vermicelli bowls are also amazing, huge portions. Every time I've been in there its been so quiet. Hope they go far!
Surprise find!. Intended to re-visit RauDZ while we are in Kelowna but the wait is per usual - extremely long (won't be seated until almost 10pm) so check out urbanspoon and see what else is there nearby.
Thanks to other viewers on urbanspoon, Phở Sóc Trăng turns out to be a special pleasant surprise! Food was delicious and the service was AWESOME! For those who like a bit of spice, the spicy lemongrass beef broth is an excellent sub to regular phở soup broth.
Bon Appétit
Delicious. I am a new comer to the Vietnamese food, but this place introduced me to the most delicious Pho I think I will ever have! From a hangover to a delicious afternoon soup it is affordable and justtt yummmy
Jenn is a sweety! the service is wonderful!!!
Looking for the best Vietnamese restaurant in kelowna? This is the place, hands down.
AMAZING Pho..... One of the best bowls of Pho I've ever had.
Hung over, drunk....whatever....this is the medicinal cure that everyone needs to try at LEAST once - Though I guarentee you'll be back for more. Finally I know where to go to get a great bowl of pho in this town. :) Thx!
If you've got questions, they've got answers. Despite the overt Saskatchewan put-downs ("You are all a bunch of hicks and hillbillies, aren't you? No offense.), we made a good friend with the waitress. Noodle bowls were ginormous and the in-house peanut sauce would get you to third base. Great food, great service, and they stayed open late so these hillbillies could eat some grub.
The best pho in town! Great portion sizes, prices are cheap and the owners actually take an interest in you. I wouldn't go to any other place!
So thanks to urbanspoon I gave this place a shot. Had a small Pho with beef and thought I would try Bun next. Problem is I'm full after soup! Great value and presentation. $8 to fill up on great food for lunch? Very nice. So i decided i would power through one more item for reviews sake and went with salad rolls. Very fresh and light. Perhaps a touch more flavor please. Atmosphere is very nice and service was friendly. Food came quick. I will come back to try stirfry another day, I just won't order soup first!
Very good food, and very nice staff. I have gotten used to using Urbanspoon as my restaurant picker, based on good reviews. I read all reviews about Pho Soc Trang and with not one bad review, I decided this would be a good choice. Now you may think at this point I am going to say something like "Boy Was that a mistake!", but every review on here is correct. The staff was very friendly and the waitress even high fived me as i was leaving. The Pho that I tried was the best Pho I have ever had, this being based on the multiple vietnamese places in Kelowna. As some other reviews stated the decor is a little drab and the music playing on the speakers was top forty crap. But I know that the food is what makes the meal. It is cheap, delicious, and filling food and I plan on going back many more times in the future. This will be on my list for business meetings or lunches with friends. If the waitress that i dealt with reads this as she said she looks on here from time to time, I am sorry I didnt get your name as I wish i did so that others will know it. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Sincerely,
The Guy that works by the airport (the 25 minute drive to go get lunch was worth every drop of gas.)
Affordable, filling, and delicious!!
Exceptional food and service! Just finished a vermicelli bowl and I am impressed! The waitresses deliver 5star hospitality and service. The decor is lacking. Maybe a few more plants? Top 40s music has got to go.
A Delicious Experience. I went here with my husband and his parents for mother's day lunch. We were greeted by a polite server and quickly brought our drinks (vietnamese tea with condensed milk). 2 of us order the house vermicelli bowl and the other 2 ordered the chicken curry. The server asked how spicy they wanted the curry on a scale of 1 to 10, which was kind of neat. The food was excellent! I will be going back over and over again. Delivery is also available through Restaurants Delivered now too! Just let them know you would like delivery when you are placing your take-out order. There is a $6 delivery fee.
A treasure in a sea of restaurants. Heading up to Kelowna, I browsed Urbanspoon for some ideas as to what to have for dinner.
This restaurant came up as one of the more popular spots in town, and the reviews were good, so I took a nice walk downtown and eventually found myself seated in a comfortable restaurant situated up a few stairs on the second floor near the corner of Water and Bernard.
Having looked at the menu ahead of time, I knew what I wanted and ordered #30....the spicy beef soup. I was also going to have a side order of spring rolls, but was told that with the soup tonight, a free spring roll came with it ....bonus!
The spring roll came hot and pleasantly presented, and was of very good quality....tasty and not too greasy...no old deep fryer oil taste here.
As I was finishing it up, I was brought my ``Bowl of deliciousness`` by Jenn, who is mentioned in a few other reviews here...I asked for some extra chili was given a few choices...of which I used two (I was told I could have even had fresh hot chilies...nice).
The soup was very rich and tasty, with a wonderful, spicy broth that had great depths of flavour....an abundance of noodles and a lovely assortment of properly cooked meats.
My meal was made even more enjoyable by the attentive and pleasant service of the aforementioned Jenn...whose pleasant personality and bright smile made this a memorable meal indeed.
I would recommend this restaurant whole heartedly, and if you do go, and have the fortune to have Jenn serve you...well...tell her Robert sent you...
This is the first review I've ever done online, but I did because this place is absolutely worth it. It's kinda tucked away, but it's worth finding. Ive been there a handful of times the last few months, and each time I'm blown away on how friendly and upbeat the service is, they help recommend dishes, and they truly make you feel apreciated. The spring rolls are my favorite dish anywhere, an the vermicelli bowls are unbelievably tasty. Everything tastes fresh and authentic. Now when I go there, I put my faith in the staff and let them order for me. I'm emplore you to check this place out, I'm headed there again right now
Finally great pho in kelowna! Nice, friendly family run business. Atmosphere is lacking. Could use some vietnamese music instead of top 40.
This place is amazing!! I ordered the #24 pho with rare beef, tripe, and beef balls - its by far the best soup base I've ever had! I was visiting from vancouver so i've tried quite a few vietnamese restaurants before, nothing beats pho soc trang! If only they have a location in Vancouver... If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine and quick and friendly service, this is the place to be! PS: i love the two sisters who work on the floor, they are the nicest servers! Will definitely be back!
I came in hungry and left soooo Pho :). I came in hoping for a good experience, coming from Vancouver i didn't expect much in terms of good Pho in Kelowna.
I walked in and the place was very warm and inviting and the staff was very friendly. I knew what I wanted even before I looked at the menu, I ordered the bun bo hue noodle soup. It was the most delicious broth I've had and the cuts of meat were tender and tasty.
After talking to the servers I found that the restaurant is a family run business and that there are a few homestyle specials offered. Unfortunately I will miss the Bun Rio day, I haven't been able to find it in Vancouver.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Everyone should go eat here!!!
Awesome food!!! And Jenn really knows what she's talking about. Everyone should check Pho Soc Trang out.
Great meal. Excellent service. Jen gave us great recommendations. The decor is homey don't let it deter you from enjoying a great meal.
I've been to many Pho/Vietnamese restaurants and this place has the best broth I've had. I haven't had the vermicelli bowls yet but I will be back soon to try it. The decor is not the best but in the end it's the food that matters most. The food is very authentic very much "home style" Service was prompt and friendly. If you give it a try I guarantee that it will become one of your favorite places to eat.
Beef vermicelle bowl. Good food... bad atmopshere... the lighting is terrible and it isnt classy at all... but I would go again for the food... friendly server nice menu...
We were looking for a warm noodle soup after a chilly day on the rock. Pho Sac Trang looked inviting. I chose the spicy lemongrass pho. The flavour was intensely spicy. It was pretty good except there were only a few bits of chicken and the heat from the chilies seemed to overwhelm the lemongrass. The service was friendly. Everything tastes good when you are feeling cold and hungry! Spicy Lemongrass Noodle Soup with Chicken
Love their selection of food! Service is fast and the servers are polite and friendly. Food tastes excellent! Highly recommend getting the Vietnamese Coffee (comes both as hot and iced).
Great food! Amazing staff and would definitely recommend. Price quality is extremely good!!
Their food was so good! Plus great service!
Well deserved choice for what I wanted PHO of course!
I enjoyed the broth immensely, it was rich and tasty and the price points were reasonable.however, I was served cilantro instead of basil, lemon not lime, and we had to share bean sprouts for 2 people. I paid for extra veggies and got 3 peas and 2 broccoli so that was a let down. I would be happier to pay a higher extra charge like 5$ for at least a cup of extra veggies instead of the 3$ sprinkle.
I know my high standards are because Ive been spoiled by east coast Vietnamese food so I am comparing my overall to over a dozen different places I've eaten and this one is good enough to return for the price, the overall quality of the dish's and the perfect service.
In total 4 stars for the service was perfect, it's cozy and I enjoyed my soup.
This place is a little hidden jewel in the heart of downtown. The staff are also super friendly and efficient.
Excellent tasting food. The portions are of a decent size. The only downside is the cost. The price of each meal is on the high side ($15 average per meal) but worth it.
Pretty good pho place here in Kelowna! I usually get rare beef and beefball pho and there’s was really done well. The broth was a little fatty than what I usually get but it was still nice and flavourful.
I was happy that they also offered kids meals, something that not a lot of pho restaurants do.
I would say this place is definitely family friendly and I would definitely recommend going here.
The food is good, kitchen is able to expand the gluten free options. The restaurant was clean but not fancy. I've only been a couple times, but the restaurant has been quiet, and the service, pretty quick.
Best pho in town!! I usually order out but I love to dine in sometimes as well because it's a fun environment and great service. The broth is sooo flavorful and the veggies/meat are always delicious. There have been a few times where I've tried other places in town (only when forced to because you guys were closed, don't worry!!) and they never come close to comparing! It is safe to say I love pho soc trang :) <3
Best pho king food in Kelowna! Recommend bun bo hue and their services are excellent. My go to restaurant fo sho!
Very cozy and nice place in the heart downtown Kelowna for a delicious pho soup
The food was super tasty, fresh, served in fair sizes.
Service was extremely helpful and fast.
Foods are delicious but can be a little bit more of meat. Chilli dip fried tofu is delicious.
best pho in Kelowna! love all their appies too. We go here for the lemongrass soup base. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay warm during the cooler climate.
So far, the best dumpling soup that I have had. Their homemade chili oil was also great. Can’t wait to go back.
The pho was a bit disappointing. The broth was a bit salty but it was able to blend it out with hot water. But the noodle was too mushy.
But other plates were great. Thank you!
Truly good place to have Vietnamese cuisine!
1. House special Pho is strongly recommended. The portion is generous and very hearty and tasty
2. Grilled Meat and Spring Roll noodle bowl is super tasty too! If you are not a soup person, worth to try it.
3. Vietnamese coffee could be one of the nicest option to finish your meal. It is completely different from other coffees in town!
Great vermicelli bowls, spring rolls, and salad rolls. The iced coffee is very good, if a tad expensive. Nice dim atmosphere with large booths available.
Super friendly, polite, and kind people here. The atmosphere was great, and the pho was amazing. Not to forget the really fast service as well. Will def go back the next time I'm in town.
