Review Swiss Chalet Rotisserie & Grill - Kamloops

Came here to try it out. It did not disappoint. The chicken was tender and juicy, and portion was large. It was enough to fill me up. The desserts are also good, very creamy and tasty cheesecake. The place is quite new, and very clean. Great place to dine!

I love swiss chalet! Had the pesto penne and it was 😋. If they woulda had more chicken, skipped the bone i found and been a bit less expensive i would have given them 5 stars.

The service is on time and overall the staff has been polite. Although the food isn't upto to the mark. For the price they charge they certainly can do way better.

Fantastic time tonight at Swiss Chalet..a awesome fun time was had. Great painting for a great cause KELLI and great drinks, food and service..always a great place to go! You'll be glad you did!

Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The festive season supper was great and at a good price.

Best roast beef meal I've ever had! Food came quickly and was hot, steamed veggies were perfectly cooked, service was fantastic, place was clean. Only thing that would make it better is seats being reupholstered, but everything else was so good it was easy to ignore.

I would give it 5 stars but I have been going to swiss chalet for 40 years in Ontario....Home of Swiss Chalet and they always give a warm finger bowl with lemons. It is a Swiss Chalet ritual. NOT THIS TIME. It may sound trivial to most but this has been part of the Swiss Chalet experience from day 1. At this swiss chalet we received ice cold bowls of water with zero lemon in it. We only got 1 at the table of 4 adults and my wife had to ask for at least 1 more for herself....hers arrived with ice cubes floating in it. No lemon in hers either. She inquired about the lemon bowls and the server stated that in BC they only give them to people who order ribs. She said they just got a letter today stating that they were supposed to start giving these bowls of warm lemon water to all chicken or rib orders. Our food was incredibly delicious here though and our server was exciting and friendly and polite beyond words. She was truly a breath of fresh air. Her manager went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and even 30 minutes after closing, they refused to rush us out the door. We will definitely return to dine here. Thank you for a great dinner!

Family of 4 visiting from Alberta and stopped In for a quick bite, service was outstanding, our waitress was Tara and she was extremely attentive and friendly and also had great sense of humor. Beer was cold food was hot. Tara is very good at her job and made the lunch worth stopping in for all on her own. Thanks for such amazing service Tara. Waitresses like this make people come back.

I have had several meals here over the last few weeks. Ribs yum! Steak New York 8oz - So good! There service, quality of food...and the taste is fantastic. The Manager there 'Ken' (as he introduced himself ) was fantastic and my 5yr old little girl said the garlic loaf was "outstanding" - she was right the menu for kids is great. The adults has a superior selection with excellent friendly service and food that was served in under 10 mins!! <br/>Not to mention the treasure chest of a free toy for kids....<br/>Highly Recommend.

The service here last weekend was superb! The staff was very accommodating to our family of three kids. We'd go back just based on the service and kids menu alone

Who is running this place??. Im from out of province and i normally love swiss chalet but this is the worst run swiss chalet ive ever experienced do not recomend it to anyone ever in any way shape or form go anywhere else!!

What were we thinking?. I really, really do not recommend Swiss Chalet. It was completely empty at 6pm, which should have been our first warning sign, but we chose to dine anyways. <br/><br/>Our waitress and hostess were very nice, but that is where the pleasantness stopped. <br/><br/>The menu was large, but somehow limited. Several pages of many variants of very few things. <br/><br/>I ordered a wrap, hard to mess up. It had absolutely no dressing on it - it was dry chicken and burned bacon, with a bit of wilted lettuce. To try and remedy how dry it was, I attempted dipping it in the signature "Chalet Sauce", boy was that a mistake! Chalet Sauce is a horrendous concoction of everything in your kitchen cupboard. It didn't know whether to be a sauce or a soup, it reeked of allspice, and it was acidic like vinegar. Terrible. <br/><br/>Overpriced, dry, bland, boring, and I experienced terrible stomach pains soon after dining. <br/><br/>I would not go again.

So bad!. Queenie, the manager is a total C U next Tuesday!<br/><br/>You need to get off your high horse. You should be fired. Half the reason why Swiss Chalet sucks is because of you.

Used to be a fan. I used to love swiss chalet until i moved to kamloops the one here is run terribly and the manager is rude and condescending

A Good Experience. My wife and I came in for dinner, ordered the 1/4 chicken and fries with a salad and dessert. Sierra, our hostess, was pleasant, and informed us of the drink specials. Our order was taken by another hostess as ours was obviously busy. Our order was brought in a timely fashion, as were the drink refills. Food was good, as was the service. No complaints here. Well done folks.

Disgusting terrible service from the manager. Nearly walked out as the manager mocked me when we complained about our meal. She patronized us by offering something we didn't want twice. Not professional at all and frankly disgusted with how she runs a business. We have loved the Swiss chalet in Calgary but it seems like there are two different places altogether. She has lost our business and we will tell everyone we know what terrible we received by this particular manager!

Never go there again.... My husband ordered the fish and chips and it tasted off to him. He didn't touch it after that but when the manager in kamloops found out, she offered no apologies with no discounts either. We will never go back to that place again! Terrible service and the manager had an aweful attitude.

Walked out. First time I've ever walked out of a restaurant without getting my meal. We got our drinks and our appy but the LUNCH never came even when the server said it'll be "two minutes". Who was never seen again. Other patrons noticed us leaving and said they were also waiting a long time for service.

The Swiss Chalet portion of the restaurant was excellent, with friendly staff, welcoming owner and good food. The Harvey's hamburger section was a disappointment . Staff member yawning and just short of rude, we we're treated like invaders rather than customers. We'll pass on future visits, at least for a while. Maybe the staff training will improve.

The reason i love going here is the food great poeple working there great, but the manger calling me a boy! not cool but over all great :)

Terrible experience, called to see if wait time for table, told no, got there 5 min. Later, 15 minute wait time! THEN find a till tape on the plate UNDER the food, comped a dessert, frozen in the middle. YUK! Won't see me in there again!

Disappointed. How can 2 identical meals be so different ? my wife and i both ordered the 1/3 combo and yet the chicken portion on her plate was twice the size of mine , the mash on my plate was barely a tablespoon , both coleslaws were dry and the ribs bland. The famous Swiss Chalet sauce is disgusting and would disposable handwipes be to much to ask for ?<br/>to top it all off our server decided as she passed our table that it would be a good idea to top up my wifes earl grey tea with coffee.<br/>a disappointing experience and a complete waste of $50 , we wont be returning thats for sure if we want chicken and ribs then its gonna be Montanas every time

The food was good, the service was great. Christina was wonderful as a server. Very upbeat and her smile infectious . Well done Christina!!!!!

EXCELLENT. The Swiss Chalet never disappoints, good, friendly service, very clean restaurant and washrooms, and most of all excellent food.

Swiss Chalet - Opening Week. On the day I arrived Swiss Chalet in Kamloops had been open for 4 nights. I was surprised by how big it was and they certainly overstaffed to make sure everything ran smoothly. It had been 23 years since I was a regular SC customer and I was waiting impatiently for this restaurant to open. <br/><br/>Our server was a young lady named Katie. She was attentive and friendly, as well as knowledgeable about the menu. She asked if we had been to Swiss Chalet before and gave us the run down on the menu. I will say now that throughout the meal the service was great - she checked in with us twice, made sure drinks stayed filled, brought out finger bowls and engaged in some conversation when the bill arrived. And, unlike almost every restaurant in town, she did not bring the bill while we were still eating - she waited until we were done. <br/><br/>I ordered the "festive" quarter chicken dinner with white meat and my guest ordered the regular quarter chicken with white meat. The difference was, for a couple bucks more, cranberry sauce, stuffing and a package of 5 Lindor chocolates. <br/><br/>I will only speak for myself, not my guest, but the meal was hit-and-miss for me. A lot more hit than miss. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone great. It was cooked to rotisserie perfection Likewise the fries were great and in abundance. Cranberry sauce was as expected - hard to mess that up. The stuffing was rather gummy and sticky - tasted good but it was made too moist then had dried before serving into something clumpy. The roll was also good, but nothing to write home about. Sadly, it was served with a frozen pat of butter that was quite useless until I laid it on my fries to defrost. And the legendary sauce was not as good as I remembered but, let's be honest, 23 years of anticipation has likely clouded my judgment. The sauce was good but in my mind I was hoping for awe-inspiring. <br/><br/>When the meal was done, the bill came to under $35 for the 2 dinners and 2 non-alcoholic beverages which I consider a great price. The server also pointed out there was a free appetizer on the receipt for next visit (online survey required) and the Lindors had a "2 Can Dine For $14.99" coupon on the box - another great deal. <br/><br/>If you like chicken, and you like simple but good meals, Swiss Chalet is a great place. I don't know if they will be able to maintain service levels after the holidays but, if they can, that will be great. The manager came over to check on us as well, and that was a nice touch. Keep it up Swiss Chalet! We will be back - no doubt about it!

I have been wanting a Swiss Chalet in Kamloops ever since I relocated here from Eastern Canada where Swiss Chalets were very common and popular. And now that it is finally here, I didn’t lose any time paying them a visit. They opened on a Monday and I was there on the Saturday! Will all this anticipation lead to a happy reunion or will it result in an underwhelming experience?
