Review The Lake Simcoe Arms - Jacksons Point

Hadn't been there in quite some time and decided I needed to go back. I remembered having had the French onion soup and it was very good. I had it again and it was just as tasty. Lovely broth with lots of onions and a very generous topping of cheese which was melted and browned on the side. I had the roast beef dip and was very pleased with the amount of meat on the sandwich. Nice tender beef with no fat and some decent juice for dipping. The chef salad that comes with it is good as well. I was actually there on two occasions within a two-day period with different friends. One had the curry chicken. I can't remember what my other friend ate but they were both equally pleased with both the food quality and the serving sizes. Servers are attentive and pleasant and the restaurant has a nice pub like atmosphere. The photo shows my soup and roast beef dip with the curry chicken in the background.

Nice little pub by Jackson's Point. We were lucky to get a spot outside on the patio. We ordered the chicken fingers with fries, poutine, and ceasar salad. They were all very good. Customer service was excellent. Two thumbs up!

i've been in the area for 5 yrs and never tried this place til now. my mom and I ate dinner here (i had the "so carolina!" chicken fingers w. fries and my mom had the fish and chips) and left so stuffed. service was fast and friendly, place was clean, and the food was great! would definitely recommend and totally coming back soon with the boyfriend! update: I have gone back a few times now with my friends and boyfriend. all of these other times have not been the best. tonight our server was very friendly it's just that the service was very slow although it didn't look crazy busy inside. (we waited about 10 minutes until the debit machine was brought to us.) the food was still fantastic which is why I've changed it only from a 5 star to a 3.

My girlfriend is new to the area and we decided to check out a new place for date night and I must say this had to have been one of the best experiences at a “pub style” restaurant I’ve had in a LONG time. I really wish I got our servers name because she was part of the reason the experience was so good. She didn’t come and ask us how the food was every 12 seconds which was phenomenal but when she was present she was incredibly friendly, we made great conversation and overall just resonated great energy (if you see this, we hope you had an awesome time at the screaming heads in burke falls). We would definitely come back solely based on the experience with the staff however, the second element that plays a huge role in the review is of course the food so let me tell you all about that…. We decided to order off of the weekend specials menu, we started with the chicken curry rolls which we learned the owners wife makes herself exclusively for the specials and they did not disappoint, they were absolutely delicious. Now for the main course, I ordered the seafood linguine and I’ll be honest, I set myself up for “disappointment”. I’m sure you know how it is when it comes to ordering seafood at a restaurant, you always assume they’d get skimpy on the portions but let me tell you…they did the COMPLETE opposite. My seafood linguine has 12 mussels, 4 big shrimp, about 6 scallops and the equivalent of an appetizer portion of calamari all in a single order of seafood linguine. When I say this meal challenged me, that is an understatement. I genuinely had to push myself to finish the plate and the food coma afterwards was definitely worth it! Before anyone says it, yes I know it’s uncommon to order seafood linguine at a pub style restaurant and I assure you I originally wanted to get a burger but when I read the description in the specials menu, I had to go for it! If I could leave a 6 star review I would. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the Georgina/Jacksons Point area.

We were in Sutton for a wedding and decided to try this place out, we are glad we did great service from start to finish, host was very accommodating for where we wanted to be seated. We had a very pleasant waitress who brought our food out at a good pace. Appetizers we had was spinach dip and the sweet potato waffle friends (delish)Hubby had a burger and i had chicken fingers both were really great. Dessert we each had cheesecake.. yum. Loved the gazebo out beside the pub reminded me of Gilmore Girls so had to take a picture :)

Great Sheppard's pie, sweet potato lattice fries and environment. Flashy police station lighting outside not really necessary, but would return again!

Excellent atmosphere, jalapeño poppers best ever. Not just stuffed and fried. But the hi-light was Be KY the server. She gave us the feeling she was family. Very sincere. I made the comment how busy she was, and her reply was, "whatever table I'm at becomes my only table" nice to find someone who seems to like their job!

Good fast service. Appetizers arrived quickly, and then main course right as App. finished. Good food. For price. Kinda cold tho. Breeze from somewhere. Old building I guess. Also I guess it's for ease of service, but in a fairly large place, I don't like when they lump tables close together . A group of about 6 or 8 beside us, pretty loud. Distracting. Maybe I could ask to be moved... but why place me there in the first place? I'd go back.
