Date night dinner at The Black Forest Inn. The first time for us and what a great experience. The atmosphere was fabulous. The servers were dressed in traditional clothes and decorations and music all fit the theme. Staff was very welcoming and service was great. Food was awesome. Soup was hot not lukewarm. Whole meal was great!!! Highly recommend the Black Forest Inn, we’ll certainly be back!!!

The Black Forest Inn hits all the top points with us. The food, the atmosphere, the staff and the overall experience is absolutely worth a five star review. Food portions are on point and at a reasonable price, the food itself is absolutely delicious and very authentic. The establishment is very clean and well managed. The staff are very courteous and responsive and a delight to deal with and also look absolutely fabulous in authentic German dirndl. Very satisfied with our visit and strongly recommend this restaurant to others.

First time ever having rouladen. We were there for a party of 6 and two kids. What a great meal! The house dressing on the salad was great and the goulash was delicious and really filling.
Our waitress was super and the atmosphere is really relaxed.
Was surprised how, at their low/reasonable prices, the portions were big and delicious.
Try all the beers - the dark and wheat are tasty - in pints instead of the pitchers. The price is better that way

The Black Forest Inn has been consistently excellent for many many years it's such a treat to enjoy the atmosphere and great food and their prices really didn't go up too much, unlike many restaurants because of covid-19 backlash and the cost of fuel driving produce and meats up in price. Bravo Black Forest!👏👌

We drove about 45 minutes to eat here. We always enjoy our meal here it's awesome!! This time was the best ever. Food was delicious, fresh and hot. Server was also fantastic. Could decide salad with blue cheese dressing or meatball soup so had both. Very yummy. Keep it up will be back soon.

We booked our Mother's Day family dinner at The Black Forest this year, and it was wonderful- great Vienna schnitzel, potatoes and salad with a delicious creamy house dressing! The service was very friendly and timely. Thanks for the great experience. We will definitely come back again.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Traditional German cusine and beer at affordable prices, great service and very very tasty. Lots of larger plates designed for sharing and also allow you to sample a variety of the food.
Will be back anytime I am in Hamilton. A bit of a wait during busy times but well worth it.

I've lived in Hamilton for nearly 25 years and have never been to this restaurant. My family and I have heard so many wonderful things and have been dying to check it out for ourselves.We decided to take my mom out for dinner last Wednesday and thought it would be a perfect time for her birthday. Since it's an older building, we were worried about wheelchair accessibility and called in advance. They were very kind and accommodating. They have 2 steps and 2 ramps that worked out perfectly. The entire staff was wonderful, very quick service and the food was to die for. I should also mention how beautiful the restaurant was. The artwork on the walls and the European clothing on the staff. Just lovely. I highly recommend my new favorite restaurant to anyone and everyone.

I have been eating at the Black Forest for over 30 years...since I was a child. Went again last night with my family of 8 people and for the first time in our history of eating here...we were disappointed! �. The new owners have changed the menu! The food is not nearly as good as it was. I've NEVER been unhappy with the food here before....it used to be a favourite where you knew you could get great food! Last night the schnitzel was thick, the soup was disappointing, and the bread served at the table was very stale!! On top of that they have a "no refill" policy on pop - yet they serve you your fist paid pop in a very small flute glass!! Prices have gone up on all menu items AND they are nickel and diming you on pop!! Left with a negative feeling of disappointment, for the first time in 30 years. So sad that this part of our history is no longer what it used to be!

We had been postponing to go this place for so long; finally we went last Saturday. The restaurant was pack, it was a good sign... and Yes, the food is delicious, the service was great (Rosalyn), and the environment was the best "hilarious".

We went back to Black Forest Inn for lunch yesterday. The food was great as always, and the service was also excellent. I had a schnitzel and a nice Austrian beer. We loved it so much, even ordered a cream cheese to go which was also superb. We will definitely be coming back for more delicious stuff. Highly recommend!

To start, the service was fantastic from the greeting to the bill. The restaurant is dated but in a way, it gives it so much charm. The servers still wear the traditional uniforms which in itself is a great part of the experience. To top it all off, the food was amazing... large portions and a great price. Overall a great experience for our group and no one was disappointed.

Horrible decor. Food was mediocre. The portions are huge and no effort is made to make the food look good. The chicken alfredo special was basically a dried up chicken breast with so much sauce on it (literally right to the edge of the plate) it was almost inedible. Paper placemats, tacky dishes, horrendous decor (you could seriously do with some updating). Serrvice was lacking. After spending over $200 for the meal, left disapointed with the evening. Will not be wasting our money there again.

Been going here since I was in a high chair. Nothing bad to say. The food is amazing Recommend to anyone who visits. We always go early for dinner because it is super busy. Portions are huge. The meatball soup is my favourite starter.

I have been going there since forever... I was a kid going with my parents I have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere and would normally give a 5- ⭐️ rating but all great things must come to an end sadly I now go once a year to honor my father since he has passed 12 yrs ago ... I kno he wouldnt have liked the fact that they changed their menu and have excluded some items... not sure if I’ll return next year

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for many years and it’s been my favourite. When the new owners took over, my question to them was are you going to keep everything the same? They guaranteed nothing would change. We went this past Saturday evening for dinner and was so disappointed. They have a new menu and have taken quite a few things off the menu. My husband is not a schnitzel lover so always had the steak dinner with the onion gravy and had that every time we came and I always have the Vienna schnitzel. They no longer have the steak plate and my schnitzel was very thick. We were extremely disappointed and won’t be back. It’s too bad it was my favourite restaurant to go to. So if anyone who loves it there just beware things HAVE changed and it’s too bad. They’ve ruined a great thing.

Hadn't been there for about 20 years. Finally made our way back. Food was great. The waitress said that the lunch schnitzel was a little smaller than the regular. I don't know how. It almost took up the entire plate. And it was perfect. I'll have to go back and try a few more things. Their version of mac and cheese sounds promising.

We were customers for 25 years and always loved it but tonight we took our family there for a birthday and it was terrible from the beginning. The new owner was rude when we walked in. After waiting almost two hours for a table the waitress was extremely rude as well, but I think it was more frustration as the new owner is making a lot of changes.
The food has taken a nose dive. Skimping everywhere, we were served frozen mixed vegetables. The cordon blue is not the same as you had to search for the cheese and ham.
A very disappointing night and we will never be back. It's a shame when good things come to an end.

Took a large group of friends last night who had never been to the Black Forest. Wasn't sure what to expect with the change of ownership; however, everyone loved it. The same friendly fun service, the same great food in gigantic portions, and great beer. We will keep coming back again and again. Congratulations Black Forest Inn!

The food was out of this world, just I remember from years ago. Our server, Bridgitie, was so great! I took my sons there for the first time, and they cannot wait to go back!!!
