I got to say it's expensive but in this case you get what you pay for and it delivers service and restaurant atmosphere is top notch... (For a place that isn't highroller or down town metropolis). What sets this place apart is really the service really the meals and dishes are very simple... But satisfying but it's the service that sets this place truly a part. I've eaten at some very expensive places and this place is service is as good....

As a vegetarian I don't go to the keg all that often (for obvious reasons). But every time I do go, I leave feeling totally satisfied. I recently went on a Saturday night for a date night with my hubby. We sat downstairs in the bar. From appies to mains to dessert and drinks in between our service was top notch! I know it's a "steakhouse" but I totally recommend the crème brûlée, you will not be disappointed.
Reservation worked great. Got a phonecall from the restaurant within 15 mins to confirm.
Best steakhouse in town. Yes, it's a chain, but it's still the best steakhouse in town. Prices are fair considering. Service is always awesome, and 8/10 times the food is stellar. Horrible parking though.
Gluten-free friendly. We always hit the Keg on the way through GP. Great service, great food and able to deal with all sorts of allergies very knowledgeably.
Kind of pricey but I always enjoy my meal there. They know how to cook seafood, meaning they don't cook the hell out of it.
Steak. Still the best cooked steak in town. I have been to other places and are mad when you tell them that this is not medium rare. At the keg you don't have to explain to them what medium rare should look like. It is a very reasonable price for what you get especially in this town. Been there dozens of times and only not been completely satisfied a couple of times it is busy which makes it a little loud but you want to eat at a restaurant that is busy otherwise either the food, service or both are poor not to mention what state is the kitchen in. You would not eat at about 90% of the places that exist if you knew the state and cleanliness as well as practices that go on in the kitchen.
I would say the remarks about it being too expensive are mote of a review of the chain than the restaurant here. Having been to the Rics grill nearby in the same week, I can say it is a bit cheaper at The Keg. I also found the service to be better and the staff to be more professional. Overall I would say it is better managed. The restaurant is busy, so its noisier. However I don't see anyone struggling to hold conversations. Personally I would rather a busy restaurant If only for the reason that I know its good enough to keep it's customers. Prime rib was as expected and came with enough food to fill you up. Nothing too fancy. Would come back.
Fool proof. Hands down best Restraunt in Grande Prairie. Always look forward to the next opportunity.
