We were only here for the weekend, otherwise I would go back again repeatedly. It is definitely worth making this a stop on your list even if it's just for the coffee.
The food, atmosphere, and service was fantastic! We had a cappuccino, an americano, and soup and veggie sandwich. The server was very sweet. It is a great place to grab a quick bite.
Tasty Mexican cafe. Food is excellent and coffee superb (nice rancillio machine and competent barrista). The food is fresh and homemade.
Menu consists of tacos, empanadas, burritos etc...soup is also very good.
Ironically, it is located right across from a dreadful pizza joint and bar.
Cost is about 18 $ for and americano, burrito and dessert cookie.
Great for lunch. The grunts in the asbestos laden phase 1 to 4 buildings nearby have limited sentience to great places of this sort.

Café Merkén, I liked the service, there were two very cute girls, one of them, Cubana, with whom I talk a lot. It gave me joy that I knew the meaning of Merkén. The place is small but very cozy, with a delicious cappuccino and an interesting menu which I will try very soon. It is a beautiful town worth visiting.
Quaint café in portage. Walking distance from offices, lots of shops, and parks. Caring staff and good variety of South American food.
Good, quality food, prepared simply. A refreshing change from all of the pub fare and fast food in the area. Great coffee as well.
Amazing tacos. At first the price $12 for 3 tacos surprised me but after eating them they were worth every penny. Full of flavour, the tacos were stuffed to the brim. Friendly staff and a clean small space. Did not expect this sort of hidden just off of Laval. Wish I had the coffee there which also looked good.
I’m so happy I found this place right beside my work. The empanadas are amazing - just like in Latin America. The lattes also taste amazing. The owner is very friendly and kind. I am definitely becoming a regular here.
What a cozy and delicious cafe to have brunch. I stumbled upon this gem after Googling for Latin American food in the Ottwa-Gatineau region. I highly recommend the empanadas and natural juices.
The owner (Rueben) was very personable and fully tri-lingual (French, English and Spanish). We will definitely be coming back in the near future.

Not bad, but is mostly Mexican food not Latin, Latin would be food from all the Latin countries.
