Well I just love this place !!! My sister has recently introduced me to the restaurant, and I have been coming every week for the past month . I can not get enough of the panko crusted goat cheese ball . It is seriously heaven in my mouth !!!! I love the atmosphere also. Last Sunday I was there , and we were in the dining room area and we had this lady with an accent . I cannot remember her name Mona maybe ? Well she did amazing . I guess there was a no show that day ( p.s I am a server , and if you hire me , i wouldn't do that , I would love to work here !) .... Anyways she had this party of let's say like ten right down the middle of the dining room, and literally every booth as well . People started piling in, she was on her own. And as a server myself, of course I am secretly stressing out for her on the inside . This little boy caused her to spill a drink on the table , and then he proceeded to ask her why she put so much ice in his drink . She kept her cool and was very classy . I give her mad props !!! Not only did she have a smile on her face , she also was able to run every single drink and food order herself, I guess due to the lack of a no show . I don't know, either way she killed it !!!
Today I was there again with my boyfriend . We have a lovely server as well with purplely red hair . The food there is so good. My boyfriend is Italian, and he loves to eat haha, but he even said when we got home that this is now his new favorite place to eat. Our meals were so fresh and full of flavor . I can't wait until the patio opens up !!!

The staff was very welcoming and real... not fake and over-the-top. The food and beer were excellent.
I love Borealis! It's one of my favorite restaurants in Guelph. The food is delicious. Everything, and I mean everything, I've had from there is soooo yummy, especially the butternut squash ravioli � the service is always fantastic as well. This place will not disappoint, I promise!!
Had a fantastic time celebrating the New Year at Borealis. Always great service and the meal was delicious.
My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary here tonight, we enjoyed ourselves very much. The food was fabulous, I ate every last bite of the turkey burger and my husband loved the brisket mac & cheese. The customer service and just plain friendliness of Dora was so welcoming, something you don't get in most restaurants. We will definitely be returning with our kids next time, for another great evening.
We had a wonderful evening last night and took advantage of your Wednesday Date Night menu. (We won a date night from Magic) and it was my birthday. Our meal was amazing, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely. Thank you, we will be back!!
For a pescetarian, last night's cucumber, salmon and incredible sauce was amazing.

Great service, loved the locally sourced food. Would have been a certain 5 rating had it not been for the local pet fly named Jerry. Rumour has it an unsuspecting patron squashed him when walking in the front door though. You'll have to go to find out...
Great food. This was our second time at Borealis and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food is fresh and the service was great. The atmosphere was great too.
Great food!. Went in with a party of 10, service was great considering it was pretty busy when we all arrived. I ordered the burger which was very good, but I'll have to try the slow cooked duck next time!
Excellent all-around experience. We decided on Borealis with knowledge only of its nice looking exterior and not its actual menu. We were not disappointed. We were greeted quickly by friendly staff, and once seated met our waiter who set us up with drinks immediately. One of us ordered the apple cinnamon mojito and thought it was divine! Highly recommend! The food was incredible as well. Truly everything from start to finish was really amazing. As we drove away we were already planning out what we might order when we're in next!

Certainly deceptive. You're in for a service and meal you'd pay $40-50 for anywhere else, but your entree will be under $20 and it'll be from within 100 km. Great concept, great food, rustic yet modern atmosphere. I don't think restaurants get any better.
Had an amazing meal there last night with my husband. We had the tomato Parmesan flatbread to start, which was so fresh and flavorful. Our entrees were the stuffed chicken and the chicken alfredo on farfalle noodles (spring 2012 menu). It was incredible and probably the best pasta I've ever had. Will definitely be going back! It may be a bit more expensive but the food is worth it, especially when you are supporting local farmers. Fantastic service too. Wow!
Truly a local gem. We'll be back again!. Our first visit tonight. We asked our server, Eric, for his recommendations, and his suggestion of the Prime Rib and the Roasted Beet Salad with Chicken were absolutely excellent. And his suggestion for the Ultimate Butter Tart for dessert was delectable. Tableside service was stupendous: warm, friendly, relaxed, professional, courteous, and exact.
We thoroughly enjoyed the local menu, the comfortable environment, the excellent service, and the overall wonderful experience.
We'll definitely be back!

Guelph's New Hot Spot. I've been eating here over the past year and the place keeps getting busier and busier...an amazing atmosphere. I think people are starting to realize that great, locally made foods doesn't have to be expensive. It's impressive to see such a place stick to its philosophy of supporting local...GOOD WORK!!!
This is hands down, one of Canada's hidden jems. We stumbled onto this place during a recent visit to Guelph and the best steak and prime rib dinners we've ever eaten. Once you've eaten here, you'll never want factory food again.

Great, fresh local Canadian fare. Interesting menu and very nice interior with local art and a warm feeling. Great place to take someone you care about. A little pricey, but definitely worth it.
