The food, service and variety of craft beers was all amazing!!! We were in the city for something else and found this place, I will drive back to the city in the future just to go out for lunch. I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed �

Delicious food, the crab poutine is delicious. Burgers are to die for, the shrimp po boy is amazing. Atmosphere is really cool and the service is on point. Def be back when I go back to Hamilton.

One of the stalwart staples of Augusta street, i don't know anyone who doesn't love the Ship. Going to Mezcal and its full? The Ship is right there as a solid backup.
I enjoyed another evening there recently, and once again couldn't help but order the Fish Tacos. On par with Mezcal , they were well portioned, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. My colleague had the crab poutine, which he was not impressed with.
Service is sometimes hit and miss, but last week it was spot on, and the workers seemed to be more attentive in general.
Beer selection cannot be argued with, and is always a great rotating selection of local craft brews.
I will be coming here for as long as they let me.

Seriously great burgs whether you're feeling adventurous or not. Tasty craft brews on tap. Easy going, friendly, likeable staff/management. I don't recall the prices but I did walk out feeling I easily received solid value on my dollar.

We went to The Ship for the first time last night for our girls night out. We got the Coconut Shrimp, Crab Cakes, 2 different burgers and Fish Tacos. Everybody loved the fiod and the atmosphere. The service was also excellent. We will definitely be back!!

I went to the ship with my boyfriend on the first really nice weekday we have had this season, and as expected the patio was packed (on the whole street) we opted to sit and eat inside and it didn't disappoint. We both went for burgers (with fries) AND THEY WERE SO AMAZING WOWOWOW

I went here on a Saturday when there was basically no crowd. Their clam chowder and sweet potato fries were both superb. However the buttermilk chicken burger I had was rather bland. Great service all around though and a good place to eat.

Great fish, yummy burgers. Chill and relaxed environment. Good service. A little bit of a wait during busy times but worth it. It's a great place for lunch on the patio in warmer weather but the inside is charming as well!

Amazing fish tacos. The best in the James St S/N area FOR SURE!!! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu (except for the salads are honestly not my favourite). You have the option of choosing what your protein on the burger menu will be, which makes it friendly for everybody whether you are a meat eater or not!
It's a great spot to go for lunch, dinner, out for drinks with friends! It's always my first choice!Serving staff are always nice and knowledgeable. Great selection of craft beers. Only one red or white wine though. Highly recommended!

Solid burger joint. Always busy but worth sticking around for a seat. Eat all the burgers. Appetizers/snack menu is pretty great too but the star of the show is definitely the burgers. I probably stand alone on this one but I'm not a fan of the buns. Appreciate the late night kitchen hours too

I cannot say enough good things about this spot - my wife and I generally go weekly for pints and the Po'Boy but everything else on the menu is fantastic. Try the clamstrips, trust me.
When we're not wanting beer, the caesars are really tasty and a great price point. I wish that they could offer more food on their late night menu (only so I could come by more often!)
If you're looking for some seriously delicious eats - check this spot out, you won't want to miss it.

Always There!. The Ship is always my go to place if I want to have a few pints or dinner with friends. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the food is always delicious and satisfying, and the atmosphere is always happening! I always recommend this place for friends or family members. And their prices aren't bad either. The only slight downfall about this place is that sometimes it tends to get overcrowded due to lack of room, and there are only two bathrooms available (one per gender.) But other than that, always a great time!

The food was delicious. Had to wait a while for our meal but it was worth it. We had the coconut shrimp. Great. Crab cakes great. Breakfast burger was one of the best. The crab po boy was really good and so was the clam po boy. The most amazing was my sons catfish dinner. One of the best pieces of fish I've had this far from the ocean. The fries were also fantastic. Definitely recommend this place. In fact we are taking our friends there next weekend.

Very Good. To be honest I thought this place would only offer deep fried options. I was wrong. I LOVE the new summer menu ! I had the shrimp and watermelon salad it was very very good. My friend ordered the catfish burger. she said it was delicious. We both had the raspberry wheat beer. I will be back ! Oh...and the server/staff were nice and friendly.

Great Hang Out! Good Food. This is an awesome place to go if you're looking for a place with a chill vibe, a great beer selection and good food. Its in a cute old house with a front and back patio, fooseball and board games upstairs. The crowd this place attracts is cool as, friendly, attractive, not a lot of attitude and a good mix between students and older 20 and 30-somethings. There's a decent selection of craft beer on tap, but its a tad boring and repetitive and tends to favour Amsterdam, Mill Street and Sam Adams a bit too heavily for my taste but the prices are so good and at least Canadian wasn't a choice! Its a great introductory beer bar though, I'm beyond thrilled to see The Ship supporting small and local breweries and I'd love to see them take the lead on this in Hamilton. All the food I've had has been decent. The sweet and sour nachos are huge and good but vary in goodness depending on who's making them (Its all about layering the cheese! Someone there doesn't do it properly!). The burgers are amazing and the fish tacos are probably my favorite thing on the menu! The staff is really friendly and personable, and there's just a really good vibe about the whole operation...I go there all the time in the afternoons to chill out by myself. Keep up the good work guys!

Good pub/seafood. I had the alligator. I liked it it a lot. My friend had the fish tacos and she said they were Awesome. Some really nice micro brews too ! Staff was friendly and the food was very good. I'm going to try the sweet potato shepherd's pie next time.!

Tasty treats from the sea. Had the best fish sandwich of my life at the Ship. it was called 'Halibut on Bun", and it was served with a delicious side of fries. I washed it all down with a cheap pint of microbrew...HEAVEN.

Just walking in to the Ship is like walking into a cozy basement with better food and a lot more good beer...a great, relaxing place for dinner or grabbing a relaxing drink. The inside is small but cozy and the staff just make this a welcoming place that just exudes cool!

Catfish and chips! Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The batter to fish ratio was on point. Even the coleslaw was amazing and fresh. Love it. We went on a weekday so it wasn’t too busy, but they only have 4-5 tables in the main dining room! They also have a bar, patio space (front and back) and an upstairs lounge. It was a different dining experience for me, homey yet still a restaurant.

This cayenne spiced beef burger with jalapenos, cheddar, tomatoes, lettuce and spicy ketchup was the real deal. The patty was flavourful, meaty and juicy, the toppings were just in the right amount and the spice was excellent. Definitely not for those with a delicate palate, it was high on the mouth-burning heat scale and that cold beer sure came in handy at this point. The bun was perfect too. It held
