Review Berkeley North Restaurant - Hamilton

Deserves a 10 star review, the place is beautifully decorated it has that New York soho vibe. The staff greeted us with friendly smile and was very accommodating. This is a tapas style restaurant, with small but filling portion. We had the Coconut Shrimp, Lamp Spring roll, Hamilton Hot Chicken, Mushroom Cheese Gnocchi, Meatballs and sourdough bread with ricotta spread. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ all so delicious. I have to admit it has one of the best tasting food in Hamilton. This a must visit place to enjoy with friends or just for a date night! Thanks to Matt and his staff for a memorable night. What are you waiting for just go...😃😃

We had an amazing dinner with a wonderful waitress! The portions were delightfully quaint and the taste was refreshing! We had the pasta as our main and the shrimp tempura for apps which The dessert is a hit or miss because one has to enjoy orange chocolate, so buyers and foodies beware!

My wife and I went to Berkeley North for the first time tonight for a date night! It will definitely NOT be our last time. We had an outstanding time and would recommend! The restaurant accommodated our request for a more private table without even blinking an eye. The food, drinks, ambience and service was amazing. Our server checked on us throughout the evening, explained the menu and answered any questions we had. We were promptly greeted and seated when we arrived and when we left we were thanked by multiple staff members for coming and all said goodnight! The prices fairly reflected the service and meal we had. Our food and drinks all arrived quickly (and hot) and we never felt rushed. The fresh cheese and sourdough is out of this world!

We visited Berkeley North for brunch on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t very busy. We had made reservations and were promptly seated and served. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was clean. There’s no specific brunch menu but the lunch menu has a few brunch type options. We ordered the smoked salmon plate, shakshuka, and the featured quiche, all for two of us to share. The serving sizes weren’t too small but not too big either, so it made sense for us to order three things to share. It was a bit pricey but all the food tasted delicious.

That food and cocktails were amazing. Great staff. Relaxing atmosphere. So many delicious things on the menu. Highly recommend.

I came here for breakfast with my sister and the food was awesome! We got the shakshuka and quiche, the shakshuka was more than enough for both of us and we took the quiche to go. Our server was super friendly and they’ve decorated the restaurant very nicely! Love the plants and style of this place.

Great service, the servers were super nice and accommodating. The food was really great, it was very heavy and filling, the teriyaki eggplant needed a bit more flavour.

Amazing experience at this restaurant with the most delicious food! Food - the fried eggplant and coconut shrimp were amazing! Also the chana rolls and fried chicken were delicious. Atmosphere - the decor was beautiful, so many lovely plants and perfect lighting. Not too loud, cozy booths and tables not too close together. Service - exceptional! Our server Alex was very attentive to our needs and took the time to explain the menu very well. The timing of the food coming out was perfect. The little considerations were hugely appreciated - bringing a canister of hot water for our mom, quickly bringing over napkins when we spilled a drink (sorry!) and constantly filling our water/drinks. We didn’t have to ask for anything - the servers were always steps ahead! We had several staff tend to our table which shows the incredible team work of the staff at this restaurant. Cannot wait to return and try more dishes!

Great NYE Prix fixe menu! The tater tot caviar amuse was decadently delicious. The rib eye melted in my mouth. The cream puff dessert was also exquisite despite it's simplicity. Always impressed by the excellent service at Berkley North. This place remains on my go to list even if I did love it even more when the menu was exclusively pescatarian. Words I would never imagine myself saying as a proud meatatarian. I can, however, appreciate that a pescatarian concept might be too much too soon for the Hamilton scene. It is a shame, because it was amazing to experience a meal without meat where I didn't even miss it. Please bring back the edamame dumplings and the King Crab pasta!

The food is amazing! Great selection for all sorts of eaters, and every bite is savoury. I also have to commend the owner, Matt. A group of friends and I had a bit of a misunderstanding with our waitress. It was nothing major, but I wanted to clarify the situation. Matt replied to my inquiries and went above and beyond to resolve the situation. This place is a must visit both for the food and for the service. Would highly recommend!

I am pescatarian, so when I heard about Berkley North, I was SUPER excited. I went for dinner with a friend last night and they did not disappoint. I loved the tapas style dining because it gave us the option to try so many amazing dishes. We ordered probably 10 different things and each was just as incredible as the last. Every dish was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Our highlights were definitely the delectable edamame dumplings and the squash tempura. Sophia was our server and she was attentive and lovely. All the staff here is so warm, welcoming and genuine. The beautiful smell of fresh wood, the ambient lighting and soft but fun music throughout this space provide such a warm and lovely atmosphere, that could have made us stay all night (unfortunately we came pretty close to closing time.) I would go so far as to say this was the best food and overall dining experience I have ever had in Hamilton (and I've had MANY.) Berkley North is an absolute must try and my new fave spot!

Fantastic Food & Service! They have a very diverse menu - something for everyone & vegetarian friendly. We had the fresh cheese, fried green beans, roasted pork lettuce wraps and mushroom dumplings. Everything was fantastic - highly recommend the fried green beans! The service was amazing - the best we've received at any Hamilton restaurant! The staff are attentive, knowledgable & friendly. Highly recommend for date night, friends night or a family outing!

Amazing amazing food. Best meal we’ve had in a while. It’s a great place to bring a group and order a bunch of plates to share. Wonderful owner and staff as well, which makes the atmosphere that much better. Really glad we found this place and will be back soon!

Stopped in Saturday night by chance. Glad we did. Matt, our server'/proprietor was on point!!! Everything we had has amazing. Everything we did not have looked just as good. Fresh atmosphere - wonderfully creative dishes - so so good. If you have the chance stop in. You will be glad you did. Hamilton is kicking it with great restaurants right now - this one by far the best we tried.

Unexpected dinner out turned into one of my best dining experiences in Hamilton to date! We were planning to grab a quick drink but walked by Berkeley North and loved the inviting feel the restaurant has. We were greeted by a warm and friendly hostess. It was 8:30 pm on a Friday evening and we were lucky enough to get a table right away (which I understand is not normally the case). The service team was extremely hospitable, prompt and knowledgeable. The beer and wine selection is perfect. Something for everyone. My husband and I do not eat seafood or fish... and we had plenty of options to choose from. Loved the fresh cheese w/ sour dough and green beans (those were two of our favourites!) The chicken dish was also delish. Next time will be trying the steak for two. Thank you Berkeley North, we now have a new go to at the top of our list for dinner!

I really enjoyed my experience! My party consisted of 3 adults and an 18 month old who presented for brunch. We all ordered different items and sampled them. The savoury scone delivered. Although, I would have preferred if it was warmed and it was suggested by another patron that it be served with butter. I also got a carrot ginger juice. It was decidedly carroty (slightly too much so for my preference). My toddler niece L-O-V-E-D it. She sucked 'er back like nobody's business. I ordered the vegetarian Eggs Benny. Eggs Benedict is one of my favourite foods and I thought I would miss the meat. NOPE! The creamed spinach was beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, the salad on the plate was gorgeous, I would have preferred a bit more dressing. It lived up to the menu descriptor of 'fancy lettuce', let me tell you. The home fries were wonderfully crispy, if not slightly over salted- again, a big hit with the toddler. Oh! A lovely addition to my meal was the hot sauce that I requested. I immediately noticed that it was not Frank's or Tobasco and was informed that it was made in house for the Caesars. The fare of my co- gourmands was incredibly tasty as well. The service was delightful as was the decor. At no point did I find it overly noisy and there were several other families there. They do not have highchairs as of yet but we were assured that they're working on it. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived and was provided with a purse hook. A little gesture that set the tone for service right from the beginning. I will most definitely be checking out their lunch and dinner menus as well. I wish staff and owners much success and thank them for contributing to the Hamilton food scene.

Loved the atmosphere. The staff was so kind and welcoming, everyone had a smile on their face. I went for my birthday tonight, and they gave me cheesecake on the house, which was the best vegan cheesecake I ever had! Delicious, fresh food, I would recommend this place to anyone.

Enjoyed truly an extraordinary culinary experience at this restaurant recently. We were a large group so the chef offered us a tasting menu featuring highlights from the standard menu and some specialties for the day. Words cannot describe the brilliance to each menu item but all I can say is that you need to experience it for yourself… The bar menu and cocktails were diverse and unique and each one that I tasted was perfectly put together. This is THE restaurant in Hamilton and a must try by locals and visitors alike with a great take on vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian cuisine.

Go! Worth the drive to experience everything about this place. 5 star food, service and vibe. #christinarecommended

Flavours and food options are amazing, flavourful and fresh! Best place to go for healthy vegetarian options that I've found so far! Will definitely bring more friends and can't wait to go back to see the new fresh items on their menu �

An amazing resteraunt. Has a wonderful ambiance, superb food and the best service I have ever seen, don’t miss out! Not to mention the head chef is one of a kind!

Everything was A+ - the food (omg!), drink, atmosphere, and service! Prices were beyond reasonable for the quality. Two glasses of wine, one cocktail, and four dishes for 2 people came to $90 :) Do not hesitate in trying this gem!

I never give a five star rating (as there is always room for improvement) but in the case of Berkeley North I had to make an exception. This is what a restaurant should be. Excellent, thoughtful, fresh food. Welcoming, helpful service. Warm, upscale surroundings which are clean and comfortable. I have been several times to this lovely restaurant and have never been disappointed. This is the place I want to share with family and friends when we are thinking of going out. Awesome addition to Hamilton's growing restaurant scene.
