Review Pulp Fiction Coffee House - Kelowna

Tables and space are quite limited in this coffee shop but It's obviously very unique coffee shop. Staffs were busy but nice. It's definitely good place to go for people travel Kelowna.

Great ambience, lovely coffee selection, special retro vibe. One of my favourite places in Kelowna. The added book store/collection (etc) is really what makes Pulp Fiction bespoke. I have found some special gems and can read some while sipping a perfect latte - what more could you ask for?

This is such an amazing place to come and feel relaxed, focused, while also being fascinated with the amazing pieces of history around you. Not to mention, the amazing service from both the workers and the owner who were all extremely warm and welcoming to all customers. As well as the delicious coffee and food. This is my new favourite place to study and wind down!

My first time to this coffee house, wow, impressed right away, loved the atmosphere outside and inside. Amazing friendly staff, splendid cappuccino - we just happen to be there when they installed the New Piano outside - memorable experience - I sure hope the owners realize their impressive staff and treat them accordingly :) Return for more: I must

The coffee shop is nice, if a bit expensive, but the rare and old book shop is incredibly cool, staffed by the owner when I went who went out of his way to make sure we knew where all the collections were and help us find what we were looking for, definitely the best vintage bookstore I've seen in Kelowna. The book prices are higher than a typical used book shop ($5-$50+ for some very old or rare books) but there are options here that are unlike any I've seen at other used bookstores and it's far more curated too. Very worth a visit for any book fan!

Excellent coffee shop/cafe, extremely unique style and eclectic mix of a cafe that meets a library/book store. Friendly staff and excellent drinks and food. As they say it “art, books and antiques, all in a groovy retro atmosphere in downtown Kelowna “

Fell in love with browsing around and also dining in, while reading the newly bought books. I would love to come back whenever I am back in the area. Came in to experience the vibe and it was so priceless. Got so engrossed in the experience that I forgot to take more pictures deeper inside of the sections and rooms of Robbie Rare Books. Very grateful for people like Max to live out the dream and sustain a valuable establishment like this to carry on the history and legacy of pulp fiction which is harder to find these days.

Foods and drinks here are amazing. The cinnamon buns are heavenly and the antiques are engaging. Most of the staff are lovely except the grumpy old man, would it kill him to smile? and he shouldn't bark orders at his staff like he does. But great other than that

Wondered through the downtown area of Kelowna looking for a place for breakfast before getting picked up for a wine tour and I'm pleased my Dad and I stumbled upon this place. Very friendly, welcoming staff, great drinks and simple, speedy and delicious food. We enjoyed sitting outside in the sun watching the city wake up around us. I felt we were looked after really well as our hosts noticed we were in the sun and rearranged the outdoor umbrellas to ensure we were adequately shaded. Do yourself and your tastebuds a favour and check out this neat place.

Such an excellent place! If you have never been, you are missing out. Friendly & welcoming staff, who offer to give your pup water on the patio. Their coffee, baked treats and Malts are all delicious! It's hard to pick a favourite. You cannot beat the quality of service and product you receive from this unique treasure in downtown Kelowna. Check them out!!

This might be the best coffee house I've been in: a place of respite with great coffee and food, and an atmosphere that takes you back; even if you've never experienced life before our present chaos, you'll get a taste of it here.

The absolute best little coffee shop downtown Kelowna!

Good service, fun place and really good food/drinks. Just small and not much room to stand in line

Awesome cappuccinos! Such a cool coffee place. Took my mom and her two friends there, the one gal loves old books, and she loved it!! Friendly staff and owner! And can't forget Robbie, the super friendly doggie CEO...loved him too! We'll be going back for sure!

Pulp Fiction.. your fantastic service, cute baristas, cozy atmosphere, and extraordinary coffee was already reason enough of you being my favorite coffee shop. You didn't have to impress me with open mic night too!

I had a breve Americano and it was delicious. My daughters had a croissant and rocky road treat and they loved it. Retro and fun atmosphere. Very friendly employees.

Great place! Great atmosphere! Love to be surrounded by books while sipping their tasty beverages.

By far the best coffee and service in the Okanagan. Thank you pulp fiction. Cheers.

Best coffee I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The atmosphere is really cool and welcoming😙

Nice flaky croissant with a good amount of bacon, eggs, & cheese in the middle. Kombucha was really good. Antiques & old books create a neat atmosphere. (4/5 🌟)

This place has a great atmosphere and the customer service was fantastic. The perfect spot for a catch up with a friend or for studying/reading. The coffee was great too (I got an Americano). It was nice to be served good coffee with a smile!

Get off the chain coffee track and enjoy homemade desserts and delicious java and teas, served up by sweet young baristas, all surrounded by the badass smell of old pulp fiction books. I love this place!

THE BEST!. Artistic, welcoming, classy and unique. Easily the best place in town to just chill. Sunday nights (2pm-?) are open mic nights, which very enjoyable and usually a full-house. I've tried the "Peachy Keen" & dark chocolate mocha, as well as the chocolate macadamia cookie, and loved them all. Service is excellent. Currently my favorite indoor spot in the Okanagan.

Unique atmosphere with fab coffee.. I am lucky enough to enjoy this fine establishment regularily as I live in Kelowna. Independently owned is a refreshing change and this is truly reflected in the decor and choice of goods. The attached antique book store, Robbie's, is a great place to spend hours browsing or to find a perfect gift, incredible books! The coffee and coffee drinks are always great and the staff is friendly. Some fantastic pastries, provided from some of the best sources in town. I highly recommend this coffee house if you want a CHANGE FROM cookie cutter corporate coffee establishments.

A delicious cappuccino with a side of nostalgia. This is a new favourite of mine!
Had a delicious coffee and lunch with my sister and afterwards perused the amazing selection of vintage books and antiques. It was fairly busy when I went on a Sunday afternoon which goes to show that the locals are really taking to such a unique environment which gives the ere of Paris' Shakespeare & Co. but with a gritty Taratino/ coffee with Jules and Vincent flare.

Will be back and often as there is so much to see and look at!

Pretty, but pretty doesent cut it.. First of all, the place is beautiful at a glance, so I went there to study even tho word on campus is that its not very student friendly. I however, like old things and thought it might a great new spot for me since I'm often downtown. I got a hot chocolate and a muffin and settled in to study, both my drink and muffin were below average, they must have made my hot chocolate with half water or skim milk, i was very underwhelmed, this is funny because others have also had the same problem. I got the impression that i was being shooed out of the cafe to make room for other customers? That's not what coffee houses are about they are for building community, not profits. Any way, word on the wire was correct, not very friendly for young foodie people, better suited for antique collectors, aka old people. close but no cigar, perhaps when I'm older ill grow to enjoy weak watery beverages.

Watery. One complaint: PF's hot chocolate.
Worse than Starbucks.

(Blenz has really good hot chocolate, I was hoping PF's would be at their level)

This is one of the only places in Kelowna that does coffee right. Being from Vancouver it has been tough to find somewhere that compares to Vancouvers coffee scene. Pulp fiction cafe is the closest I have found. They use Vancouvers 49th Parallel espresso and they know how to pull an awesome shot. I strongly recommend people go here and try it, food is awesome, coffee is the best in Kelowna, and the atmosphere is really unique. The staff are lovely and the owner is a very pleasant man who is very passionate about his books!

Please give this place a try, I recommend a small wet cappuccino
(they call it a flat white) in a to stay cup. It's like drinking a s'more in a cup :)

Great place, I am now a new regular.
Janice
Cute place, close to my house so I can run over for a coffee in the morning before work. Decent prices for all the items I've tried. I'd choose this over Starbucks any day

Amazing, unique and fun coffee shop. Pulp Fiction is great! It has a great vibe and very cool antiques that you can't find anywhere else.(very cool books, clocks and collectables) The staff are super friendly and they have very good coffee and some great healthy gluten free snacks and different sandwiches. This is a great place to take a date!

Unique Coffee Shop. We were recently in Kelowna to visit friends and were looking for a spot to have a coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our Cappuccino and London Fog Tea, and found the Squirrely Bars addictive. The place has great atmosphere and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Had a great time wondering through the rare books afterwards. Enjoyed ourselves so much we came back the next day with friends. Its a classy spot and well worth a visit! We'll definitely be back next trip through Kelowna.

We are New - We are making mistakes - We are Evolving - We want to be the best . The food inspector was here yesterday and gave us a passing mark including the dog which stays on the rare book/antique side ALWAYS – Robbie Rare Books is a separate business from the coffee shop with walls and a gate between the two ( seperate staff & cash register ). we take any negative comments to heart and seriously endeavor to evolve and improve as quickly as we can. Have been in business about 9 months so we still have much to learn.

My Favorite coffee shop. I have almost always had a pleasant experience hanging out at Pulp, Robbie is a pleasant little buddy who nicely stands behind the gate line of the antique store part of the establishment, never in the food and beverage area. I must say I rarely drink coffee here but when i have its good, better than most places outside of my own home...LOL. However the Chai Tea Lattes and London Fogs are Amazing!!!!! Food: well this is my treat place as a rarely eat sandwiches and very much favor the jalepeño roast beef on marble rye. YUM. The proprietors have given us a great place to frequent with character and standards. I know some of the staff are short lived because of the high expectations set. How to say it... "Old School Style and Values" nice to see these days!

Mostly SMALL TABLES. Our seating is very limited ( 26 seats ); smaller than most shops. We have two relatively larger mid floor tables that will accomodate 4 people and each table has a sign that reads " No singles please - two - four people" Along the windows are long narrow tables for six that are shared by multiple customers. We cater to and love our students;most are attracted to our coffee shop because of our lightening fast free WiFi,good service and great coffee. Most of our evening buisness comes from students who enjoy the work atmosphere..

Got shooed to a small table when studying. I was studying hard for a test at a larger table, the cafe was pretty much empty besides me and another man sitting by the window. I got asked to move to a smaller table..... ill never be back needless to say. My coffee dident taste very good either

Best, Fantastic Spot in Town. Great place to stop in for a coffee and chat with your friends, staff are very friendly and ready to help, bright and awesome décor, love love love the old books. YOU MUST COME AND SEE THIS PLACE. Corner of Pandosy and Ellis where the green awnings are. Love the music.

DISGUSTING.. I don't want to slander any company. I'm just going to state facts.
The coffee is gross, the staff is unknowledgeable.
The staff takes the brunt of the complaints, which is not their fault if they aren't trained properly.
There shouldn't be a pet (family dog) allowed in any establishment that serves food or beverages...guide/service animals only
Ryan Le Roux
Too Bad. Been here a couple of times and the coffee wasn't very good given this is a coffee house... Owner was quite rude too... Boo

Pulp Fiction. I was initially very excited by this cafe, with the antiques and ambient atmosphere but when I got my first americano, the shots tasted old and not timed properly, as well, the staff were quite un-knowledgeable about the coffee. I don't blame the staff but the people who are in charge of training the staff, there is no leadership here. They focus too much on the atmosphere and not enough on the products and coffee. There is also a dog wandering around inside, I am a huge animal lover but am very allergic to certain animals and I found it very against food safety regulations. I ordered a panini once and it tasted very dry and bland, when I asked the staff when it was made they said they weren't sure as nothing was dated. More leadership and knowledgeable staff would make this an excellent place for a coffee and lunch.

Not a winner for me. Initially i was impressed by this place; bright, shiny, good vibe and a cute schtick. Unfortunately the coffee is pretty average and the baked goods, while typical at first, were replaced by some awful pastries. The unusual thing is they looked absolutely smashing--pie, cookie, cupcake--but were terrible. Lack of flavour, overly sweet and tasting like they were made with poor quality base ingredients made all the more disappointing by the fact that they appeared professionally made. Blech, is all I can say.
Tyler
Most potential worst service and products. After seeing the cafe open I checked it out since it had a nice ambient only to find out that it has TERRIBLE service and even worse coffee, the staff weren't trained and everything was clunky.

Pulp Fiction Coffee House is a special place that has found its way into the hearts of many locals with an appreciation for nostalgia and cafe culture. The two marry to create a place unlike any other and can only be explained as if Paris’ iconic Shakespeare & Co. had coffee with Quentin Tarantino on the set of Pulp Fiction. It’s a space you’ll want to inhabit during a long Sunday afternoon and to top it all off you can shake hands with resident antique sleuth and genius behind it all, Max Sloan & his partner in crime, Robbie the Standard Poodle. As it turns out this cafe is much more fantastic than fiction!
