Review Lemon Grass - Hamilton

Always soo delicious! Love ordering a few items and sharing with the table so you can get a bit of everything. Great place for dine in or takeout as it travels well. All 3 dishes I posted pictures of are served with a side a rice to eat them with.

Wow what excellent and fresh flavours. I will totally return to clean and inviting establishment. Beautiful presentation on our feed and scrumptious food with great portions. ♥️🥇

As a Lao person who misses home cooked meals, I like to try all the Viet and Thai places in the area. We've been here once before and I didn't love it, but my bf insisted we come back since he likes the crispy duck. This time, they didn't have duck on the menu and we ordered curry pad Thai, pho and Thai style beef salad. Hear me out. Usually when they have beef salad on the menu at a Thai restaurant, they serve laap, which is beef, with a bunch of herbs (mint, cilantro, green onion), fresh chili with lemongrass, galanga, Lime leaf, etc, and you eat it with sticky rice. But it was literally a salad that you could buy at Fortinos with grilled beef. My bf and I looked at each other in disbelief when it was served to us. The pad Thai was mediocre but the pho was good. The place was so busy. We prob should have known it was catered to white ppl and was not at all authentic when we saw the crowd. So moral of the story, if you are looking for authentic Thai food, this is not the place. But if you are not very adventurous in your taste buds, this place seems to be the place to go.

Was surprised to see how full the place was at 1205 (they open 12)! By 1pm all tables were full which is always a good sign! I order the well-done beef and rare beef pho and it was okay was a little turned off by the not so fresh bean sprouts but otherwise it was okay. My friend ordered the shrimp fried rice which came with a hot and sour soup - this was the star of the meal in my opinion - and he enjoyed it.

The thing I would definitely recommend on the menu is Nasi Goreng. Perfectly cooked and delicious.

Went to Lemongrass with close friends to celebrate 2 birthdays. We hadn't been there since before COVID and we were excited to return. Our excitement wasn't unwarranted. Everything was delicious. Even the sound of sizzling food and the wonderful aroma was great as we walked in. It's nice to know that some things don't change. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Lemongrass is top notch Thai cuisine.

I have always really enjoyed this restaurant however since the pandemic it definitely has become a takeaway place. The servers are so busy with Doordash and customer pickup coming in and out of the restaurant they don’t have time nor do they seem to care about their dine in customers unfortunately pickup is through the restaurant that is small to begin with with all the orders piling up on the bar~ my Chardonnay warm I was going to ask for ice and a glass of water but I couldn’t get the servers attention and when you do it’s like you are bothering them. My crispy chicken one breast was good the other way too crispy I didn’t even bother to take it home. Similar experience the last few times I have been there I will not be back and will not order from there again.

Ordered 205 vegetable pad Thai and 212 vegetable cashew, both were disgusting,  the dish 205 tasted like noodles and ketchup with a mix of vegetables and the vegetable cashew just had a slightly different flavor of ketchup.  Actually use to like this place and was open to them making it up via a credit they previously issued, but today when we tried to use the credit they refused to honor it saying the person who issued it was no longer employed with them. They eventually said they could honor half of the credit ( without any rational) . The lady who called herself the supervisor then picks up an attitude over the phone and repeats "are we done here". Honestly the service is just as bad as the food maybe it's good we didn't give them a chance to make it up to us. Save yourself the trouble,  and order from any other Thai restaurant (even Thai express). Very poor poor customer service, it’s mind boggling businesses like this exist and survive .. so sad for you.

NEVER EAT HERE<br/><br/>Food was disgusting….the quality has gone down over the past year and the Pad Thai was the worst I have EVER eaten. Absolutely terrible customer service. Both the kitchen Manager and the restaurant Manager argued with me about either refunding my money for the Pad Thai or giving me something in exchange. I drove back to the restaurant for my refund and they refused. They did not stand behind the quality of their food and blamed it on being given the incorrect order. They treated me, as a loyal customer, so BAD. I am very disappointed and I will NEVER eat here again!!!

Today’s pick for dinner with my friends was at Lemon Grass. This has been one of our favorites in the past. Looks like the place was renovated but somehow it appeared congested. The waitstaff were extremely busy so it was expected that we didn’t get served right away. Their cashew chicken was always my favorite, but tonight I ordered the spicy Pad Thai which was a big mistake. It was bland, and the sauce tasted like tomato-based and not peanut-based. The noodles were overcooked and mushy. And no crushed peanuts!? So I asked for some crushed peanuts and I got it, but I didn’t expect to be billed .75 cents for it. So beware! I ate about a quarter of it and packaged the rest to take home for the trash. I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to Lemon Grass again.

I highly recommend this restaurant for its food. Totally delicious, plentiful, economical, and exotic. However, do not expect to be waited on hand and foot. The wait staff is borderline polite, certainly not jovial. They tend to thrust the plates and utensils at the diners, and at best they come by once during the meal with a curt "everything going alright here?". <br/><br/>Also, they renovated the inside a few years back and it's quite nice in a diner sort of way, however, the new crystal chandeliers haven't been cleaned since then... <br/><br/>Do go there to thoroughly enjoy the food and the very acceptable prices, but don't expect table linens or the royal treatment.<br/>October 10, 2017

My family has gone here multiple times over the years. The place has been nicely redone now for a few years and I suppose it gives you a decent (albeit watered down) versions of southeast asian cuisine. <br/><br/>If you're new to Thai food this might be a good place to bridge the gap and develop a taste for it. But, once you've had the real thing, it's kind of hard going back to this and not left feeling wanting more. All in all it's an ok place to bring someone who likes mild, westernized asian food. But don't expect do be blown away, and definitely skip the visit if you're craving Thai food after just returning from Thailand.

We went to this restaurant on Valentin's Day with a friend couple who admitted to like it. It was busy indeed but, since we arrived early (around 6:00 PM) we managed to get a table right away.<br/><br/>The place has a good ambiance and decor and it's family friendly. The service was diligent however, it appeared to be too overwhelmed for the amount of people that was there at that point.<br/><br/>My girlfriend and I ordered the "Appetizer Assortment Platter" to share, the "Thai Coconut Seafood Curry" for her and, the "Crispy Chicken w/Beef & Shrimp" for myself.<br/><br/>While waiting, we could smell other people's food when brought to their tables as some of the dishes are served sizzling hot. The smell was good and made us even hungrier but, we also left the place smelling like Thai food.<br/><br/>The appetizer platter has enough food to share between two and maybe four. It consists essentially of rolls, wontons and chips. It's hard to go wrong with any of those but, one thing I disliked was an overwhelming mint flavor (or sort of) in the mango salad or in one of the rolls as well.<br/><br/>I liked the way my dish was presented with the chicken on top of the stir-fried beef, shrimp and vegetables. The chicken was well-cooked inside and very crispy outside. The stir-fry wasn't very moist (it could've been more "saucy", I think) but, it was very flavorful. It comes with a side of ginger-soy sauce which helps to bind the chicken with the rest of the dish and also adds a little bit more moisture. <br/><br/>My girlfriend said that she liked her dish which, according to her, had a good taste and enough seafood in it.<br/><br/>Overall, the food tasted good and portions were generous but, we both agreed that it wasn't anything special. Good food for the price although you might find better.<br/><br/>PS: If you like lager beer, try the SINGHA Thai beer. It's very refreshing and easy to drink.

Fantastic, great food at a great price. Go with the Orange chicken, or happy family. Could eat that stuff all day! We mostly order takeout but have eaten there as well, always had good service.

Ms. VanRooy. The food as always was just amazing! I love the service! The food is always made to look so appetizing and we always eat every last bit. The atmosphere is great, I was disappointed however that Lemon Grass restaurant is not looking very clean anymore. Even the menu card looked greasy and dirty. I would highly recommend that the owner take a good look at this because the first thing you hand to me is a dirty menu card all worn out, and basically not very appetizing. I hope you will take this constructive criticism to heart and I will keep coming back. I worried last night that I could get sick from the dirt on the menu cards. <br/>You have an amazing place for people to eat and enjoy the great services as well, however avoid dirt and lack of care where it counts the most otherwise we loose our appetite.

My friend J dropped me a message on Facebook asking if I was up to painting. I said yes; it was the least I could do after leaving my car in his garage for 7 months! After painting the first layer of primer, we took a break to let it dry and went out for

Down hill. I'm not sure what happened. I loved their food. I had the pad Thai last night and it was horrid. The shrimps were the tiny cheep ones, the chicken was rubbery and the noodles had a stale taste. I'm disappointed. This was a great place.

Resist the temptation to try it!!. Oh my... is there anything else to add? the title says it all. Certainly not authentic Thai, not even close. Spicy dishes not spicy at all... NOT at all. The up side? Now I have a craving to make homemade Thai, cuz it will definitely be better!!
Sayhello012
It was ok.... I like the cozy interior and the intimate setting but things definitely felt overpriced for what I was getting... I guess you pay for the atmosphere.

Disappointing. If you want Thai food I do not suggest this restaurant. I ordered the Pad Thai which specified "spicy", so I thought they perhaps forgot the spices. I asked one of the servers and she was quite rude. My other guests felt the same way. They had a so called "spicy" dishes and they were not as they had stated. One of the dishes tasted like ketchup or sweet & sour sauce. Quite a disappointing experience.

Best lunch ever!!!!. I eat here all the time for lunch.<br/>The service is quick and friendly and you get a great deal of food for a very reasonable price. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs a great tasting lunch at a good price that will still fit into your busy work schedule!!!!!!

Gluten Free Options - Great Service. Lemongrass provides many gluten free options, which are readily marked on their regular menu. As I also have a problem with onions, the staff were pleased to be able to modify my selections.<br/>Everything is made to order, and very fresh. I am not usually a curry fan, but tried their coconut curry seafood dish, which instantly became a favourite! The shrimp wrap was excellent, and I enjoyed a mango drink also. Outstanding food, service, and prices!

Rude Servers. I will never come back. Rude servers, the food is not that bad tho, but it's not authentic at all. Viet/Thai food never tasted that way...I ordered Pho and Pad Thai.

Mediocre at best. I used to enjoy this restaurant but now I won't go back. The restaurant is too small and cramped. Everything tastes the same. Too bad, I used to enjoy this place.

Great Little Place. The food at this place is better than the garden variety thai/viet restaurant. The dishes I've really enjoyed have been: Pad Thai, Beef with Mixed Vegetables, Coconut Curry Shrimp, Peanut Chicken. Many of the dishes are luten free so if you are celiac or sensitive to gluten you can still have a good experience. <br/><br/>The portion size for lemon grass is quite good. 2 takeout dishes and rice are able to feed my family of 4 for a dinner which means we are dining for around 20$. The price for each dish varies from $8-$18 with the majority of dishing falling below $15.<br/><br/>I found the service to be a bit spotty sometimes especially when it gets really busy which is to be expected. Offers catering and quick take out option(takes about 20 mins).

Wonderful meal. I have cravings for many of the menu items at this restaurant. I absolutely love the coconut curry chicken.I have it with plain chicken (#50) and my husband hs it breaded (#101) The sauceis made with the perfect amount of spice. I always have chicken satay with peanut sauce which is very good. The best soup I have ever tasted is also at this place. Bangcock soup is fantastic with sweet and spicy flavours blending perfectly in your mouth. I will order it for my lunch the day after going to this place. If you do go there try to fit in a scoop of coconut ice cream with chunks of coconut when it is available. The perfect way to finish off a meal at lemongrass

Nothing special. My dinne.... Nothing special.<br/><br/>My dinner guest and I ordered two completely different meals yet they both looked and tasted the same. ( 100% same sauce ) <br/>This place WAS good now its crap.<br/>Ignorant server said we " had to go "<br/>They need our table....<br/>Never going back to this dump!

I've tried the pad thai twice from here, it was mediocre. I've had better pad thai from Jackson square. But today I tried the bami goreng after someone had suggested it on here. It was great. Came with grilled chicken on a skewer with some nasty sauce. 14$ and well worth it.

LOVE this place. I'm here all the time. Always very busy. Waiting area for a table is awful/nonexistent though. I agree with other reviews regarding the service. Friendly and warm service is definitely not their forte but have never had a rude server. Food is always fast to come out and has never disappointed. The peanut sauce is amazing! I've tried pretty much everything on the menu and it's all excellent. The food makes up for what's lacking in the service department. Have to chase someone down for my bill each time. A little annoying considering they're always lined up out the door and you think they'd want to turn tables over quickly. Regardless, always highly recommend.

NEVER GOING BACK THERE!!!!. RUDE RUDE RUDE SERVERS.<br/>WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!<br/><br/>The only tables that were available were right by the door, and we were freezing!!! Than, I ordered wine, however, it was awful because it was the last drop from the bottle and was probably sitting around open for a week. I asked for a new glass of wine from a fresh bottle and they told me "You have no right to decide which bottle of wine you drink from." Oh really?? And here I thought, I was a paying customer..... <br/><br/>The servers were abrupt, rude, difficult, unfriendly and also very unknowledgeable in terms of the menu options. I felt very uncomfortable and hated the overall atmosphere.<br/><br/>It was TERRIBLE dining experience.

This is a family favourite. Although it is small and you cannot make a reservation, the quaint atmosphere, fast service and great food makes up for the wait. I almost always get the seafood soup and it has never let me down!

Ain't Bad. This place has at least one dish I like to order (Bami Goreng). The pad thai and pho are not that good at all tho. The wait staff are snobs! The rediculous crowd of "Thai Food Newbies" that is always at the door when I try to get through to pick my order up is pretty annoying as well! If authentic Viet/Thai food is what you are after, try Ben Tanh instead. Like I said tho, I do like the Bami Goreng, and will get it from time to time.

Found this place while I was on the road for work. Looks great inside. I had the chicken pad thai and it was good, a bit on the sweet side but good. It comes as medium spice (but isn't that hot). I was the first person as soon as the opened at 11:30 and within 10 minutes they had 5 more customers.

Great Food and Service. We had the wonton soup, crispy spring rolls, Yellow Chicken Curry and Egg Noodle with beef. Both food and service were excellent. Atmosphere was welcoming. Servers were not too pushy, just right. Though we didn't stay for dessert, would imagine that they were just as amazing as the rest of the food. Highly recommend the yellow curry. We will definitely go back.

Amazing! Great food! Always fresh always hot def a local gem for a quick bite to eat Only draw back is the poor service. The staff is efficient but lack some hospitality skills.

This place us delish!!! I don't know why urbanspoon says they are no longer open? They were closed a bit for renovations and have been up and running for a while now!!!! I love the dish "happy family"

IT"S CLOSED DOWN in Feb 2012. We called on the weekend, no answer. When we went there, it was closed down. too bad, we loved it.

I really like the food although I am not a Thai food expert. This place is super busy and the staff do a good job serving as many people as the can.
Rebecca V.
Tasty but unauthentic. As it's been mentioned if you've never had thai food before this is tasty, even if you have, it's just not thai food. I agree that it's also not very healthy, high fat as most things are fried one way or the other.
Sam V
Fairly good food but service was no the best. Felt very rushed to order within minutes of us sitting down.
Lynda Harvey
As long as you've never had real thai food and aren't concerned about your lipid levels...You won't be disappointed by the food. Here spicy means salty. The thai fried rice was so soaked in oil it pooled on the plate. Upon tasting the tamarind chili and basil sauce I was transported back to my mother's version of exotic cuisine opening a can of chun king brand chow mein. To be fair the veges here were much fresher and crunchy than the canned chow mein. Even their name is odd since there's no lemon grass on the premises, or perhaps they just forgot to put any in my spicy lemon grass soup. I can say the steamed white rice was great.

Great Food but Not Great Service. This restaurant is still on my list, but I visit Little Saigon more often than this restaurant lately because their food is equal or better. As this restaurant is newer, they have less customers, therefore, I do not have to wait for my lunch. The beef soup is excellent, and their service is much better.
Rachel
The food is amazing, and every time I have been there the service has been impecable! I would strongly recomend this restaraunt to anyone.
Mandy
Food wasn't that great and the service was terrible
Mandee
Amazing food, delicious and healthy. One of the best restaurants I've been to ever! The service is horrible though, staff is unfriendly and only come to your table 2 times, once to take your order and once to drop your food off so if you need something be ready to get up to let them know!
Addi Pump
Great food but poor poor service. The staff is rude and act like your bugging them. I will order there take out but I wouldn't recommend a sit down meal

...Thai Mango Salad with Shrimp $8. A huge plate of julienned mango, red onions, bell peppers, cabbage, plump cold shrimp, mint leaves and crushed peanuts all in a spicy house vinaigrette with those big shrimp chips to garnish.
