Review O'neko - Hamilton

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Perfect Hotpot, it creates so many unique feelings and tastes.

The order was prepared and delivered quickly. The food, however, left so much to be desired. Poor tasting and undercooked gluey meat. It all smells and looks the same, brown and salty and gluey. The tea eggs are green and crumbly. The soup base looks and taste like hot Dish water. Be warned friends.

This was my first Hot Pot experience and it was fantastic! Our server was hilarious, he made the dinner that much more enjoyable and was extremely welcoming and helpful when my friends and I told him this was our first time having Hot Pot. The food was delicious - next time will have to try the Ramen they serve. All in all, I was susprised that we were the only patron in the restaurant as this should be packed nightly!

Absolutely inedible. Ordered ramen dishes and beef dish tonight and meat was poorly prepared and broth was like dishwater. Eggs dry and crumbly. Very unappetizing. Disposed of meal after sampling it. Would not recommend.

Had a excellent experience in this spot with my friends. The food arrives rapidly and the customer service is just fantastic. Prices are convenient.

We booked O'Neko Hotpot & Ramen, our go to family restaurant. Food and service was excellent. Highly recommend all dishes.

Came across this spot randomly and was pleased with the decision to give it a shot. Place was clean and the staff were friendly. The decor inside is something to wrap your head around - very interesting! The dishes were fairly priced, we ordered the spicy miso ramen. My only criticism was the ramen bowls took about 40 minutes to arrive with only 4 tables seated at the place. There was a flurry of activity in the kitchen the whole time but we couldn't figure out why two bowls of ramen took 40 mins! Regardless the ambiance and decor kept us interested for some of that time, and the ramen was delicious. I will come back when I have the time.

This is the best hotpot that I ever tried. Their base soup is so special and the meat and veg are always fresh. We go there once a month in the winter at least. Highly recommended.

The ramen here is the best that we’ve had in Hamilton so far, and prices are very reasonable.

It is cash only, but there is a low cost ATM at the entrance.

The decor is hilarious. A constant rotation of cat related art.

Bad food, bad service. We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We ordered two bowls of ramen, which did not come with the seasoned egg or bean sprouts as advertised. when we asked about this, the waitress said they were "out" and had gone ahead and substituted a cuttlefish ball and bits of lettuce. To us, this did not seem like something that should be sprung upon you without asking ahead of time. We would not have ordered it--the lettuce was soggy and the cuttle fish ball was not good. The food that did come was not very hot, nor flavorful. Not much different from freeze dried ramen from a packet. The service was also incredibly slow. We will NOT go back again.

Not Authentic. If you are looking for typical Japanese ramen, this is not the place! It's a Chinese Ramen & hot pot place! Not JAPANESE!
The ramen is not bad but no comparison to the authentic Japanese ramen!

Did you hear Hamilton has a Ramen and Hot Pot joint? What?! What are we, cultured now? This is mind blowing! Too bad I can't say the same for the food. Ouch. Really? Did I just go there so soon in the post? Yep . Just kidding, it wasn't awful - or else you wouldn't be reading about it here. But you know I'll be honest and tell you what I did not like about the place. The Sok sisters and I headed to O'Neko a few months ago when I was really in the mood for something warm to hit the spot. Mind you, these are all first impressions and I'll definitely be back a second time just to see if my impressions are justified. Lets just get this part out of the way - don't even bother with the ramen. If you've ever had ramen before, you will be immensely dissapointed. This stuff tasted worse than the kind you get in prepackaged bags at T&T. Okay, okay that was a little harsh, but the broth definitely came from powder. Which is unfortunate because I would absolutely salivate at a decent ramen
