Taste Of East - Halifax - Photo album

This restaurant doesn’t gave importance for decorations but the food!!! Their food was amazing and delicious. We ordered Braised Pork Shoulder. It was so good and melted in my mouth. Braised Beef Brisket was also tender. Both dishes were not easily and need longer time to cook. Anyhow, it is worth f
The food was authentic and flavourful but a bit oily for my liking. Despite that, we visited twice during our trip to Halifax and enjoyed the dishes that we tried. There were far more meat focused dishes than mixed or vegetarian options but it wasn’t too difficult to customize or make requests. Serv
Highly recommend. Everything I ordered was tasty. Crunchy chicken, curried lamb, shredded pork with bean curd, noodles with bean paste and cucumber, cucumber salad. All very much on point. Great for a group. Vegetarian options available.
Authentic North Eastern Chinese food. A big menu with various dish options and even daily lunch specials available. We have been here many times and they are very consistent with the taste of their dish. We got the zesty eggplant which is cooked in a lot of oil, but is so worth it with plain white r
The Mapu Tofu was one of the best I ever had. The Yeung Chow fried rice and the sizzling beef steak were also delicious. Too bad I was not staying for long in Halifax, I could have ordered all their menu :(
I know I don’t like Canadian Chinese food. This is not that. Our first meal last night was wonderful. Braised chicken - fall off the bone delicious. A slow cooked eggplant dish that tasted like it cooked for hours. Heaven. In fact all dishes were excellent. Navigating the menu is part of the charm
Tastes pretty authentic! My boyfriend needs gluten-free food and they were super nice and patient about explaining the menu and customizing dishes for us.
I could not be more pleased with the level of professionalism, the deliciousness of the food and how homey this place was! Our food was cooked fresh, to order and came with friendly service. I would come all the way back to Halifax just to eat here again!
Great, authentic Northern Chinese food. The lady that usually waits tables there is very personable, helpful and friendly. Prices are quite decent, although you should bank on waiting quite a while for your food. Everything made from scratch. I really like the black ear fungus.
The food they make here is SO GOOD. Their steam buns are so tasty, with a subtle spice blend that complements the tender pork. Fried eggplant crisped to perfection, spices and sauces on point, definitely worth checking it out!!
