Review Ya Man! Caribbean Cuisine - Hamilton

Very nice place, Chef is amazing and you feel at your mom's kitchen. we had jerk chicken and curried chicken roti and we liked them and they felt healthy and not oily. The jerk sauce was heaven! Just a point that we went there on remembrance day around 7 pm and they were out of salad and beef, a little turn off. All of all, I would suggest this place for a taste of cozy Caribbean cuisine.

The place is clean and pleasant. I did not expect it to have such a setup for downtown Hamilton. I went there with two of my friends, i ordered an oxtail with rice and they ordered fish. The portions where more than filling and the food was freshly cooked but fairly basic (i.e. rice topped with some salsa and no sides in the dish or anything like that). The dessert was not to go for though (some greasy coconut cake). Would I come again? may be to try to the roti as I tried rice this time.

Visited Hamilton from Toronto to visit my cousin who introduced me to this place. The food portion was a great size. I ordered Jerk Chicken, rice and peas and doubles with chick peas. was delish. The staff was honest and nice -- great service. And last but not least the bathrooms were sooooo CLEAN!. I've been to many small restaurant basement bathrooms and even though the dining area is clean, the bathrooms are grungy, graffiti filled and smell horrible. This one was clean, well decorated and pleasant. TWO THUMBS UP and FIVE STARS!

I've enjoyed Caribbean all over Hamilton and have looked forward to trying this place for some time. Ordered the oxtail...It was terrible. The small amount of flavour was not pleasant, the rice was overcooked and there were hardly any kidneys beans. I hope the other dishes are better but I will never know as I would never order from here again.

I usually don't post reviews but after my visit to the "Ya Man" in BURLINGTON on Brant street, I have no choice! Starts off, I walk to the door at 3:30pm on a Wednesday. Sign on the door saying "Back in 5 min!" That should have been my first warning sign to go somewhere else. But being of Caribbean decent and new to Burlington I really wanted to try it out, instead of driving all the way to Hamilton or Sauga for some cooked food. I waited out front for 10 min, then the door was opened. I ordered 2 jerk chicken dinners and a curry chicken dinner for my son. OMG! The Jerk was HORRIBLE! Left overs and im pretty sure it was microwaved. It was Grey and seemed stale and boiled instead of open flame grilled, NOT SPICY at all. The rice and peas were not even close to good. The coleslaw was very weird with no flavor! How do you mess up a coleslaw?? The Curry Chicken was also left overs and microwaved, my son only ate 2 bites and I had to go to another restaurant after to get us something decent. NEVER AGAIN and to top it all off it cost $30 for everything. I hope they read this and make MAJOR CHANGES or this business will be gone in a couple months. Now have to go, been on the toilet for 3 hours. Again this is the Burlington location not Hamilton. I will NOT be returning!

I ordered the large roti, rice and peas and daily special. The goat roti should have been called potato roti. Most of what was in it was potatoe. The rice was hard and tasteless. The soup was okay but lacking in meat. I thought I didn't get my money's worth. I contacted the restaurant immediately and they never contacted me. If you are looking for value for your money, good food...then this is not the place to dine at. Very disappointing when a business doesn't give value for money.

We had Ya-Man cater my event recently and the food did not disappoint! The curried chicken was absolutely delicious and the pepper shrimp was a huge hit. Would definitely recommend!

THE WORST WEST INDIAN FOOD IVE EVER HAD! Disgusting. She charges way to much for the amount of food she gives you! STINGY! Tasteless! Go to Toronto for real Caribbean food! Don't waste your money! -10
