Review Bedrock Bistro - Hamilton

Food was fine, service was fantastic. It’s a family owned dinner. Portions were large. Must check them out if you are in the area.

Been visiting Bistro for years. Never a bad experience. I typically come for breakfast or a early lunch, but their dinner options have had me through their door in the evening a few times! Friendly staff, reasonable prices, great coffee and dishes for every appetite and budget.

I came here with my parents and other family members when I was kid. I had no complaints on the food I ordered over the years. My favourite food and beverage was Lasuagna with Garlic Bread and Earl Grey Hot Tea. It was delicious. The dessert I enjoyed ordering after my meal was Cherry Cheese Cake with real cherries. It taste very good. When we came in, the hostess asked how many in our party. Then she takes us to our table and hand us the menus. She would say our waitress will be with us soon. They do have a Kid's Menu. All the waitresses, that served us did a excellent job. They do have Wheelchair Accessibles Seats. We always paid cash and also tipped the waitresses. They do except Credit and Debit Card. I used their washroom and they do their best to keep it cleaned. They do have Wheelchair Accessible Washrooms. They do have free parking lot, that you can park at the front and back of the restaurant. They do have Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lots.

I love Bedrock Bistro!!! Whenever I order the food is made perfectly, portions are always generous, and the price is amazing for what you get. It's kind of funny even as a kid I came here when it was called "Smitty's" and the food was delicious back then too. I've had breakfast at other places in the city but I always come back to this one. If you haven't had it I really suggest you try it!!!

This was my local diner I enjoyed for almost a year but last week's order has made me feel I need to leave a negative review. Ordered 2 breakfast quesadillas and my partner's one had a hair in it (pictured below). I thought mine was fine till the next day when I went to eat my leftovers and there was a 1/4" wide white twist tie in mine.. I sadly forgot to photograph that one.. Needless to say I'm NEVER ordering from here again and will ALWAYS suggest no one go here...

Used to be good. Now it’s an overcooked, greasy experience, and just poor quality food in general. For example; slices of ham that were made from scraps of meat with little bits of bone in it and inedible. The restaurant was filthy, and everything down to the salt shakers were coated in a greasy film. We were quite disappointed with our Mother’s Day visit. We won’t be back. It’s a shame to see what’s happened to this place which used to be good. I get that things are hard after a pandemic when it’s hard to find good people, but then it gets to a point where you go out for breakfast and just feel like you are getting taken for your money. No excuse for that.

We have come here quite a bit in the past. We were visiting family in the city so we thought we would stop by. Getting seated took a bit as one of the girls were cleaning tables but she could've sat us down or told us where to go as it wasn't busy. Our server was on her own so no problem with her. I believe her name was Kayla . But our food was a bit bland. I ordered the steak and pasta. Which I've never heard of such a combo before but being pregnant and eating for two I thought I'd try. The steak was cooked to my liking however the pasta tasted like a frozen dinner pasta. No spices no taste. My husband ordered the two pieces of fish and chips. Huge portio but the tartar sauce was a bit stingy for his portion size. The floor where we sat was dirty full of crumbs. May not return if we visit Hamilton again. Super disappointing as it's always a treat to visit bedrock bistro

Spent Breakfast with the family down here on Saturday May 14, 2022 @ around 10:45am. Location was fairly busy but we received our table almost immediately and service was quick. Really enjoyed the Fred's Feast breakfast, the potatoes were phenomenal, and will be looking forward to returning again in the future.

Took my kids here for dinner yesterday. I have been to Bedrock for brunch and seen it packed, but yesterday, just a few tables. However it still took our waitress a good 10 mins to come over. After eating, I was needing to get the kids desserts going (comes with their meals) so we could get going. We had now been there for 45 mins. I finally get the servers attention as she is standing in the kitchen door talking to the owner/manager about an interview he just had. She nods to me as saying she will be right there. But as she steps out of the kitchen she starts a new conversation with a gentleman that came in. I had to ask another server to get the kids ice cream. This server was nice and sweet and went to get them. Our server looked like she could not care if she had this job or not. She was not very presentable looking either. Our onion rings came half burnt, half cooked properly. Bedrock will always make it on their weekend brunches, but you could step it up the rest of the week and bring in some good profit/tips.

Can you imagine my disappointment when we went for breakfast, placed our orders and waited a fair amount of time for our food to have it come out and it was luke warm. When we complained our meals were taken back and we were told our meal would be replace. When my meal came back, it was not much warmer and when I removed the toast from the top (covering the eggs) I realized my meal was the exact one I sent back and they had just placed it in the Microwave oven and warmed it up. The over easy eggs were now borderline fried eggs. They were going to take my plate back but when I refused as the other people at my table were almost done, I wasn't going to be left waiting for another meal and then sit there and have all the other people watching and waiting for me to eat. The Manager was sent over and offered to make me a complete new meal free of charge...what good was this as I had refused the waitresses offer of this! No other offer was made to rectify this, maybe offer a coupon for a free meal at another time. I know they were busy and it was a busy weekend, however, this is not the service that I was used to from The Bedrock Bistro previous. I used to recommend this restaurant to everyone, well word of mouth goes a long way and I won't be returning!

Same experience as Jamie Lee, lipstick on my cup. Ordered well done bacon and half cooked. The toast was not cut in half making it somewhat awkward to eat. My mom's toast was not buttered. I ordered scrambled eggs. The have no idea how to make scrambled eggs. This was our third time at this restaurant and we are idiots for thinking it might have been a better experience this time around. 20 bucks (including taxes and tip) for 2 Classic Breakfasts with 2 teas. I did not eat my bacon or my eggs. My Mom did not eat her frozen and deep fried homefries that were covered with MSG/Seasoned salt or her underdone bacon. Service is fast. I cannot for the life me understand the popularity of this place when there are so many better places around. Save your money go elsewhere.

Had a great dinner yesterday with my kids our waitress was great..my girls loved her cause she had a butterfly hair tattoo on the back of her head...the only thing that I found a little annoying was a young girl that worked there was a little loud and obnoxious. .at one point she came out of the kitchen and one of the kitchen staff was rat tailings her with a towel extremely inappropriate with my kids there in a family restaurant

The customer service here is atrocious, your waitresses are loud and rude when a customer asks for a manager to report a roach in their food. even after showing the waitress the bug, she removed it and then got loud and threatening. Then she refused to remove the meal that was unfinished from the bill. food is salty as hell. I'll never step foot in this place again.

Disappointed with the stake hubby asked for medium rare they need to re-cook it also found a hair on his plate then the second stake was almost all fat and cartilage..... Then when we complain and ask to speak with the manager doesn't come out to speak with us, only offers a staff discount or free desert... so we chose the discount well that was a mistake because it was all of $3.00 off a 18.99 meal like what the hell. I do have to say at least our server was kind and polite, very apologetic. Honey find another employer you can be proud to work for, or suggest to management to handle complaints better.

This place is the BOMB! Great breakfast! Huge portions! Best hash browns in Hamilton (I could eat just a plate of those!)

Was here this morning with my girlfriend and the food/service was absolutely absurd. They served our breakfast cold. The fruit salad they served my girlfriend was brown and old (looks like it sat in the fridge without a lid for days)! They didn't even give us a discount for this disgrace. The poach eggs we ordered were drowning in egg water. The service sucked, the waitress not once came to our table to ask if everything was okay. Much more was wrong with our meals but point being is that we are super disappointed! We are not the type of people to complain, but this was absolutely disgusting. Never coming back , and we use to come all the time !!!!

Don't waste your time and money. Sad, but Bedrock Bistro has totally gone downhill. The food is terrible, and obviously pre-packaged. Horrible sloppiness in cleanliness, and service. There is no management or skills there apparently. Bedrock used to be a nice Family restaurant with good food and service, but not any more. I wouldn't go there, even if someone else was treating me. I wouldn't want to waste their money either.

Went there for the first time as my cousin booked their room for her dad's (my uncle's) 90th birthday. My cousin didn't realize that it was the Sunday of Thanksgiving but kept the date as is. While we got there around 6:15 we realized the kitchen was closing early for the holiday, but they kept it open and fed those of us that showed. Friendly service, and a decent home cooked style meal. I'd go back.

Eggs under cooked and no gf option for toast except tomatoes...would like to see GF bread added to menu

Went there today for Father's Day how to wait about 45 minutes for a table we only went there today for the Sunday buffet that you still advertise on your website and you have the link right on this Facebook page to it so why do you advertise it when you don't offer it I believe that's called false advertising I'm not happy and that was the only reason why we went there today for it and we sat down just to find out you don't offer it I showed the server that they still offered on your website but you know false advertising I think you need to update your website it's not that hard to do

My husband and I have been going the Bedrock for years. Normally the food and service are great. The past couple of times the service hasn't been the greatest. Yesterday in particular both mine and my husband's omelettes were missing ingredients, when we told the waitress she shrugged and said she put it in right and it must have been the kitchen. No offer for compensation or to remake them.

Since the fire, food quality has fallen, portions have shrunk & there is now a $1.00 surcharge for ordering from the Lunch menu after 3 p.m.

Horrible service! We sat down waited 15 minutes and still no one has asked us for our drink orders? Lost a costumer. I have been coming for years.

They have the best philly steak sandwich I've ever had. Great service and very clean.

Breakfast was fabulous. Everything was quick and hot. Great service as well.

I drive 20 minutes to have breakfest there. Have always had great service and great food. If I lived closer I would be there every morning for breakfest.

Fish n' chips, nothing good to say! Cooked in old oil, fries hard(frozen) & coleslaw was very dry. Never again!!! What a shame!

Geez, was called a liar by a waitress at the Bedrock Bistro this morning. When I got my bill I realized that I didn't receive my side of toast. Not a big deal, just wanted to bring it to the waitress attention. Wow, suddenly in a very aggressive tone she declared that she did indeed bring the toast, grabbed the bill out of my hand, and as she was walking away announced that she would pay for the toast I ate. What. On. Earth. Mentioned our service when we were paying. They didn't seem surprised. Just got a "oh, okay, sorry". Glenn (who is the least confrontational person I know) actually went so far as to say "we'll not be back". Again nothing other than an "oh". We thought we would give the restaurant another try today. Thought perhaps last time the waitress was having a bad day. She seemed like we were a bother. Nope, apparently it is common practice fot the waitresses to be off putting. We always try to support local business, nope, not going back.

Horrible staff and they don't care. Treated very poorly.

I'm so glad you're back in business but one thing I was disappointed on you no longer have the breakfast skillet , welcome back
