Review East Side Mario's - Guelph

Guelph ESM is the best of the bunch. Seafood fettuccini was delish as was the accompanying salad and soup. Great job by the staff++

Elyssa was our waitress and she's awesome - made us feel welcomed and appreciated. I'm giving Elyssa 5 stars! Why 2 stars? The rating reflects the service received from the manager. Order of events: The manager seats us at a table. I noticed an empty booth. I asked if I could have it. I was told no. 10 minutes later it was offered to the family that was waiting for a table with us. I should have spoken with the manager about why a family of 4 could have the booth but not our family of 4, given that we were both waiting for tables and my family arrived first. After a long day and looking for a place to enjoy dinner with my family I just didn't have the patience to speak with someone about being treated like a second class citizen. So 2 stars. 👌

Our server Sara/Sarah was excellent! Super friendly and accomodating. The food is always 'good' here. I don't expect gourmet by any stretch but it's more than good enough for the service and quality that I would expect from a franchised restaurant in this category. I always visit when I'm back in Guelph and will do so again next time I'm up!

Reservations are recommended. Went with my family (wife and 2 year old) and friends on a Saturday. Server gave me the 'look' when I didn't order anything for myself (only because I knew my wife and 2 year old wouldn't finish their food). Server changed their demeanor when I paid for the bill and gave a 20% tip.

It has been 22 years since I dined at that location. The service and food was excellent then. The service and food was excellent now! It was really good, but I wasn't given the chance to enjoy the all you can eat they offer. In other words, there service was almost too quick. Even during rushes they've never disappointed me

I’ve had a few less than memorable experiences at the Guelph location and tonight was appalling. The waitresses were alright. Above mediocre and I understand that they can only give me what they have to work with. I respect that and have no outstanding complaint. The food however… We ordered budda boomers and got them cold, few and greasy. We asked for them to replace them because we know that sometimes mistakes happen. I normally would have just forgotten the first batch and moved on, but the next batch replacing the first was somehow worse. They were warm this time and greasy but not hot for something that would’ve been just made fresh within 5 minutes. More like they had been sitting for 10-15 minutes and then brought out to us. And somehow these were not all fully cooked! Huge disappointment. The budda boomers are normally amazing and a definite recommend, but not in this situation. My partner and I love them and we were sorely let down this time. The salad was mildly drowned in dressing. The pasta was excellent and I’ve yet to not enjoy the bread. This is something that neither my partner or myself have experienced at any other location except the Guelph location. We’ve been to the Waterloo location receiving several memorable evenings regardless of problems such as customer volume weighing on the cooking quality. I’ve been coming to East Side Mario’s since I was 8. I know what I’m talking about.

We go to ESM almost twice every month..this was the best experience we had. Our server was Shauna, who made it better. The store manager made it better and convenient for us...👍👍👍

The best location. Best tasting food, best atmosphere and the best servers. Usually this restaurant is as mediocre as it gets, but this location actually provides an excellent dining experience. Well done Guelph team!

One of my kids’ favourite places to eat. Always amazing, friendly service and great eats and drinks!

We have been visiting Eastside Mario Guelph for over 15 years. We've seen a lot of changes over the years but one thing for sure, the staff from the hosts, cooks, servers to managers have always treated us with respect and kindness. We have become "regulars" and I think I speak for the many many other regulars when I say, this is a great place and atmosphere with good food, where they come to know your name and people there are definitely extended family. Keep it up my friends, Cindy P

This is one of the busiest restaurants in Guelph every day of the week, and with good reason. The staff is excellent, and no matter how busy the restaurant is the service is always fast.

don't order their $10 pasta if your hungry, may son and I left hungry could have eaten twice what was served.It was good but for what pasta sells for at the grocery store, they where pretty stingy, it's not like they where serving gold.

I have to visit every time I visit my daughter in Fergus, have been doing so for +- 20yrs.

Harmony Kids enjoyed a visit today with host, Daryl and chef, Tif. What fun the children had --- touring your kitchen and making pizza! Delightful and MOST delicious! Thank you to the East Side staff for your patience and kindness. We'll be back for sure!!

Second time at this location and both times the service was less than poor. They arbitrarily charge for items that other locations do not. The manager, Judy has a few things to learn in regards to what it means to be a "Leader" for a team. The waitress Brynn needs to find a new career. Clearly, serving the public has taken a toll on her. I say this simply because she got in a physical confrontation with a 4 year old in our party! In all fairness, the child was leaving with their drink in hand but instead of approaching one of the several adults, Brynn, took it upon herself to put her hands on the child and grabbed the drink in "mid sip" out of her hand as she shouted "oh no you don't"!! There were a couple other staff present who looked on in horror and then apologized. Signed, We won't be back

My husband I order take out from here as it is the only gluten free place that delivers in town. at least every other time it has been bad. Tonight was the last straw. Clearly there is no quality check on take out as more often then not our order was either incorrect or missing something that we ordered. We continued to give them the benefit of the doubt but receiving yet another crappy order tonight means this is the last time we will be eating here. Poor quality, poor customer service on the phone and poor follow through.
