We were passing by and found this absolutely insane (!!!) place. From the amazing retro-punk atmosphere to the friendly and hearty service and the tasty food, everything was wonderful. Vegan or not, you should definitely check this place out. Heck we'll probably make a detour on our trip just to come back.

My daughter wanted to eat vegan, so we gave the place a try, great choice! I had a vegan cheese quesadilla with Pico and vegan sour cream. It was yummy 😋 My daughter had the loaded vegan beef nachos, she loved it along with her blue juice smoothie. We took cupcakes for later.

Great vegan good, the BEST chocolate shakes I've ever had. Staff is amazing, friendly. Awesome vibes with cartyons ponated on the walls, worling video game machines as tables. Love their social media posts. And LOVE that it's an inclusive, LGBT+ space

The Hearty Hooligan has truly exceptional vegan options, with a glowing and friendly staff! The owner is an absolute delight, and is genuinely gifted with creating the ultimate vegan "junk food"! I had the pepperoni & cheese pizza pocket/bun today and it was far superior to the non-vegan original! I couldn't have asked for better. I also tried a cookie sandwich which was perfectly rich and delicious! I can't wait to return and try even more! The philly cheesesteak bun looked especially intriguing! I can't recommend this place more! A+++! <3

I have tried:
Pepperoni and cheese pizza bun = amazing. Tastes and smells just like those nostalgic pizza pops I used to enjoy but bigger, stuffed full and the dough is really fresh tasting.
Philly cheese steak pizza bun = cheesy, spicy and super delicious. Really enjoy their faux meat.
Chocolate chip cookie sandwich = the bomb.
Salted caramel McKain cake = the bomb.
And I liked their lemonade, not too sweet.
Can't wait to work my through the rest of the menu. The price is also very reasonable in my opinion in comparison to other vegan places in the area, and will definitely influence how often I visit.
I appreciate that their location has some parking.
Only words of improvement that I have, are to have more product available for the dinner crowd. Went in there around 5:00 pm on a Friday and the dessert supply was really low with an okay pizza bun selection.

Edit two months later: I've now become a regular customer. Everything is amazing and Staicha and David and Paige are so lovely - they treat me like family and put up with my requests and constant raving about their food! The mac and cheese bun is still my favourite savoury item. The chocolate chip cookie sandwiches and sandwich pies are to die for, and the Punkaroos are a new staple in my diet! Thank you for everything! You are the best. ���

This place is awesome and the owner is pure sunshine! We're very happy to have them closer and the new place is so great! If you have a sweet tooth you gotta go. We went for dessert yesterday and she made us special off-the-menu lattes (seriously!) and we took a double chocolate cookie sandwich and a gigantic piece of chocolate peanut butter cake with chocolate ganache to go. Absolutely delicious - cake was something special for sure! Between the food and the service, I don't see how you could leave this place without a huge smile on your face. Will be back soon to try BLTs and mac and cheese!!

Wow. Gluten free cupcake has never tasted so *not* gluten free! The rosy frosting was extra special with some mouth watering swirl in there - so much more than sugar. Of course the pizza buns are all amazing. Will be coming to try every variety. l already know the gf pizza slice is delicious as well :~))

Will continue to drive from Cambridge to Steel City if only to enjoy the food here. my husband ate 3 pizza pockets. he's a monster, but they're actually that good! kid friendly too which is great for those of us raising 2nd gen mini vegans���

This is a jewel on the Hamilton Vegan Food Front. I had a Cornish Pastrie and iced tea today--incredible. Just walking into their location and your greeted by not only a super friendly staff but the scents of various items being prepped. Your mouth will be watering as soon as you enter. Make this a stop the next home your looking gorgeous that quick pickup lunch. Thanks for the incredible lunch Hooligans !!!!
