Nice intimate wine place! Serves good food and service! Cant complain at all. Opened till late. Next to a club of you want a change of scenery but really cozy quite or even a group place!
Came here for dinner with friends on New Year's Eve. Opted out of the set menu as it was so much food. The cheese fondue appetizer was incredibly tasty and the main course was even better. The beef duo was cooked to perfection and the array of vegetables that came with it was superb. Definitely worth the price not only for the quantity of food but also the quality. Would highly recommend this place.
One of the best meals I've ever had. Everything from the wine to the meal and the dessert. All incredible. Definitely go out of your way to eat here.
This restaurant will always have a special place in my heart. R and I came here for our 4 year wedding anniversary and the setting of the restaurant was absolutely amazing. We sat out on the patio and was surrounded by a canopy of trees and plants. The service was wonderful and the food, even more so. I had dressed up a bit thinking it would be a little fancier due to the menu items, but there were people there in shorts and t-shirts. So it would be great whether you're looking to dress up or even if you don't but want a nicer meal.
We planned dinner in the area as we do on each Wednesday during our two weeks in Radium every summer. I looked through all the reviews for any of the places we were tossing around and Birchwood came up on top against all other places and reviews. So, we made a reservation and off we went to Invermere for 6:00. We were seated promptly by a friendly helpful, young hostess. Our server, Louise, was wonderful. My companions were my 82 year old Father, his like-aged girlfriend and my 18 year old son. We ordered the bread and the calamari for appetizers. The bread is local artisanal served with three types of butter (sun-dried tomato, olive and regular). The calamari was fresh and lightly breaded over a light chopped pepper/tomato salad and what was described as a smoked tzatziki (I didn't taste the smoke but it was good). For entrees, my son and I each had the steak and lobster mac and cheese. My Father and companion had the citrus braised lamb shank. We were all very happy with our meals. The shanks were huge and well received. The steak had a nice crust but a soft non-chewy finish. The son proclaimed the lobster mac and cheese one of the best he's had (surprisingly, he's had it a lot). After, we were just sitting and enjoying the atmosphere while awaiting the bill when Louise came by with a kitchen 'mistake' of two ice cream sandwiches. Well, that just put everything over the top. The dessert is hard to describe due to how good it is. Homemade ice cream is sandwiched between two cookie type, chewy in a good way, brownies and placed over a dulce de leche sauce with some crunchy brittle. Just amazing. Highly recommended!
What an excellent dinner! I came here with my wife and parents on a Saturday evening and it was everything we hoped it would be. A nice and small restaurant with rustic but homely feel. Crostini trio to start was full of beautifully paired flavours. I ordered the pork chop and it was definitely one of the best chops I have ever had. Perfectly cooked and served on a bed of rustic potato salad. My wife and mom had the daily special if scallops and prawns with lobster risotto and both loved their meals. My dad wasn't feeling very well and ordered the smoked tuna salad but had only good things to say about it. The dessert was the highlight for me. Do yourself a favour and order the ice cream sandwich. If you like chocolate and peanut butter...this sandwich could create world peace. All in all the service was friendly and prompt. Next time I am in Invermere i will revisit Birchwood.
One of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant. I ordered their special, a creamy pasta with shredded duck and cubed yellow beets. It was delicious! My friend ordered pork chops wrapped in pancetta with gnocci and other vegetables. It was also delicious. We also got dessert (amazing) and shared a bottle of wine and the total came to just under 100$. Well worth the cost. Our server was really nice, funny, and attentive. Will definitely visit next time I'm in Invermere.
Food is quite decent - not top end but a higher quality than practically anything else in the area. Waiting staff very attentive. Wine and cocktail list pretty good. Patio nice.
Excellent Service and Food. We had the meatloaf and it was excellent! Service was top notch!! We would definitely return to the Birchwood.
Best in Invermere! Period.
Never let's us down. Best place for consistently great food in Invermere. LOVE!
Real real real good! Not cheap but worth every penny! Portion size is decent. Lamb was amazing so was crostini appetizer and my husband loved pork tenderloin. Not something you expect to find in Invermere. Call ahead to make a reservations!!!
February 17, 2013. A yank and an Invermerian supped quite deliciously on this date. The crostini appetizer: Outstanding. Likewise the soup of the day; a celery root and lobster if I recall correctly. We both had the special which was sirloin with a wild mushroom and Gorgonzola tart and a vegetable medley of spinach, golden beet, squash, cauliflower, and carrot. All perfectly prepared. Two drinks apiece and a very reasonable final tally. Look no further. The best food in town.
Best choice ever. No cheap at all but worth every penny. Had beef duo and chicken duo and they were superb. Service was good too.
Showed up on a week night and only one person working. She was friendly and apologetic about what might've been a bit of a wait. Despite this our order was taken quickly and another waitress showed up shortly after. The staff were extremely prompt and friendly. Now let's get to the food. This may have been one of the best meals i have ever eaten. At first i was a little leery about the portion sizes but it must have been an illusion. I had the chicken duo with sweet potato hash, and couldn't believe how it was all perfectly cooked and unbelievably flavourful. The meal left me full but not overfull and I was completely satisfied. Going in as a sceptic and being sure I was going to be overpaying like it seems we do for everything these days i had no issue, and felt i paid for an amazing meal. 5 stars
Delicious, well made, gourmet food. Everything I ordered was excellent, and my glass of water was never empty. Be sure to order the crostini trio appetizer.
Absolutely amazing. Had the lamb meatball melt, so good I was full half way through but I could not stop eating. Would recommend to all if your in invermere u need to eat here
A gem in the Columbia Valley. Amazing food. Great ambience. Outstanding service. If you're passing anywhere near Invermere, you owe it to yourself to phone Janice and book a table immediately!
Never disappointing.
Always on the must visit list with business customers and family.
Very interesting BC estate wines too. That's always a good thing in my world!
Pleasantly surprised. I never thought in a million years i would dine at such a restaurant in invermere B.C. The food was beyond exceptional, i could taste every flavour that the chef intended for me to taste, and everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was not over done, just a subtle but fresh contemparary feel. The service very friendly and informative. a must try to see for your self!!
Nice atmosphere, lovely staff and the food was amazing! Very limited vegan options (only one appy and one main) but the food was really good. Would like to see more options for me, or possible accommodations to make meals vegan but otherwise great experience. We got the cauliflower bites, noodle bowl, and some cocktails. The watermelon cocktail was really good! Price is high but the meals are large portions for fine dining. You get what you pay for!
Fantastic place. Been there a few times and it's always delightful. Great atmosphere, friendly and competent staff, good pacing, an accommodating kitchen (for special requests) and delicious food. I would be hard pressed to think of anything they could improve.
The food and drinks were amazing!!! We will definitely be back the next time we are back in town!
The beef carpacio was melt in your mouth. Steak and short rib dish!! Heavenly. AMAZING!
My husband and I came for dinner and were seated in your heated covered patio. Such a nice and cosy atmosphere. Staff was attentive and friendly . Food was delicious, presentation was great. Thank you!
Exceptional service and food. If you have the chance to eat here, do it. Not many restaurants offer Lamb on the menu and it did not disappoint, I’ve never had lamb so tender that it slides right off the bone! If we had room we would have tried the in house ice cream sandwich, but we went for the mini donuts instead and they melted in my mouth. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant, friendly and joyful and we will make a point of coming back and sharing our experience with friends and family beyond this Google review. 10/10 worth every penny to visit this intimate restaurant! The atmosphere at Birchwood is one you don’t want to pass up and couldn’t have asked for anything more from this place.
Make sure you get a reservation here! If you are in Invermere, you have to eat here! The food was amazing. The chef is bold with their creations, but it absolutely works. the owner and staff are all very easy going and great to converse with. You can tell everyone just enjoys working there, and that makes a world of different in a truly amazing dining experience.
We are still smiling about the wonderful diner we had here, days later.
Amazing cuisine, top notch service!
You must eat here!
Fast, efficient, and friendly service. Impeccable food, and, the patio is just lovely. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality of food. What more is there to say? I can't think of a single negative aspect of our dinner. If I could give it six stars I would. I absolutely recommend it.
