Review Wimpy's Diner - Hamilton

Brought friends from out of town to visit and we all enjoyed our meals. Amazing milkshakes and great ambience. Staff took a while to return to tables and do simple things like bring the table ketchup but they were friendly and did an overall good job. We ordered some food for takeout which was still good the next day. Can't wait to go back! Definately recommended!

Was driving home and noticed the 24 hr sign on the Wimpys , figured we would stop in for a bite to eat the staff was quite friendly and welcoming for it being New Year's day and they had to work. The atmosphere of the diner was that of being a kid and waiting on a porch or in the kitchen area of the house, very welcoming and relaxing . The food was great , very nice homemade taste like it just came off of the stove in your own house when we were kids , loved that home again feel the place has and the food is awesome .

You want a meal that's amazing and gonna fill you right up without paying and arm and leg this is your place. The strawberry French toast is highly recommended. And all you can eat fish and chips on Tuesday and Friday for only $11!! I promise you won't be disappointed. From a super satisfied customer. Mmmm.... 😁😍 so good.

Always a good breakfast. No complaints here!!! Tea service is never good, though; Tiny little pots and the water is usually not hot enough. Madison is a great waitress!

Love this place excellent staff very nice and friendly good portion sizes and the food is absolutely delicious 😋

RAW BATTER- ugh, I ordered my meal for pickup via skip the dishes for 5 and was so happy to get it. Along with my pancakes and bacon I decided to order a dessert. It has only been my second time ordering here and my first was pretty good. Anyways I ordered the cinnabites and when I first looked at the order I thought I may have got the wrong thing as it looked cheesy... So anyways I took a bite and it did not taste like cheese upon careful inspection I realized that it just had not been cooked properly and I was eating raw batter.. thats not okay. i began to turn them all and realized that only half of them were cooked all the way on each side. please fix this

The food was really good and the prices are fair. Service was good and the staff was very friendly, greeting you as you enter and saying goodbye when you leave. Ate there for breakfast and was not disappointed. I would definitely go back to eat there again.

The decor is cool but the restaurant is old and showing many signs of wear. Most seats are ripped. NO AIR CONDITIONING. We ended up just asking for our coffees to go before even placing a good order because it was so hot and stuffy. No wonder we were the only people there besides the one server. Wish I'd got to try the breakfast because the pictures from other reviewers looked good. Server was very nice and the restaurant does have ample parking. There are signs that they are moving to a new location at the end of September 2021. I would try to visit again after the move.

Ordered Wimpy's today through SkipTheDishes earlier today. Delivery came faster than estimated which was a bonus! Wimpy's opens late enough to have breakfast for dinner.<br/><br/>Our order was 2 "The Classics", which consists of 3 eggs, 4 meat (choice of sausage, bacon, ham or peameal bacon), 4 pieces toast / 2 bread (white, brown or rye) and Home Fries as well as 3 Golden Pancakes. All of our orders came in right.<br/><br/>I ordered Scrambled Eggs with Sausages, home fries and Brown Toast. Nothing special about the meal. I'm not a fan of their home fries - I like the crispy ones better, heehee. Nothing special about the Golden Pancakes too. Overall it was a good average meal. <br/><br/>For the price on Skip, Wimpy's gives one more extra meat or egg which is great as compared to some other breakfast places who only give 2 eggs or 3 meat for their classic breakfast option. Wimpy's also provided us with condiments - maple syrup for pancakes, ketchup packets, jam as well as utensils and tissues without asking. I love the service provided. You'll be surprised how many deliveries I've put in instructions or requested for an item but my order came in completely WRONG.<br/><br/>Sorry, no photos this time!! Hope to dine in Wimpy's one day and try out more of their items.

Hamilton Ont 405 Main St W<br/>I order a burger meal at 12:30 at 2:04am no show they just said sorry should be there any minute, I ask will it be cold they said I don't know. I told them they could keep it. Who is higher then the manger of the branch I want to complain to someone that matters not just a pen pushing manger?

I had lunch today at Wimpy's Diner. It's the first time I've eaten at this chain.  It's fun and colourful inside.<br/><br/>I ordered Wimpy's Famous Burger and a Diet Coke. The burger was okay and had a processed patty. The bun was soft ... the bottom part could have been a bit thicker as it didn't really support such a larger patty.

Meh..... May 18th visit. Had the Flashback Combo, my scrambled eggs which was supposed to be 3 large eggs were maybe 2 medium eggs and tasteless, home fries had no seasoning, pemeal bacon, sausage and bacon were alright. The waitress was more interested in socializing with other staff than serving customers. Won't be back. For what I paid could of had the buffet at Golden Griddle.

Very dirty kitchen and inattentive wait staff.. My family and I recent visited the Wimpys at 405 Main St. W. My 8-year old daughter ordered pancakes, and I ordered (among other things) onion rings. I had to ask the waitress to bring my onion rings after all of the food had been delivered. All during dinner, my daughter kept saying that she wasn't hungry. A the end of the meal, she told me that her pancakes tasted like onion rings. I like Wimpy's in general, but stay away from this location; it sucks!

Horrible!. To start I could here the waitress complaint about a "large" order! Then waited 10 mins for a cup of tea that was like warm! My omelette had canned mushrooms and was tasteless. Fries under cooked and sauce oily! Yuck! The food was hardly warm when it came out! Had to get up and asking for everything we needed ie: hot sauce to add some flavour, and then the bill. I will not be going back anytime soon! And I for recommend you waste your money!

Restaurant was hot in back room, and a bit smelly near kitchen. food is mediocre, but priced fairly well.

Worst burger ever. $8.50 for a preformed, frozen burger, full of fillers, that was slapped frozen on the grill and overcooked until dry and hard. No cheese, bacon etc, only a slice of pickle, tomato and lettuce with some foul sauce dumped over everything.<br/>I've never had a burger this bad, not even at MacD's.

Delivery from Wimpy's. I ordered fish and chips from the Wimpy's (405 Main Street West) and it took exactly 50 minutes for it to arrive. It was clear he had other orders when he delivered this to me as he pulled out another food order from his bag to retrieve mine. My food was luke warm, and no tartar sauce! I called to complain that there was no tartar sauce whereupon the waitress apologized and said she can have someone deliver tartar sauce to me. I declined as it'll probably take another 50 minutes for me to receive the tartar sauce and by then, my food will definitely be cold. The fries had no taste to it, hence why they throw in salt and pepper packets. The fish wasn't bad, but would've tasted much better if it was warmer and had tartar sauce.

Potatoes were NOT fresh. Some bits tasted like air. Other bits tasted like the plastic bin they had been stored in for what I can only guess was days. Other parts were just going rancid. The potatoes take up half of the plate!! And to boot, the waitress could be heard complaining to the cook about the gross food he was sending out. Avoid like the plague.

Terrible food, clearly over preprepped and have fastly whipped together, service is good but I'd love to see their back fridge and kitchen set up because based on the food quality I'm sure they're half fasting food safety and health requirements as well, I'll never eat here again

Although I do not work here anymore I still love Wimpy's and do not agree with anyone saying the food is not fresh! yes some items are frozen..IT IS A DINER! so anyone claiming otherwise needs to change their tune!

If someone get fired from the work place absolutly she will complain.I go to wimpys on main at least five times a week, they are the best place in the city. They had some really rude servers who are not there anymore it makes the place evenbetter.

Our favourite. We go there at least once a week. The manager, Tiana gets worried if we don't show up at least a month. We always get the Twist combo.

This is our go-to for late night food cravings. Very reasonable and decent food as long as you stick with diner type foods. The best onion rings in this town, excellent milkshakes and burgers. Their dipping roast beef sandwich is very tasty and comes piled high with thinly sliced beef and a soup bowl of jus. <br/>The only time I have ever been disappointed was when I ordered the carrot-ginger soup. It was lumpy with undercooked carrots and incredibly over spiced with fresh ginger. On the same visit I decided to have their homemade macaroni and cheese. A huge peace of greasy, tasteless piece of macaroni, baked and covered in cheese instead of cheese sauce. Very unappealling and I didn't want either the soup, or the pasta. The waitress politely inquired why I had not eaten and apologized profusely when I explained. I was offered dessert on the house which I declined, and was not charged for my meal. Very professional, and we have been back many times since.

What an amazing spot! We went back when then opened in Dec 2011, and were not impressed, but man! They have fixed all the kinks! Fresh food, very friendly staff, huge portions and fantastic atmosphere...prices are comparable to competition but the value for uur dollar is out of this world! This has become our new favorite spot! And the only place to get a great meal 24/7!!!
