Review Le Caveau Restaurant - Grand Pre

Don't go to scarf down some food and run off. The staff has created an ambiance and menu that needs to be savored. Along with a delicious bottle of wine. They put so much care into every element of the food it's beyond a phenomenal experience and worth every penny.

Beautiful outdoor terrace with great service. It was a cool day so they gave my wife a blanket and lit the propane heater making it perfect! The food was also amazing. I had the fried chicken sandwich with garden salad. Will definately be back!

We brought our small party of 10 to celebrate our wedding at Le Caveau. The food was delicious and everyone was pleased with their choices. Everyone ordered trout or hangar steak - both were excellent! The staff were attentive and kind without being intrusive. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting. It was the perfect setting for our small, valley wedding. We'll be back to celebrate our anniversary. Can't wait!

Great food. Very good wine list. Had to sit inside due to rain. Patio looked lovely though. It's a small place and can get noisy fast. Maybe better for dinner and a few drinks than something More intimate or romantic.

The food and service are great. The charcuterie and cheese board is really amazing.

Was a classier kind of place than I am used to, but they were warm and friendly and made me feel welcome. The seating seating was clean, comfortable and safely distanced. The food and wine were very good.

My husband and I were married in Wolfville this May, and we stayed at the Inn at Grand Pre and had our supper at Le Caveau that day with our two witnesses. We were totally spoiled and had the best time – the staff were absolutely amazing and the food! To die for. We each got one of the main courses and we were all so pleased – the Moroccan Chickpea Marrakeh had so much flavour and depth. After our meal we enjoyed a stroll through the vineyard where we met someone (who I believe might have been the owner) lighting lanterns along the path for his guests to enjoy the sunset and evening in the vines. The entire experience from start to finish was spectacular and we can’t wait to return to Le Caveau and the Inn at Grand Pre again!

Friendly, good wine, and the food was. Try special. The ability to sit outside for lunch amongst the vines was breathtaking!! I would love to recommend to everyone who enjoys wine to add it to your "must" list!

My husband and I could not imagine a better place than Le Caveau to end our Nova Scotia vacation. From start to finish everything was beautifully presented and wonderfully prepared. We began with the charcuterie board, had the seafood paella, and the cheese board and enjoyed the Tidal Bay Reserve white wine. Every morsel was delicious! Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. We have dined at Le Caveau in the past and a trip to Nova Scotia would not be complete without a evening here. I should mention that we had drinks on the patio in the afternoon. In the past we have enjoyed treats from the snack menu but had to pass this time as we had chosen an early dinnerhour.

My wife, sister and myself stopped by for lunch today. Dining room was booked but we were offered to sit on the patio. The whole dining experience was superb! The server was very knowledgeable in the menu and gave us plenty of time to look things over and choose our meals. Every bite was delicious! A great experience had by us all. We left very happy and satisfied. Thank you

A wonderful meal, in a comfortable setting, served by an excellent staff. Although disappointed that the lamb had been taken off the menu, we thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie board to share as a starter, the boar and cassoulet. Finished perfectly with a butter tart with ice cream and the selection of cheese. All of this accompanied by the Grand Pré Castel Vintner's Reserve. The restaurant reminded us of a typical Swiss restaurant; sparsely decorated with furnishing of light coloured hardwoods. I think what made the night special though, was the service. Picking up on my wife's comment that our wine selection was one of her favourites, one of our servers brought a 2014 vintage, that although it was a small gesture, it made us feel special. Both of the servers took time to engage us in conversation, and although busy always had a few more words to share about the menu, the restaurant, and the winery. I'm not sure if we mentioned it, but it was our 26th wedding anniversary that night, and would like to say thank you for making the night exceptional. I would highly recommend Le Caveau to anyone looking for a fine dining experience while visiting the Valley and environs!

I worked at Grand Pre in the summer of 2014, and have returned many times as a customer since moving away. The Stutz family and the rest of the staff are wonderful, the site is gorgeous, but most importantly, the wine is made with the utmost care and skill. I still religiously bring bottles of Riesling and Avocado Caesar dressing back to Ottawa in my suitcase! A must for anyone visiting the Valley.

I was quite disappointed sadly. Although the property itself was beautiful, it took over two hours for us to be seated, two hours for us to order almost 3 hours for us to get food and it was quite expensive for the quality and portion size. Knowing that it was a long weekend, one would think they would be more prepared and stocked on food, there was no bread to be ordered (bread is not free you have to pay for it separately), two of the women in my party we're not able to get the chicken because they ran out, and the service was extremely slow. It took almost an hour to get our food. The dessert I ordered melted quite quickly, went through the slats on the table and all over my feet. We did express our concerns with the wait, not enough servers available, slow service, disappointment with not having things on the menu, especially bread which should be readily available on the long weekend. I expected some kind of resolution but there was none Again the property was beautiful and the company I went with was incredible. The band that was playing was very good and I would love to see them again. Disappointed in my experience and visit. I spent a lot of money and left unhappy and hungry.

A lot of fine Annapolis Valley wines and exquisite local cuisine. The Nova Scotia Ice Wine Festival held annually over two weekends at Grand Pre Wines is a real treat to enjoy in our own backyard. An excellent event. Thank you for hosting. I had a blast!

This was my first experience on a wine tour in Nova Scotia. It was the last of three wineries and although it ended our all day tour of three local wineries it was by no means the least. We were treated to some of the finest wines by Karen who was wonderful at explaining how to taste wines. Mike R from Grape Escapes added fantastic insight as well. Needless to say the wines at Grand Pré were exquisite and the service on a lovely Fall day made this an unforgettable first time. Well done. Grand Pré was a beautiful setting and I bought something special which I’ll save for the right occasion.

Grand Prè never disappoints!! Friendly staff, beautiful location and above all else, fantastic wines! Love the bubbly cuvée; a fun, sweet sparkling. The 2015 Tidal Bay is also excellent. Cheers!

Actual winery and vineyard were gorgeous, but I wasn't a fan of either of the wines we tasted.

We stopped there on our wine bus tour! It was beautiful and the wine is great!
