Review Ho Wah Chinese Food Take Out - Gatineau

A take out place that makes your food very fast at very reasonable price. Had a few words with the cashier in cantonese while I waited. I had a stir fried wide noodle beef (ho fun). Noodles were overcooked to my liking making the noodle crumbled but the taste was on and portion was very good. Egg rolls (not in picture) were very crispy and well made. Witnessed a person ordering before me dropped his bag on the ground as he was exiting the place. The cashier told the person to come back and had it changed. Recommended for a fast meal to go.

I can't speak to service or atmosphere since I have only ordered delivery, but this restaurant is the best Chinese food I have ever tasted anywhere in Eastern Ontario or Western Quebec. Sooooo good and I highly recommend!!!

First time trying out this restaurant! I had the Crispy beef (sooooo good!), shanghai noodles, as well as an open end egg roll. Very good! I will be ordering again. The delivery driver was very polite.

Ordered the Special and #3 combos and egg rolls. Tasted delicious. Large portions for low cost. Fried rice was actually one of the best I've had. Will definitely order from here again.

Great portions. Food super flavourful. My partner and I have ordered the 3 person meal and the 4 person meal and typically it lasts for 2-3 days for left overs. We have never been disappointed.

Best burnt end rolls in Gatineau(almost on par with Golden Palace). The rest of the menu is above average. Portions are good.

Great Chinese food, the restaurant itself is outdated and is in need of a serious makeover so I always go for the take out option! Good portions a little pricey sometimes for what you get but it’s always good food.

Late takeout dinner. The food was subpar to say the least. I placed an order for pickup, for which I gave them my phone number. My order consisted of chop suey, fried noodles with beansprouts (the usual lomein noodles but without all the vegetables) a combo plate (chow mein, chop suey and fried rice). I arrived 20 minutes after placing the order assuming it would be ready to go. Except when I got there they told me they couldnt make the majority of my order because they were out of beansprouts! A chinese restaurant that runs out of an ingredient that goes in the majority of their dishes, not good. I drove 15 minutes to get there and they said they couldn't cancel my order so I then had to change everything to a different order and then wait another 15 minutes. On top of everything I simply wanted Chow mein noodles and I was fine without the beansprouts but instead they changed my order to cantonese chow mein, saying it was the same noodles but with chicken too. WRONG! It was totally different noodles, and it had shrimp, chicken and pork in it! I'm allergic to shrimp, so clearly I couldnt even eat that! I will NEVER go back there.

LOVE IT!. The small little place has the best Chinese food in the old part of Hull. If you go eat before 8pm you have the choice of combination plate, 2 egg rolls and a soup for less then $10.00. The food is always fresh. We go at least once a month. Try it.
