Review Tokyo 1 Asian Buffet & Bar - Kelowna

Absolutely delighted with my experience at this restaurant! The delicious variety of sushi, hot dishes, and desserts exceeded expectations. The service was impressively fast, the restaurant was clean and inviting, and the menu presentation on iPads was a beautiful touch. A perfect spot for family gatherings, outings with friends, or entertaining clients. Highly recommended!

This the best AYCE experience I've had in Canada. You order with an iPad so there are no mistakes. Very classy dining in a place that doesn't feel like AYCE. They've got quality Chinese and Japanese dishes that come in small plates. I would be tempted to call it Asian Tapas. The sashimi fish was first class which surprised me being in Kelowna, the butter fish was a dense tasty fatty fish I've never tried before but was really good. The salmon was nicely marbled and fresh. I didn't like the Albacore too much since it tasted dry. The Chinese dishes like curry fried rice, broccoli beef and noodle dishes were very good. The tempura was exceptional rivaling many fancy places I've eaten at. Light crunch batter on shrimps, calamari, scallops and sweet potato. The fried milk it's unique like a batter covered fried custard. The fried banana and sesame seed rolls were good , but we added mango ice cream to enhance it. Well worth $37. They also have a well provisioned Asian grocery.

Recently moved from the lower mainland to the Okanagan and I was worried we wouldn’t be able to find a good AYCE sushi spot, but when we came across Tokyo One it did not disappoint! - Food is great every time we go, almost always tasting fresh. We have had a few misses with the real crab, but the sashimi is always delicious. - We love that there’s so limit on how much you can order! - My favourite is the curry chicken fried rice, gyoza, pizza, and cones. My partner loves the rainbow roll, and sashimi - we honestly go just for the salmon. - The service is always quick, and friendly. There seems to always be big tables when we go, so a good spot for groups. - Bonus points, they have an awesome little market attached and it has some things I love and had a hard time finding since I’ve moved. - The only ‘con’ is that it can be quite pricey, around $100 for 2 with a tip and a drink. Usually what we order pays for itself though! We’ve made this a regular spot for a dining out, you probably will too!

Tokyo1 is extraordinary! Their All You Can Eat dinner menu is sooo worth the money. For $38/person, you get your money's worth very easily, as the dishes you can get are typically $15-20+ per plate at other restaurants. The fancy and expensive $28 sushi you normally order from restaurants, are available on Tokyo1's AYCE menu. Plus, my partner and I eat about 45 mussels each every time we come for dinner. That would be quite the bill at another seafood restaurant! We've tried nearly every menu item, and they are all supremely delicious! The staff are attentive and kind. The ambiance is cozy, yet elevated. They use an iPad as an ordering system, which is endlessly rad and convenient. They even opened up a small Japanese treats and goodies shop within the restaurant this past month, which is adorable, and filled with items that are impossible to find in Kelowna. Tokyo1 is our go-to dinner date spot!

An incredible place, everything is amazing from food to price. The staff is nice. This place offers a lot of options. Definitely recommend the grilled mussels.

Came here for lunch in a private room for a meeting. Service was pretty quick, but with so many ppl and all different orders with one tablet, it was a little confusing to know which food you ordered. If you come as just one group or family, I'm sure you'll figure it out. Service was pretty quick during a weekday lunch. Good value for lunch and you're hungry, but make sure you don't over order or you'll be charged. I'll visit again, but only if I'm hungry and I know which dishes are good so I didn't waste.

This is our go to place for all-you-can-eat sushi in Kelowna. We really enjoy the food each time we go. They have a great selection of rolls and appetizers to choose from.

You could tell everyone was working extra hard around the holidays and putting in their maximum effort. Everything was so delicious, and fast. I am so grateful you guys were open on new years. I hope you all get a well deserved break & happy new year!

The food is delicious! It comes out quick.Lors to choose from. You order off of an i pad. There is lots of seating & the chairs & booths are comfortable. I definitely recommend eating here.

A good Japanese & Chinese buffet place to hop by when you are really hungry. The sashimi, beef tataki, tempura, and rolls are fine. However, most beef with thick cuts are pretty chewy. They use an app here to order, when you confirm the order you have to wait until the waiting notification display a 0. You can call the staffs in by a single click also, pretty convenient. Overall not a bad place to hop by once in a while.

Very unique dining experience. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, many dishes came cold. Patience required as long wait times for each order. Our servers were abrupt and didn’t even respond to a thank you - maybe to tired for friendly service. Would repeat.

You can’t go wrong coming here if you are looking for all you can eat sushi. I really enjoyed their sashimi. Their surf clam and butter fish sashimi is very fresh, not fishy taste at all. The restaurant gets pretty busy during peak hours so food might take a while to get. And don’t forget to try their mango ice cream as your dessert, it’s quite tasty.

All you can eat but it is served and prepared fresh. The ordering system is really very clever. Keep in mind that your food will not come in one set. If you order four or five different things it may arrive on your table at four or five different times. The decor is left over from the previous restaurant. It needs to be refreshed and maintained. I know you don't eat the decor but it makes you worried about what the kitchen looks like.

Not sure why the bad reviews. Yes it's a little expensive, but the service was amazing, the food was amazing, and everything was so fast. Even grabbed some extras from the attached market on our way out. Also no ads at table asking for good review or offering anything for a good review.

Went here for my daughter's birthday. Most of the items were okay. Nothing really stood out as great but most things were okay. There were some stand outs that weren't great. We got teriyaki beef and the meat was very tough to chew, so we ended up leaving it. The beef short ribs were very fatty(and I like fatty), they just weren't tasty. The tuna sashimi tasted like it was just unthawed along with the rare beef slices. But the salmon sashimi was good, my daughter really liked it. There were several items that I enjoyed as well. The service isn't the greatest, they won't give you more than one menu iPad per table. So we all had to converse back and forth trying to find what we wanted and someone always had the pad when someone else wanted to see what else there was. It made figuring out what we wanted to get a long process for all of us. If we asked questions to some of the staff picking up our plates, they couldn't answer our questions. They had to get our server, I assume they either couldn't understand us or couldn't speak English. Even our server didn't know the answers to whether a food item had a specific item in it like chicken or pork. However, our food came out quickly. We ordered a lot at first because we thought it would take forever like the first time we were here and also because it was closer to closing time. Instead it came out fast and we ended having a hard time finishing everything. If you love sashimi or nigri, it is worth it as you can get your money's worth. Although, the quality of the raw fish was not great. I expect that for all you can eat, just keep it in mind. We liked enough stuff that I feel it would be worth returning for. I also like that they are open later. A lot of restaurants are not open until 10pm in town. We got there at 9pm and still had time to get everything we wanted. It cost us $120 for the 3 of us. (Plus tip) That is only the all you can eat, nothing else. Overall I would say it is a good place to try out all you can eat and see if you find enough things you like. We will be back when we have the money for it.

Fantastic service. Our waitress provided a useful tutorial on the iPad menu/ordering tablet and gave us tips on best ordering practices. She gratiously mentored me on mastering chopsticks. The food was quick and very good. Rolls were very good. I wasn't fond of the fried menu items. Good relaxing atmosphere, no rush
