Review Saint James Espresso Bar And Eatery - Hamilton

Awesome locally owned spot for a chill vibe and amazing espresso. Took my new wife along with mom for brunch on a Saturday. Always friendly service and quality food and coffee. The stacked feature was a peach yogurt on their delicious fluffy pancakes. Wife had the egg and bacon on a croissant with pickled red onions. Always a good visit or stop by. Great to see them doing well and don't mind waiting in line.

The food and the service was good. But something in my experience was off. I didn't feel comfortable. First about the menu on the wall, I didn't like it, maybe if they put a big board on the top was better to see it from anywhere. Second, options, I haven't seen anything that mixes salt and sweet, actually even pancakes is not on the menu, and I know they serve it. They served pancakes for a costumer and it was looking good. I really saw potential on the business, but I think they can do better to costumers experience.

I've heard positive reviews about this place from people I know in Hamilton. So why not give it a try since I was in town. I can say there are a lot of brunch spots in James Street, but this small cozy spot is worth a visit. There are limited seating, but lots of people are ordering items to go from my observation. We got The Malibu and featured short stack which was the banana & chocolate pancakes. Both are tasty items and would definitely come back for the burger

The food is delicious, service is quick and friendly, and I really like the interior design of the place! The place was quite busy with limited seating, so I would recommend to come early to get a table if you are visiting.

This place has a limited number of items on their menu to begin with and the day we went in, we had even lesser options to choose from because few items from the menu were not available for the day. The server will seat you at the table but you’ve to walk at the counter to place the order & pay for the food which is fine but we weren’t informed on the unavailable menu items when being seated. Unfortunately, we decided to grab the items that were unavailable and were informed at the counter about that however I would have very much appreciated this information when we were being seated or even a chalk-board with the information of items that are not available. Their fresh juices were not available either. We ordered alternate food & beverage items. I ordered the Omlette from their feature menu and confirmed if it had any meat; the server confirmed there was going to be no meat however it came with Ham on it so I was very disappointed. The portion size of their sandwiches are very small. Food tasted as basic as any breakfast place could and my hot chocolate was really weak and less chocolate-y.

Small spot with good food but you may have to wait to get in. Informal atmosphere with really nice coffee and a great breakfast sandwich. Seat mate had their short stack and he thoroughly enjoyed it too.

The most incredible breakfast I have ever had. I got the Gatsby and it was supreme! My daughter got the banana cream hotcakes. They melted in your mouth and were delicious:) Best experience with breakfast in a long time. The ambiance was incredible too!! Definitely recommend!! Staff were incredible.

Fantastic food menu here and a great atmosphere including street side patio dining. The coffee choices are abundant and quality is top notch. Stop here if you are in Hamilton. You will not regret it.

Was a very busy cafe on a Wednesday morning around 10am, but service was quick and friendly, and the food was amazing. Espresso was decent, but would have rather had it in a espresso cup instead of a juice glass. Earl Grey Latte was the best I've had in Hamilton, by far. Will definitely be back again!

Mother’s Day brunch was perfectly delicious and staff kindly seated my elderly Mum straight away!

The fact that they can make their delicious Avocado toast into a Celiac friendly gluten free, extremely delicious, meal, makes these guys a 10 out of 5 star. Always friendly and always amazing.

Went there with the wife and kids for brunch on a Sunday. Food was excellent, coffee the same. $$ was reasonable. It's a tiny place so getting a seat is tricky. Had people standing around us waiting for a table while we ate. Didn't bother me but I guess it could bug some people. I would return.

Wonderful lunch of Mushroom toast. Egg and goat cheese were a great combination. As usual the espresso was rich and flavourful. My partner had a massive falafel salad as well. she found the falafels to be wonderful non greasy. Highly recommended.

I ate there 4 times these past 2 days. Everything I ate was delicious, every flat white was excellent, and every time I left, I just wanted to go back and eat and drink more. The standard of excellence they have is amazing. Their shop vibe is great too, you know you're in good hands the moment you walk through the door. Seriously, this place is where it's at!

My goodness, food and service was AWESOME! they had a very yummy looking dessert which I didnt have this time but will next, I didnt take a photo but I will be back to eat and snap, the avacado sandwich was crazy great! the lady next to us said the coffee was great as well! cant wait to go back! this is one of my local happy places. they started with one dining table and a dream and now they are putting out the most elevated cafe food in the city daily. Chef Rocky and his partner, (i need to meet her she's the real MVP) are really doing something special. Coffee is great too. If u go at "peak brunch" expect a short 10 min wait. #mookeats - mookthegreek.

Our second time and the food was amazing. We had a lunch special chicken cutlet (Italian) style beautiful arugula salad and perfect match of warned olives. Great job guys!!
