Food was great and very tasty. Had a variety from the all you can eat option and liked all but one. A bit pricey for what it is but excellent and fast service. We sat outside which does not seem to be too popular although weather was great and the atmosphere very cosy. Dessert was yummy!

One of the more decent sushi options in the area. Interesting interior design, good service, AYCE price within reason. And, of course, good sushi!
Some of the folks may not hold the shape, but that doesn't detract from their taste. Deep fried calamari and scallops we're fantastic too.

AYCE but still very high quality sushi. Tempura could be a bit crispier but excellent experience overall. Dinner selection was extensive as well as dessert. I was happy with the service also. Server spoke Mandarin and English.

I've been to several sushi dinners and this is by far the best... The waitresses are very kind and polite. The atmosphere is simply amazing, and the music is great. You don't even feel like you're waiting for too long because the visuals inside keep you busy even if you go alone.

The food tastes amazing and there's a wide variety. Ordering from tablet computers is very simple and convenient. The decor is absolutely amazing! Bring a friend or more and enjoy your experience here even if you don't order the sushi or seafood.

Food quality today is surprisingly high, maybe they had changed a chef in recent months. I tried its sushi, tempera, red dragon roll and beef teriyaki, all tasted amazingly fresh and enjoyable. One disappointing thing is the hot and spicy soup, which is overly salty. Other than that, all is very good. I will definitely come back if they keep this standard.

It's a great little Sushi place! The orders are quick to show up, the staff are friendly and quick, and the food tastes good. I have always found the rolls and the sashimi to taste fresh. Also the bacon-wrapped tomato was a delightful surprise to try!

Went for lunch, I liked the food. The lunch price was on par with other local sushi restaurants. The sushi was okay, the non sushi items were better. My favourite dish were the beef short ribs which were marinated very nicely. Service was good that day too.

I have visited Hotaru Sushi a couple times, and have enjoyed both visits. Nice atmosphere, attentive staff and never too busy. My husband and I do not eat meat/fish and there was a good selection of items to choose from, and everything tasted fresh! Hotaru also provided us with a discount on our bill (for only ordering vegetable dishes), which was a great addition to a good meal! I would recommend Hotaru Sushi :)

I know of 5 sushi places in Hamilton... They are relatively similar except for Joya sushi, which is better and more expensive than the rest... But despite of having good food, Hotaru ranks behind the other places in my mind... You may feel otherwise.

Fast service because there are often not many people at one time. Bever had a peoblem with the food. Used to be the cheapest sushi around west hamilton and they recently matched August 8 all you can eat prices.

Staff were rude, and it took almost an hour for our food to arrive even though the restaurant had only 5-6 other customers at that moment. The sushi was not worth the waiting and poor treatment! A block of rice, covered with a thin slice of fish!

This is a ok sushi place near west Hamilton. They serve food fast and hot. The service are very good. But the quality of sushi and salmon is just ok. I am willing to go there again, for it is close to campus and provide a reasonable price for all you can eat sushi. But you can find other better place on mountain.

I came here tonight with my family and everything was delicious. The servers were very polite and the service was very good, everything came quickly and was hot. They also were very accommodating when it came to a food allergy we had in our group. We were very happy that we decided to come here and will definitely be returning.

We wouldn't consider ourselves AYCE Sushi aficionados but, well, you know...<br/><br/>So... hear us now and believe us later: Hotaru Sushi in the West(est) End is, hands down, the best AYCES place in Hamilton. <br/><br/>Snow crab legs and lobster for a price that is typical of most AYCE places without these crustaceans on their menus? Oh snap, indeed...<br/><br/>And the service? Outstanding, truly.<br/><br/>You gotta get down to Hotaru... 'nuff said.

Best sushi in hamilton. Hotaru has become our favourite place for excellent quality sushi. Service is very good and super friendly staff. Lunch price is very reasonable.

These reviews are bought?. The quality of food and service has not changed from kasa. Please trust me. I came here in faith that it might have and because I had a discount but it wasn't very good. The service was nice even if not very good. Came here on a weekday maybe there is better staffing on weekends?

Best sushi resturant. The staff are very friendly and actually talk to you when they come to your table (ex. tell you want dish it is). the food is really good as well. probably has the best sushi out of all of the sushi resturants i've been to.

WAY better than kasa. The last time i came here was when it was kasa and its 100% a huge improvement. Still looks the same though lol. (But a little more cheaper looking?) Went with my friends and we all had a great time. I was really impressed with the service (Thanks christ!). The waiters are always checking if your drink is full and that youre doing ok. All the food was so good too. I'm a really big sushi person and the sushi here is so great and presented in such a beautiful way. LOVE the boats. Very memorable! I dont usually write reviews but it was such a great experience that i had to write something. My friends and i will coming back very soon.

Vegan menu.. We always take out order at hotaru restaurant.<br/>One of the staff very carefully tell me about (whats in it and what made for etc,.) and we really enjoy every time.

Horrible Knowledge of Own Products. Yesterday my boyfriend and I were planning to go here. I am vegan and also gluten-intolerant. I called ahead to verify if there were menu options that would be safe for me to eat. I was told very certainly that there were vegan options and they would be safe for my allergies. <br/><br/>We travelled all the way over to Hotaru (it was in no way nearby). Upon arrival the staff was very ill-informed about allergy concerns. Upon asking the chef there were in fact NO options at all for someone who's vegan (or with related allergy concerns). There was a total lack of knowledge displayed why both the staff who answered my phone call and those we dealt with in person. If you have any sort of dietary or allergy concerns I would definitely suggest you look elsewhere. Even if someone tells you the food will be safe when you check, they clearly do not know what their menu contains.

Best New Sushi place in hamilton. Came once and will definitely will come again. All the sushi/sashimi are fresh and taste amazing, and kitchen food is the best, my fav is the love shrimp! will definitely recommend to all my friends! :)
