Review Che Burrito & Lounge - Hamilton

Peter Chanthanakone (Director)
Nice dive bar if you're from out of town with daily drink specials. Scott, the bartender is a good guy

Che is an anomaly amoung Hess. It serves a crowd of savvy millennials while keeping too it's early urban routes.

If you are looking for emo night..... this is your spot every friday night! This bar is great for dancing if you just want to show up in your converse and jeans- no hoity toity atmosphere here. Its a great place for a fantastic night signing to throwbacks with your friends. The only thing is beware of the washrooms!

Went on a Friday night, fun dive bar type situation. The music went from emo throwbacks to top 40, kind of strange but still a fun unpretentious place to dance with reasonable drink prices.

Always an amazing time on Friday nights. I wish the music was a bit more diverse, as its mostly the same genre and the same songs week after week..... but hey, its no cover, and a great crowd. Totally worth it.

After only coming here a few times, I realised I should have been going alot more frequently - cheap drinks, great music, and the chillest vibes in Hamilton! Scott and his staff work to curate an amazing space, and as a long standing establishment in Hamilton, I'm glad to see its continued success.

I used to frequent Ches for their burritos and deep fried mars bars. They had a vegan steak burrito I really enjoyed. They also have a decent dance floor and patio. The washroom is a nightmare.

Amazing place! Full of friendly people and great music. Definately more casual, nice combination of bar and club!

I have nothing bad to say about Che, every time I've been is a great time and the staff and burritos have always been awesome. Would strongly recommend.
Mehareen Monzoor
Low key bar in Hess that is the most live on Fridays and Saturdays with top 40 music

Order a drink called "The Dunn", dance to the strokes, and have the best time.

I visited Che Burrito & Lounge for a friend’s birthday this past Friday.

The DJ was friendly, and the vibe seemed decent for the type of crowd there.

I was the DD, and decided to have a beer early on in the night, since the patio was open and the weather was great. For starters, the beer selection was less than underwhelming, not a good selection in site. It looked as if they picked all the bottom barrel beers at the LCBO and hiked their price up by $5 a can (yikes) – I’ve paid less for the more lucratively branded beers. They had OE which was hilariously highschool, but I guess with a clientele of 17-20 year olds (yes, you read right, 17, a whole lot of youngin’s bragging about getting into a bar underaged). Anyway – I opted for a Lowenbrau, walked back out to the patio and sat down with my friends. I maybe had 2 sips from it, before being asked to be in a photo with my friends – still near by the table, only for the bus person to take my full beer, along with some empties off the table. I tried to chase them to the bar, but the dance floor was packed and it was already being emptied down the sink. I let the bartender know, and her response was basically “Tough shit, you can buy another one? Maybe you shouldn’t take photos with your friends!” Which was just extremely rude.

I left right away, and let everyone I know about my experience. Rude staff. Underaged drinking. 11/10 will never return or suggest this venue to anyone I know.

Che Hotdogs and lounge?. Worst service ever waitress looked like she had been partying for 2 days straight to start no more burritos. Just hotdogs here lol oh and tater tots food is good but its a hotdog you cant screw up a hotdog. Bathrooms are disgusting. better service ,bathrooms and hotdogs at a 7-11.

User reviews. Food was a tad overcooked but still tasted amazing i would definitely eat there again. serving sizes are huge for the price. If you eat there you will leave saying that hit the spot.

Burritos gone bad. Hey, I just saw some of these reviews about how things have changed @Che.
They did have the best burritos in town and after shutting down for awhile last winter nothing was the same. I heard that there was a new chef or kitchen people. Rumour also has it that the previous chef moved to a restaurant on James North @ Murray.
Che's facebook page says they have a new chef now.

The burritos were fantastic, the drinks were well priced and our server by the name of Eli was prompt and very friendly. I will definitely come back and I encourage people to eat here.

New Menu Stinks!. We've been going to Che for years and have loved it. Tonight we were exceptionally disappointed to learn that there was a new menu. The new menu only had roughly three items on it. The "make your own" burritos were subpar. The old menu offered multiple topping options that are now non-existant. There is no lettuce, tomatoes, olives, etc. The only vegetarian option is sweet potato
We were very disapointed that one of our favourite burrito places is not living up to it's previous expectations.

Good Burrito, Terrible Service. I got a build your own burrito for dinner that arrived quickly, tasted great and was full of a generous serving of fresh ingredients. Unfortunately the bartender/server wasn't the best and it really detracted from everything. She served friends of her's ahead of other customers at the bar, was slow with everything, unknowledgeable about the menu and quite unpersonable. Also, the beverages were served in disposable plastic cups. Weird. Un-environmentally friendly. Wasteful. Lazy. No compelling reasons to return.

Loved the nachos and the cool homemade tortillas ( tasted like doritos!). The tortillas came with house recipe hot sauces in what looked like old ketchup/ mustard bottles you find at a hotdog stand. Super innovative and the green jalapinio was tasty! There was one waitress for the entire place/bar but was so friendly! The bar only had beer type beverages, but that somehow just made you feel like it was you small city pub. The inside was cool, and we were told the bar top was made from salvaged items with a resin over top ... Hand crafted by the owner. Loved the atmosphere, food and waitress. I will be back!

Bad service ....Good food. I order 3 burritos from che on a saturday at lunch. The lady said to come in 20 to 30 mins and it turned out that i was late another 15 min making 45 min. I get there and nothing is ready and there is not a soul in the place, I wait there another 20 min and finally got our food. The burritos were good but the service will keep me away.

The halibut I ordered had fresh ingredients but it wasn't even warm and something was off but I couldn't place it. It wasn't unedible but it did not leave a good impression. My friends' order was also under warm, the ingredients were not distributed evenly, it was wrapped poorly and it was open on both ends. At least the server was nice and cute to boot.

The pulled pork was good and the fish was cooked well but there were just too many toppings and although the flavours some what played well together they didn't quite make my mouth sing. But for $4.50 each - they would make a killer lunch. Each taco was massive - like huge, they could definitely crush any food truck taco out there, and they don't get stingy with the toppings. An excellent bang for your buck.
