The food was great here.. they even have special discount on different food items per day. I like everything we ordered here as the food was really good. It was served hot and fresh. Sauces were home-made thus it is very good. The service is good as well as we are well-attended. Servers would often comeback to check on us and refill our drinks. However the place is a bit small and with its popularity, I think they could use something bigger. Also there are some stocks in the entrance door which I think could be a hazard in case of emergency. But overall, I would comeback here for some more Spicy Chicken Karaage.

I got the smoky crunch roll which was great!
I asked for steamed vegetables for my baby, and they accommodated us with some steamed yum in baby dishes, at no charge 😌

My girlfriend and I went for dinner last night. We arrived right around peak dinner hours (5:30) and we were created promptly and professionally by am amazing young woman. Our order was taken swiftly and was brought out within a timely manner that didn't feel too rushed or take too long. The food was exceptional. We ordered some Miso soup (which I LOVED), and some veggie spring-rolls (authentic and homeade) super delicious. We also got a variety of sushi (focusing on wild salmon as the main fish) which was all very tasty and surprisingly affordable. (Our order at most high rated sushi placed would cost around $80, for us at Ume it was only $50). I have included a photo of one of my plates (we ordered twice in one sitting because it was so good). I can't thank the staff at Ume enough, service was exceptional and the food from the kitchen was spectacular. Keep up the great work guys, we will surely be back as regulars!

Ordered 2 times, place is nice and clean and the food is good. Prawn and Yam Tempura ordered were crispy but very oily. You should probably change the oil used. Chicken Karaage was ok, I have had better. It wasn't crispy, lacked tasted, just okayish. Also ordered miso soup which was good, recommended! Ordered wild sockeye salmon sushi, Cajun chicken and veggie sushi too and let me tell you veggie sushi was outstanding. Very refreshing, good filling and fresh. Loved it! Their rates are very reasonable compared to other places. Do give this place a try!

Very good yet small pieces of sushi, and very well priced. Unsure how this one has the highest reviews as Momo and Mi-Ne are much better portions and quality. However, the tempura here is amazing!

Great service, good food. You can tell the kitchen really works well together here, very warm and vibrant atmosphere. Bento box for 2 is a very good deal as well.

I have had sushi from Vancouver to TO, high end restaurants to the corner mom and pop places. Their sushi takes back to my younger days and that happy warm place. The staff is helpful and treat you like family. The whole experience was bar none. The closest Japan you can get.

I am a huge Japanese Food fan, and am sad to say there are very few places to get quality Japanese foods in my hometown. So when I visited Ume's in Kelowna I was blown away. EXCELLENT AND FRESH FOODS! Even things not on the menu. I am a vegetarian, so when I walked in and found only Chicken Tereyaki Onigiri I asked if they had any vegetarian. She whipped up two fresh onigiri with fresh ingredients. It was heaven. Additionally, they have a lot of Japanese food items for you to either eat right away (snacks, and fresh food) or other items to cook with (rice seasoning, seaweed papers, and more).
Bar none - the best Japanese take-out and grocer I have found.
