Review Cora - Gatineau

Thought we'd try Cora in the province of its birth. Much the same as here in Ontario except for the potatoes. We get lovely fried potatoes here, they had what seemed to be seasoned wedges from a freezer bag. The rest was fine and much the same. Grumpy waitress, cafeteria ambience, the usual. But it was somehow not as good. Oh well... still worlds better than the hotel breakfast.

The food was great and the service was good. It's hard to get to because of the construction but lots of seating when we arrived. Prices are a lot higher than i remember, but I'd definitely return.

Great Breakfast!!! We came for breakfast and will definitely return. All our orders came out perfect and without a long wait. Staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. There were 14 of us in our party, and we were very happy with our experience here. For your next breakfast out give Cora a try!!!

Got a real dive greasy spoon atmosphere to it which is not conducive to the prices they charge. The food was excellent and plentiful and well presented. It really really tasty but gosh darn it the prices were extraordinarily probably 50% higher than they should have been

The food amount was on the skimpy side. I ordered a salmon bagel with fruits, and I barely had enough to lay one slice on each bagel slice. The service was as expected and the taste as well. Overall, it was a good experience.

It was great, thank you a lot for a warm delicious breakfast in a busy winter morning. We have been surprised that it was a line to get I to the restaurant. It looks like a super popular place

There is a manager called “Louise “ here , she is “the Karen” of the place. We asked to be seated to wait for food with LOTS of empty spots to spare in the corner, but she told us they were reserved to clients (like we did not have a 70$ order waiting). After I managed to explain that we will only be there for seconds to wait for food and would rather not stand, she left and came back 5 mins later showing us the seat booth in the entrance. This customer service behaviour is not befitting a place I enjoy going to breakfast like Cora’s. I would also like to say the employees were a gem and even apologized for the manager’s behaviour, especially Isabelle. Now that was a real star and hero of a sweetheart .

The location was busy when I came in and they were understaffed so the food took a while to arrive, but everything was delicious, loved their take on the potatoes that came with the burrito crape, lightly deep fried and seasoned, very happy with my experience.

Our waitress was fantastic. I feel they might be a bit understaffed. We went on a Friday morning and for some reason it was very busy and noisy. That said, my food was very good.

We loved this place!!!! In our Canada trip we always choose Cora restaurants they are the best… the quality and the service are great too. We liked the freshness of the food and appearance of the fruit 🍎. Best place for a brunch or dinner, highly recommended.

I love this place and it’s my first time back since the fire a few years ago ~love the update ~breakfast was delicious.

Nous sommes aller déjeuner dimanche matin. Il n'y avait pas beaucoup de monde. Après la prise de commande par la serveuse, nous avons remarqué qu'il n'y avait pas de fourchette sur la table. C'est le cuisinier qui a livré nos assiettes, nous lui avont demandé pour des fourchettes, il a dit qu'il nous en apporterait sur le champ, avec ketchup et confiture. Nous avons attendu, il n'est jamais revenu. Il n'y avait aucune serveuse allentour. Nous avons pus en demander, un bon 2 minutes plus tard, et pus ainsi commencer à manger apres un bon gros 5-6 minutes d'attente au total. Evidemment, nos oeufs etait froid. Les patates rotis sur un bord, et molle et froide de l'autre, omelette en jus pas assez cuite. 2 toasts sur 4 n'étaient pas beurrer, alors nous avons dû demander du beurre et les beurrer nous mêmes. Elles etaient rendu froide par ce temps là. 4 tranches de bacon tellement minces que nous avions l'impression de manger un Osti à l'église. Pendant tout notre repas, JAMAIS la serveuse n'est venu nous voir... sauf pour ramasser nos assietes à la fin. Nous aurious pus ne rien manger et redemander une autre mais nous étions attendu ailleur et notre temps étaient compté. Tres tres tres déçu, c'etait la 3e fois que nous sortons de là déçu du repas qui coûtent très cher, et les assietes sont de plus en plus petite et nous laisse sur notre faim... C'est finis pour nous.

Nous avons vécu le pire déjeuner à vie. Pas d'ustensile, pas de napkins, doit attendre pour en avoir, par le temps que ça arrive ton repas est froid. Le bacon tellement mince que tu vois clairement au travers et brise tout seul. Les patates bruler sur un bord et pas cuite de l'autre. Le pain pas beurrer. Les crepes pas bien cuite. Les omelettes des enfants etait liquide. Et la gérante devait venir nous voir et elle ne c'est jamais présenté à notre table. Nous allions déjeuner là 2 fois par mois avec les enfants, c'est maintenant terminé. Il y a plein d'autre places pour déjeuner, beaucoup moins dispendieux avec une bien meilleure assiettes, bien remplis et chaude.

Food was excellent, as usual, the lady who greeted us was also great. Our server, on this visit, left a slightly bad taste in our mouths. Although we were served quickly, not once did she come back to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything. When we did need something, we spent time looking for her or went to get it ourselves or from a different server.

Good choice breakfast and extremely friendly staff. Merci beaucoup

Nourriture excellente comme toujours!

Very basic breakfast without originality. Prices are average for breakfast but everything tastes bland. Plates arrived at interval and food was not very warm... service was good and they did accomodate a reservation for 5 on Easter Monday. There are much better breakfast spots nearby, we will not be going back.

I have finally found the place in Ottawa for the absolute worst Eggs Benedict. They arrived cold, and the hollandaise was so broken that it was separating right in front of me. It's my fault for ordering that at Cora's, but I thought, "it can't be that bad!" I was wrong. Stick to bacon, eggs, and fruit, they can do that.

We went to this Cora location on St. Joseph Blvd in Hull/Gatineau about 4 times now. We won't go back ! The food is not that good. It is over priced for the lack of quality that they serve. Each time we ate there the potatoes were never hot, at best they were lukewarm. When the waitress took the plate back to the kitchen, by the time she returned (with greasy hotter potatoes), everyone has practically finished their breakfast plate. You can tell that the bacon was freshly cooked around 6:00 A.M. and when you get to the restaurant around 11:00 A.M. the bacon tastes old and lukewarm, if not cold. When the bacon is returned to the kitchen, the waitress bring back the same kind of bacon, but this time, it's been re-heated either in the microwave or on a greasy frying pan. Breakfast for two cost $30.00 including 10% tip. The breakfast we both had was the plain 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast and one coffee, no juice, just water. Now that's an expensive breakfast compared to other places we have gone to and didn't mind paying that kind of money  because the food was good. Try the <br/>breakfast Restaurant at 790 Kanata Avenue, in Kanata. (Eggstyle Restaurant). The eggs Benedict made with Brie Cheese  and mushrooms is absolutely delicious. By the way, some Cora outlets like the one on St. Laurent Blvd in Ottawa, cooks way better food than the one in Hull/Gatineau.

I only ever eat eggs and bacon and the whole shabang for breakfest so overpriced waffles /crepes are not my thing in the morning... and since "normal breafest foods" are not their thing well the price on eggs bacon and toast is quite high! Food is goot but I have had better breakfest potatoes and a way bigger portion of everything at other places for way cheaper.. when I am paying 12-13$ for 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes and whatnot I expect the plate to be full.

Not worth it. The service is very bad and the food overpriced, the pancakes are more like a piece of plastic that real pacakes and too expensive for what they serve.

Excellent food, horrible service. Food was fresh and fast, no complaints. Our waitress brought our coffee, I asked for sweetener and she disappeared. I gr up and got it myself after 5 min. Barely anyone else in the restaurant. The manager brought is our food. Our waitress showed up to take out plates and mumbled sorry for not grabbing sweetener. Manager asked us about service, I said I had to get almost everything myself and her response was "well, whatever". We are never going back

The srvice is great, but the food was over rated by my family and friends so i took my kids there and it was ok nothing super, the waffels were too chewy like chewing gum, thats what my 5 year old told me.<br/>the prices are more the le station which has better breakfast.<br/>it always full and crowded, the tables are too small and the quantity wasnt enough and i'm not a big eater,.
