I've been going to this restaurant for years. The dim sum is always excellent and about the closest to authentic your going to find in kamloops. I've never eaten off the main menu but everything looks delicious. Great prices and excellent service.
It's a small restaurant that isn't very eye catching but the service was excellent. More importantly, the food was made perfectly. My mother is very picky when it comes to Chinese but even she said it was delicious!
My bf and I come here often for the dim sum. The dim sum selection is limited compared to what you can get in the Vancouver area but it's relatively good. I'd say this is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Kamloops not just for the food but also the atmosphere...we get a kick out of hearing the chef/family members yelling in Chinese in the kitchen. I recommend checking it out. My two favourite dim sum dishes there are the steamed prawn dumplings and steamed BBQ pork dumplings.
Enjoyed the dim sum. We visited Victoria Oriental Restaurant on a recent Sunday. We ordered shrimp dumplings and a variety of other dim sum items. Everything arrived piping hot and very tasty. We'll be back!

Found this place by chance while looking for good dim sum. 2nd time as good as first. Not Richmond but they wouldn't have the access to fresh - Vgood and worth a try, although service could be more pleasant.
It's all about the food. Love the food . The salt & pepper squid and green bean with meat dishes are fantastic. Customer service is slower than you might expect but the food makes up for it. The Dim sum is also very good. great taste and quality. Prices were decent as well. I recommend everybody try it..
Excellent. An across the board improvement from Good Meals. Food is outstanding, among the best chinese food we've ever had anywhere in Canada or China for that matter. Decor is much improved to the point of being quaint. Service is a weak point but almost to be expected in this type of establishment. It didn't lessen the experience in the least. Go for the food and enjoy.

Food Great but Service was Bad!!. We have wanted to check out this restaurant since the name changed from The Good Meals Restaurant to Victoria Oriental Restaurant. We were very impressed with the renovations done to the inside of the place. Contrary to when it was Good Meals Restaurant, the new decor is more modernized and cleaned up. They serve dim sum but we decided to order from the menu. The food was very tasty and the portion sizes were ample. However, the service needs to be improved before I would consider going back in the near future. The two front staff members seemed disinterested in attending to their tables. I had to request service twice to have our water glasses re-filled and once again to ask them for our bill. The hot pot was served last after we had finished eating. The table next to us arrived after us and we received the hot pot after that table was served their food.
Our Rating: MUST improve their attentiveness to their customers. We will go back to try their selection of dim sum and other specialty dishes.

I happen to be needing some take out and I decided to check this place out before doing a more serious "eat-in." It has been gutted and remodelled inside and out. A welcome surprise. I discovered they offered dim sum. Wow, dim sum could be a risky venture
