Review Cafe Greek Garden - Guelph

Seriously the best food on the planet, amazing service, great atmosphere, fair prices, and huge portions! I've been going here for over 10 years, and I've never been disappointed. They are consistently amazing!

Food rated 4 stars, server 1. We had a rude, slow, forgetful server who seemed to resent our presence. While we heard the server at the next tables be friendly and seemed to provide great service, we really felt we were a bother to ours. Great apps, enjoyed the bruschetta and spanakopita. Greek salad was excellent, but the souvlaki pita was just okay. Chicken was dry, definitely not a do over. The baklava for dessert was very good but the rude, abrupt server was off putting. We may try this place again but will definitely avoid that particular server.

Update on July 12th 2022. My wife, my 2½ years old son and I came to dine-in at Cafe Greek Garden. The Chef Setar recognized my son and I from so many times we have come for takeout. Chef Setar was wonderful and he spoiled my son with a special kids meal. We were assist by Juan. He was very polite, friendly and helpful. Juan gave us great menu recommendations. We got our food served, and the presentation, details and portions were phenomenal We were delighted with our food and how delicious it was. We will definitely come to dine-in more often. I am so happy that this restaurant is so close to my house. The restaurant itself is very well set up, clean and organized, and with a great atmosphere. Their food is simply delicious and always very fresh. The Cafe Greek Garden is one of my family favorite restaurants. The two young ladies who assisted me when I went, they were very friendly and professional (Thursday March 17th 2022 around 8:20pm). Fully recommended 😉😁😎🤟🏻🇨🇦🍁 PS: I will post pictures of the food next time. I wanted to enjoy my food so badly that I forgot to take a picture, but trust me... it was delicious 😋

I’ve been a server for 15 years and never left a negative review but today was Mother’s Day. My mom order the stuffed chicken it had paper throughout it, so my mom asked to have another cooked. Instead they sent out the same piece just covered in sauce hoping my mom wouldn’t notice. She asked again for it remade and I was told it takes to long to recook another one and they wouldn’t do it. That she could have lamb (she won’t eat) instead as it doesn’t take long to cook. Then decided to blame the server saying it’s her fault when clearly there was paper in the chicken… how is that the servers fault? The owner didn’t really seem to care how upset my mom was. My poor mom on her day didn’t even eat dinner after this and she was so excited to come here. The amazing server we had ( sorry can’t remember her name but she’s been there 24 years) was the best part about this whole experience… she got my mom her favourite dessert after all this… thank you so much. Will not be returning and this was one of our favourite restaurants to meet at.

I haven't seen the bad server that everyone is talking about in a while. My past couple visits have had great service! The reason I've kept coming back -- even when the service was terrible -- is the utterly amazing food. Greek food is not my favorite, but I am absolutely stunned at the culinary experience here. I've never had a boring side, even their steamed vegetables are packed with flavor! Given the subjective taste of food, it takes a lot to consistently blow someone away, but the cooks at Cafe Greek Garden do it every time I come.

As soon as I came here the waitress was rude. I was friendly and asked to be seated outside and the waitress said, "no, it's windy outside" even though it was sunny and nice out. We still said we'd like to be seated outside. We got there around 7pm. We got our water and some complementary bread 10 minutes in. The waitress was still rude to us for no reason. We ordered a salad and our meal and by 7:45 we still didn't even have our salad and the entire time no one came to check in on us. I was about to leave. Eventually we asked if our salad was even ready or if we were forgotten about. She came back out and said the kitchen had to prepare the veggies so it took longer? and she gave us the salad with feta which we asked without feta. I am not sure why she was so rude from the very beginning when we weren't. I even gave a small tip since I was unsure of what happened that day in the kitchen or if it was her fault. Either way I wouldn't come back it was such an unpleasant experience.

We ordered dinner for takeout with a scheduled pick up time of 6:15pm. We arrived on time, and were told they were running "A few minutes late". Our meals weren't ready until 7:23pm! If it hadn't been prepaid, we would have just given up. The portion sizes were good, but the chicken was dry and barely palatable. The best part of the meal was the rice. Very disappointing service and food.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was so delicious and tasty ,the service was amazing and the interior decoration is so lovely.

Best Greek food this side of Toronto! Service is always fast and efficient. Great place to bring friends and family to. I sometimes drive in from Kitchener just to eat here :)

Cafe Greek Gardens has great atmosphere. Lovely servers and who I think is the owner ( very nice gentleman who sat us). And the food was delicious! I had the lamb souvlaki and my man had the veal parmigiana. Which he says was delicious! We keep going back, time and again.

I wanted to say a super huge thank you to the staff and cooks at the Greek Gardens today for making my mom's 80th birthday lunch something special. Our family came from near and far. Everyone loved the food and the service was awesome!! Thank you so much!

Was much better years ago. Went for the first time in 15 years and the food was not great. We had charbrouled Calamari which was a bowl of squid rings in a broth. Most greek restaurants do it grilled and that is what we were expecting. My husband had chicken souvlaki which had a weird texture ( almost like it was processed). He didn't enjoy it at all. He said the mall souvlaki is better. I had halibut which was good. The portions are also very small for the sides. Only a few spoons of rice and two small potato pieces. Usually greek restaurants are more generous.

My girlfriend and I went here for a girls night out. I go maybe once a year. They keep improving the inside. Lovely food great staff. Portions are large. If you order an appetizer you probably won't be able to finish your main course. Go and enjoy yourself.

My family and I have ordered takeout quite a few times from Cafe Greek Garden in the past year and a bit. NEVER have we been satisfied with the service, but we always give them another chance. The food is very average, but the service is unbelievably horrible. The first time we ordered takeout, we received caesar salads instead of greek salads. They compensated by offering us a free Baklava the next time we ordered. So we ordered again. Half our food did not show up. It has been a few months since we have attempted to order from this restaurant, until last week when we ordered two simple souvlaki dinners, that took two hours to arrive. But the worst experience to date happened today, between the hours of 5 and 8:30. We placed our initial orders at 5:00 pm. The hostess ensured us our meals would be arriving in 20-25 minutes. An hour later, we called back to see where our food is. The hostess said "Sorry, I should have mentioned we are using a different driver tonight so the delivery could take up to an hour." At 6:30, we received our food WITHOUT our complimentary greek salads. We called back. 3 times. at 8:05, after arguing with the manager until they finally agreed to give us free meals for the next time, our salads arrived, and one of them had a strand of hair in it. This is by far the worst restaurant we have ever encountered in Guelph, and it is a shame. Needless to say, we will not be going back for our free meals, as it is just not worth it whatsoever.

Great food, laid back environment and a friendly staff. I just wish their takeout meant less Styrofoam.
