Review Embers Steakhouse - Jasper

This restaurant has the atmosphere of a warm and welcome bar. The menu consists mostly of steaks of all sort but you're also able to get other plates like vegetable meals as well. I was here during mid-week and had the 12 oz Sirloin steak which I found to be prepared very well. The taste was as expected and the fries were tasteful too. Prices are good for what you'll get. Staff is friendly and understanding. Certainly worth the visit.

Barbeque plate is a bit dry and over cooked even though I asked for medium rare. Breakfast buffet has very limited items and it costs $17.

I didn't have particularly high expectations but I was still disappointed. In fairness to the staff it was busy as there was a private function in the dining room and the lounge filled up because of that and there were only 2 staff members on duty. However when we arrived there were only 3 other tables occupied and both had already placed their order. It took about half an hour for them to take our orders once we were seated. The margaritas were awful and once the food arrived we had to send it back because the ribs were barely lukewarm. The food was replaced but no apology. We weren't asked if we wanted more drinks once our first ones were finished and the tap water was not refilled at all. I understand that they were busy but no apology for the delay is unacceptable to me.

Its been months since I've been there on a snowboarding trip with a buddy and I'm still thinking about the burger I had. Hands down the best burger I've ever had, it was juicy and was overall delicious. The fries were great and the rum and coke I had was well balanced. The only thing is the service was slow, but I believe they were understaffed that night. I highly recommended this place, I will be dropping by whenever I'm back in town!

Went here after a local bartender at the ski resort told us the steaks were better than Earl's. The steak was very tough with fat that you couldn't even chew, definitely frozen not fresh and I ordered mine rare. The mashed potatoes I ordered for a side were cold. Would still recommend going to Earl's for a good steak.

So, I came in here to get a great steak and eggs. When I come in, the place is empty. When we ask for a table, they say go ahead and we take a table. The buffet wasn’t open yet, and 30 minutes later, no one had told us when it would open or opened it. At that point we just left. I was glad we did later, when we noticed that it had a 2.5 star average (2017).
